A close friend of mine once said, just seconds before he died, "Life's but a flicker... a candle in a stormy night... Don't be fooled by its warmth, for the winds of fate will snuff it out soon enough…. an… guh! Uhgh!!"

These were his exact words before choking to death from his own blood. It wasn't an expected case for him to get shot while preaching the gospel, but it was even scarier to hear such a statement coming from him, even at his point of death, being a man of virtue many people looked up to.

So, I wasn't going to take what just happened between me and Bony to be a cool reconciliation thing or anything that meant we were on good terms.

I didn't understand anything at the moment, but I was okay, keeping in mind that I finally got the watch, whether by merit or mercy; the point is that I got it. I think I just understood those words after two years of his death.

I had a good relationship with this priest, being the only one who seemed to understand me in life and always been ready to make time for me. He made me stop a lot of things I would have done back then.

I was present at the scene when he spoke his last words, which made it an unforgettable experience for me, especially because his last words were the opposite of everything he pointed out for me when he was alive.

But hey! Life goes on, right? Fuck him anyway. I'm sure if he knew what I'm going through now, he would have had a different perspective for me.

I remained lost in my thoughts; I didn't notice the car had stopped, but the engines were still humming. I wondered what was wrong at the moment.

I tried stepping harder on the gas, but still, it didn't move. I took a look below my steering wheel, just to see a puddle of blood on the carpet before the chair. Then I realized I couldn't feel my right leg at this point. I could hear my heartbeat from within, and the smell of iron gave me confirmation that I was surely bleeding from within."

"This road was a really lonely one, as it was known for its high rate of robbery. But at this point, I was just dead sure no one was anywhere near me at the moment.

I opened the door and fell to the bare ground. I noticed the ground was dry, with no signs of rainfall or water at all.

Everything around me was dry, except for my stolen car. As I quickly took a glance at the sky, a huge cloud captured my eyes. What was this? The rain cloud only seemed to hover over Bony's mansion. I could see the darkness it rained on the house, and the thunderbolts falling upon the mansion, bringing it down with every strike.

It was an unusual scenario for a rain cloud to hover over only one house, but considering everything that had been happening in my life since my interaction with that system in my living room, nothing seemed like a normal scenario anymore. There was one thing I knew for sure: there was a lot I needed to learn.

I stood still, lying flat on the car, as I reached for the book and watched in my pocket, giving it a good look. Just then, I noticed headlights coming my way at high speed.

They must be moving so fast due to the storm cloud chaos. Whoever was driving didn't seem to slow down, coming closer to me.

He could clearly see me, I thought weakly, as I began hearing the engines roar become louder by the second.

I tried getting up, but the pain was just too intense, so I just remained still. So if whoever's driving decides to run me over, I'm dead right? I stood still as the car came closer, less than a hundred meters from me. It took a sharp halt, making its tires screech loudly as it finally came to a stop with its rear tires so close to my head that I could feel the heat from the engine.

I heard someone step down from the car. 'Yo, it's a fucking guy!' a rough, deep voice said out loud, and he didn't seem to be alone. He was surely talking to someone. Why was he helping me up? An excruciating pain embraced me when I tried getting back up. 'Fuck darn!' I groaned in pain as I tried to get up, even with the slight movements I made, I could still feel a lot of pain, and it got worse by the minute.

Still, despite my state, the young guy just stood there, looking at me. Just then, I heard another voice from the car. 'Yo, man, what you doing? Let's get the fuck outta here! Bruv, we ain't got no time to waste, man.' 'Yeah, man, let's get the fuck outta here.

What if them feds pull up on us, man? This is risky.' Now I was certain they were all up to five guys in the car. If I wasn't wrong, I could hear different voices from the car as they complained to the guy I lay helpless before.

Just when the rest got down from the car, one by one.

My vision was blurry, so I couldn't see their faces at the time. But from the number of legs I saw from the ground where I lay, I could tell they were all up to six of them.

'Whoa, what happened to him?' one of them asked. 'Damn, man, is that a 458 Italian I see?' Another said, 'Yo, let's not get off track.' The one who came down first drew the rest to order, as they all kept quiet. He seemed like their leader, and they didn't sound like Nigerians.

'So what, the fuck , are we doing here? We've got about 6 million at the back, and we just broke out of a fucking bank don't you guys get it? The feds could pull up on us anytime from now we gotta move like now". One of them complained with urgency in is voice.

It's a risky game being out here.' 'He's bleeding, but he's still alive,' the one who seemed to be the leader said.

'I think we should put a bullet in his head. He's heard too much already. I mean, he's got a nice ride, it. could be very useful to us let's just put him out of his misery he is a mess"

Shoot me? Why shoot me? Please, just leave me here for a Good Samaritan to come my way.' I said in my mind.

No, I know what to do... I noticed the one who seemed to be their leader's voice trail off as everything went blank slowly."
