Marrissa's pov
I felt pain around my legs as I tried to sit up. My head spinned, I looked around trying to recollect what exactly happened here.
The stain of blood and the pain I felt in-between my legs was enough to remind me.
Marrissa, Marrissa, what have you done?
I quickly stood up and looked around for my clothes.
I saw some notes beside my blouse and I felt so ashamed.
The idiot must have thought I was a prostitute.
I cried, cursing my ex boyfriend, he led me to this shameful act.
I was so devastated after seeing him with his lover.
"You have been a big fool Marrissa", I said to myself.
My phone rang and I picked it up.
"Where the hell have you been, Marrissa?"Molly, my best friend, asked.
I started crying again, louder this time.
I narrated my encounter with the stranger and my one night stand with him.
What! Molly screamed.
I took my blouse after my discussion with Molly and a male bracelet dropped.
I picked it up and threw it inside my bag without paying attention to it.
I drove home quickly to prepare for work.
************
As I drove to work, my mind drifted to Mr Morgan Thornhill, he would be resuming today and only God knows what he will do to me.
I have heard a lot about him and from what I heard he is a devil.
Hufffff, I sighed.
I went inside the office and went straight to my boss's office.
I could hear loud voices inside but I couldn't place the voice.
I went in after Mr Thornhill asked me to.
I stopped in my steps and our eyes met.
"Oh God please, he isn't the one", I prayed silently.
I looked at Mr Thornhill and he smiled.
"How are you Marrissa?"and "How's your mom's health?", he asked.
I couldn't get the words out of my mouth.
The man by his side kept shooting me with fiery gazes.
I felt uncontrolled heat surge through me.
"So let's get this done with", Mr Thornhill said again.
"Marrissa, this is your new boss, my son, Morgan Thornhill, Morgan this is Marrissa, my competent secretary". I saw him wink at his son and I knew I was dead.
We remained at our positions, eyeing each other, but Morgan's look was enough to send me to my early grave.
"So, you didn't just keep me waiting at the airport, you also insulted me and extorted money from me, wow, you really are something else Marrissa", he fired.
"I'm.. sorry.. sir.. I didn't.. recognize… you", I stammered.
Mr Thornhill looked at both of us lost as to what was really happening, Morgan took it upon himself to explain to his father, adding a little bit of spice.
"So you see father, she needs to be fired, I can't and certainly won't work with her", he said looking at his father.
"Morgan, I'm sure Marrissa here is very sorry for all she put you through that day, you need to erase it from your mind and start afresh", Mr Thornhill said,
"Yes sir, I am"… .I said quietly.
Morgan looked at me like he was ready to strangle me.
"Marrissa, where is the information I asked you to get on your way to work?", Mr Thornhill asked.
"I have it there sir", I replied as I searched for it in my bag with shaky hands.
Something fell out of my bag as I brought the piece of paper out.
Morgan picked it up, it was the bracelet from my one night stand.
He looked at the card and then looked at me with a big frown.
"What have I done wrong again?'', I thought to myself, scared.
"Where the hell did you get my branded bracelet from?"he barked and I almost fainted in fear.
