Az looked as the woman in front of him closely as she sipped a cup of tea. There was only one problem, he couldn't read her at all. It had been quite some time since he encountered this problem. Even when he met the king, or the butler from earlier who tried to keep his face as emotionless as possible.
It was quite possible and easy to read them. However, the woman who was hiding her true feelings behind a smile, those were the kind of people that were the hardest to read.
"Excuse me. Can you tell me what you brought me here for and what you wanted to 'talk' about?" Az broke the silence that had been hanging in the air for the previous 5 minutes.
"Why so formal? You can be comfortable around me." Diana replied, the smile never leaving her face.
"Then, what did you want to talk to me about, mom?" Az replied, this time with a smile of his own.
"Oh. You're quite quick to adapt." Diana said with an amused tone.
"What can I say? Must be somewhere in my genes, I suppose?" Az replied.
"Oh. What a cheeky little child." The amused tone did not leave Diana's voice.
"As I said, must be somewhere in my genes." Az continued with the cheeky replies.
"You still haven't answered my question though." Az continued.
"You hurt my heart. Is it wrong for a mother to wish to talk with her child?" Diana replied.
Az did not reply.
"I just wanted to give you some advice. But it seems it isn't necessary since you turned out to be such a cheeky brat." Diana continued.
"Advice?" Az questioned.
"I just wanted to tell you." Diana stood up from her seat and walked up to Az and put her hand on Az's head and patted his head.
Az looked up to see his mother looking at him with a loving look on her face. "You are my, Diana Bloodfallen's only child. The king's other children will come to you, jealous of you for your talent, trying to put you down."
As she said that, Diana's expression changed from loving to serious. "I just want to tell you that you are not below them, no, you're not below everybody, so if anyone tries to bother you, don't be shy to smack them in the face, insult them, not show them any face and put them back in their place.
See, us Bloodfallen have only one principle.
My father told me this and now I'm telling you. It matters not who stands before you, be it a beggar or the king himself, he who shows you respect and kindness shall have your eternal gratitude and respect, but he who disrespects you, shall be paid back only by swords and blood."
Az nodded, not knowing what he was feeling right now. It felt like when he was with his previous family, but yet somehow different. If he was asked what it felt like, he would reply that it felt…...nice.
Soon, he found himself in the very place that he was before he appeared in the meadow.
"Well, I'll be taking my leave now, then." Diana said as she disappeared in a swirl of flames.
The butler, Sebas, seemed to finally let loose and relax a little once Diana disappeared. He turned to Az and asked him to follow him once again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Az and Sebas stood in front of a palace, which although not as impressive as the main palace, still seemed to be the 2nd most impressive building Az had ever witnessed, even the other palace's that belonged to the other prince and princesses that they passed by on the way here.
As they entered the palace, Azrath was greeted by an impressive hall that seemed to be too grand for a place a single person to be living in it.
"This is the Golden crown palace, the best palace in the capital city if we exclude the royal palace. And this whole palace now belongs to you, your highness." Sebas said.
"I see. It certainly is very impressive. Are you gonna give me a tour or can I go ahead myself?" Az asked.
"I'm afraid even I don't know enough about the Golden Crown palace to give you a tour, your highness." Sebas replied.
"Then you can excuse yourself." Az stated. As he said that, Sebas nodded and saw himself out.
Az was excited. He ran around the entire house without a care in the world. Any room of the palace he entered was better than any room of the so called "first-class rooms" of the 'best' inns in his previous city.
He searched for whichever room he felt was the best and claimed itself as his own. Then something hit him, what clothes was he going to wear? He didn't take his previous clothes with him as he figured, meh, I'll probably have something to wear, right?
He wasn't wrong, he could always ask some servants to buy some clothes for him later, but what if the maids the king said to assign to the palace took 3 days to be assigned. First thing he did was look through the closet in the room, and what he saw pleasantly surprised him.
There were all kind of clothes there that he needed, casual, formal, training, nightclothes, everything he needed, all the sizes that would fit an average 10-year-old. Then, something hit him. Did they know he was gonna choose this room and put clothes in this one, or did they...
Then Az ran to the room nearest to his room, and opened the closet, and sure enough, "Man, rich people really be different." Az muttered.
Someone like him would obviously think so, one of those closets would be enough to feed a normal family for a decade, and they filled the more than 100 rooms with clothes like that, knowing most of them would go to waste, just cause they didn't know which one he would choose.
Couldn't they like, just assign a room to him or something? Az then proceeded to go and take a bath, which he would describe as the most luxurious bath he had ever taken, so much so that he stayed there for 2 hours, simply cause he was used to taking baths in a river or pond.
For someone like him, even a normal warm bath would be like paradise. Then noticing that it was already 8:30 pm and he had gotten only around 7 hours of sleep last night, when he normally slept for around 9 hours every day, Az just decided to go to bed.
Next morning, Az woke up with a cold bucket thrown at his face. Az opened his eyes and groaned before sitting up. What greeted him was an unearthly beauty who seemed to be in her early twenties, with black hair and green eyes, along with her flawless skin, she had a face that would make the goddesses of love jealous.
She had a cute little nose with juicy looking lips, with a small mole on her chin area. The mole didn't affect her beauty in the slightest, instead amplifying it further.
Combining that with her curvaceous figure, she was the kind of beauty that would make countries go to war for a single glance at her.
Azrath, for one did not give a flying fuck about how beautiful the woman looked. The woman was now staring down at him as she stood with her one hand on her waist and the other holding a bucket.
"Wake up, sleepyhead. I can't believe his majesty sent me to train such a lazy guy." The woman said with a smile that was of a wolf staring at its prey.
"What time is it?" Az asked in an expressionless voice.
"5-"The woman replied before she had to dodge a lamp that was thrown towards her.
"Oi, bastard. What the fuck are you doing?" The woman asked.
"Man. These people really don't understand to wake up a man from his deep sleep, especially not at 5 am with cold water, do they." Az said as he picked up the bucket the woman dropped while dodging his lamp throw and threw it at her.
"Stop throwing stuff at me." The woman said as she appeared behind Az and tripped him on the ground, and rendered him motionless by sitting on him, with one of her hands grabbing him arm, her leg pressing the other. As she did so, one of her hands was pressing down on the floor.
Just then, Az did something she never expected him to do, he...bit her arm.
"Let go of my arm, you bastard." She said as she let go of one of his and used that hand to smack him in the neck to knock him out.
She stood up and grabbed the area which Az had bitten. "Is he some kind of stray dog?"
She quickly tied him up this time.
~2 hours later~
Az opened his eyes from a state of sleep for the 2nd time today. He was once again greeted by the face of the same beauty earlier. He also noticed that he was tied up.
"Oh. You up?" The woman asked.
"No. Not really. I'm still in quite a deep sleep. See, I'm even having a bloody nightmare, having my eyesight slowly being ruined by looking at the face of the legendary sleep-ruining demon." Az said, his voice filled with sarcasm.
Veins popped out of the beautiful woman's forehead. "Look. I know we started on the wrong foot, but I think we're pretty even, considering that you bit me, and I threw cold water on you. What do you say?"
"Well, you also knocked me out and tied me up but alright, I'll be the bigger man and forgive you." Az replied.
Her face turned red, but she slowly calmed down. "Alright then, my name is Camillia Dragonhart and I'm the one his majesty sent to be your master in aura training for the next 3 years."
"I'm Azrath Alikerth Bloodfallen, I guess. And 1 question 'master', are you into bondage and specifically bondage on 10-year-old good-looking boys, or are you planning to untie me?" Az asked.
However, this time, instead of getting angry, a smile popped up on Camillia's face. "Oh, I'm gonna have fun tortur-, I mean training you."
And honestly, to Az, that was the scariest thing he had ever seen.
