Chapter 6 - GETTING INTIMATE WITH IT

I was used to my dad's treatments already. He was just such an emotional father who didn't like people noticing his soft side, always showing his hard one.

But every man breaks at a point, right? Well, a father who beats me up with a hard rod and tells me the reason he did it was because he loved me is a man who has mood swings, to me.

So, I just had to keep up with his hard reproaches towards me sometimes, literally all of my life till this moment.

That aside, I had harder things to think about, so letting out a deep breath, I just got out of my thoughts and headed towards my room.

I knew I wasn't gonna have any food, probably for the whole day. But considering the fact that I wasn't willing to apologize to my dad, it would make it about two days and a few hours. So I had to manage my biscuits properly if I didn't want to starve.

Punishing me with food was the usual thing for my dad anytime he felt I offended him, and having nowhere else to get something to eat made it the perfect punishment for me that sometimes had me coming back to beg shamefully.

Feeling extremely tired as usual, I made my way into my room. As I locked the door behind me, I threw the biscuits on my dirty laundry, being the easiest way my hand went, and fell back on my bed.

Normally, I would have just taken up my phone, watched some nudes, and jacked till I slept off. But I was still shaky from tonight's experience... ugh, sorry, this morning's.

Well, this wasn't a joke at all, that I knew for sure. This felt more than a cult initiation would have felt, and I could still hear its voice in my head, ringing over and over again as I sat back up.

Where do I start? Robbing Bony? Sigh! I can't even believe I'm thinking about it. This is suicidal. I would have preferred stealing from a mall than stealing from a heartless being like Bony.

Bony was just the best-known street lord, if I should put it that way.

A dealer in anything: drug dealing, robbery, illegal arms, you name it. He was so dangerous even the cops didn't cross his path anymore, not after the street outburst between his men and the cops.

The whole street shut down for a week, and still the cops couldn't get him. He is so powerful, 90 percent of the gangsters and hard men in and within neighboring towns were on his side, and funny enough, they were all willing to lay down their lives for him.

Bony was an untouchable god in the flesh, a grand mafia lord, a devil on earth, a murderer, a king in his own territory. Hehe, and now some system wants me to go steal his wristwatch.

It could have been anything but that wristwatch. I mean, anything. Every image of this guy on the news and socials had that golden wristwatch on his wrist. It was literally a part of him. Hehehe, and I was expected to steal it. But for what purpose, I thought to myself, just when a voice diverted my attention.

"To own it for yourself and become the new mafia lord in the streets. And achieve your first step of your destiny."

"Who said that?" I asked, looking around my room, finding no one else in it with me.

"Who was that?" I asked again, looking around.

"I'm in your consciousness. You can't see me, but I'm here to help you embark on this journey to glory, and it will cost $50 for every successful mission."

"What! In my head? Who said anything about being in my head? That wasn't the agreement," I complained out loud, feeling a little unsure about what was happening at the moment, just when my mom stepped in.

"Were you talking to someone?" she asked, looking around the room.

"No, there's no one here with me. I was just... I just ended a call right now," I said as she gave me an unreadable look and closed the door.

"Hey, so what now?" I asked, not getting a reply. I found my way into the bathroom, had my bath, and put on my clothes.

I just had to go into the kitchen and meet my mom, just to be sure.

"Mum, please, I'm ready to eat," I said, approaching her in a coded manner.

"I don't know what you did to your dad, but he says you won't have anything in this house till further notice."

"Ah, just like I expected." And I didn't want to try convincing my mom, considering my dad's temper. He could pick a fight with her if he found out she gave me some food behind his back. So, I just packed as many crackers as I could in my pockets and made my way out of the house.

I made my way to work, stuffing my face with some crackers from my pocket, just when I heard it again.

"Bony just left his mansion and has headed for a golf course practice. Now will be the perfect time to proceed with the mission, young blood."

It felt strange having a voice in my head, but I knew it was going to be a usual thing, so I was already getting used to it.

"How do you know he isn't at home right now?" I asked in a low tone so people wouldn't think I was crazy or talking to myself.

"I know everything. I am omniscient," it replied, then started again.

"Take the red car by the left side of the road. It will take you there faster." At first, I thought I didn't hear it clearly.

"What the f**k do you mean?" I asked, just when I felt a strange surge all over my body, running like shivers down my spine, making me shut down, losing my stance for a moment.

I opened my eyes and found myself on the ground and saw people staring at me as I got up immediately.

Now, that wasn't what bugged me. This was something I couldn't understand.

Everything my eyes caught after I got up from the ground had an explanation.

From the length of my face from the ground to my distance to work and from home, I could read plate numbers from six cars moving at high speed and tell which speed limit they were on. There was literally a calculation for everything, and I hardly had to think before getting an answer immediately before my eyes, even to the length of the steps the person beside me took while passing me.

I observed for some seconds, just when the voice interrupted my observations again.

"MERGING IS A SUCCESS!"

I felt very different and confident and stronger, if I was not mistaken. I remained lost in my thoughts, just when the voice came again, and it was clearer this time.
