Chapter 8 - Training (4)

Az was particularly happy today. It had been 20 days since he had gotten a proper 9 hours of sleep, going to bed at 11 and waking up at 6:30.

"Emily, it's a beautiful day today, isn't it?" Az asked as he stretched his arms with a yawn, the clock showing that it was 8 in the morning.

"I-I suppose so." Emily replied, not sure where that came from, since Az was never a fan of small talk (unless it was with his mother. Yes, Az is a mama's boy, bite me.) and didn't speak much until he was either extremely bored or he had something to say.

In this case, she was sure it wasn't either.

"Shiina, what time do I have magic classes today?" Az asked as he cut an omelet with a knife and brought it to his mouth with a fork.

"At 12 o'clock, your highness." Shinna replied.

"Alright then, I'll be at the training grounds. Make sure to come and notify me when it's 11." Az said as he stood up and started walking towards the front door.

"As you command, your highness." Shiina said as she bowed her head.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"An S-rank sword style, he says. And it's also written that it was only 20% completed? Then, did he intend to make this a X-grade fighting style." Az wondered as he read the book he had gotten yesterday.
X-grade was the level above SSS-grade. To this day, there was only one X-grade sword style. And that was said to be used by Asura Bloodfallen, and it seems that very man had tried to create another X-grade sword style.
'I have given up trying to complete this one because this sword-style isn't suitable for me. I hope someone in the future generation comes along for whom this style is suitable, and they complete this sword style.' The book read.
The book seemed to have meant to contain 10 chapters looking at the contents, but this book in reality only had 2 chapters.
Speed
Preciseness
 Strength
 Stealth
 Instinct
Discipline
 Drunkenness
Blindness
Hawk-eyes
And the 10th was torn off. But the other nine had already messed up his brain a little bit.
The 1st chapter was speed, leading one to believe that it was a speed-based sword style, but the third was strength. That was a pretty uncommon thing as you needed a physique that didn't have too much muscle for max speed and the opposite for max strength.
That wasn't necessarily that hard to solve as there were techniques in Atsolaes that allowed one to have insane strength in a quite small body that outwardly looked like it was only around 80-90 kgs, even though they were quite hard to train than other normal ways to train one's physique, that was already how Az wanted to train his body.
What confused him more were the discipline and drunkenness and blindness and hawk-eyes. Those were the exact opposite of each other, which made Az wonder if Asura was drunk when writing this.
In fact, Az could probably train the technique upto level 5 if given enough time, but after that was what was hard, since each level contradicted the other.
The first 2 chapters would take a lot of effort to master, but the concept for them was pretty simple. The technique was a speed-based style that required one to not slash a person as strongly as possible, but as precisely as possible.
Kind of like the assassin techniques that aimed for one's vital parts. Az assumed that the 3rd chapter was probably to add more strength to those strikes so that they are viable not only for easily cuttable parts but also for harder parts, for example slashing through a metal chain or an armor.
The 4th was pretty much in line with the first 2 chapters, and the 5th was pretty much making the techniques more natural to you, which just came with experience.
Az put down the book and tried to get the basics for the technique down for the next 2 hours.
2 hours later, Az realized why this was an S-grade technique.
The concept was easy, sure, the actual speed to utilize it properly was completely unreal. Just as Az was thinking this, he heard a clapping sound.
 Az turned to the source of the clapping and saw a young man with blue hair and green eyes, and behind him stood Derrik.
"It seems you're working pretty hard. I am Kylian Zenith Alike-" The young man started, but was cut off by Azrath.
"Listen man. A trillion genius witches that have been performing calculations for a thousand times the age of Atsolaes could not begin to approach the number of fucks I do not and will never give about who you are.
 Since the monkey-mouthed motherfucker I met yesterday is here, I'm assuming you are his sugar daddy he ran to like a lost puppy. So, the fuck you want?" Az said, irritation clear in his voice.
Kylian's face nearly exploded from Az's words that were clearly meant to provoke him. "You---"
"I hope you're smart enough to not do anything too reckless here, your highness Kylian." Shiina's voice rang out as she appeared beside Az.
Kylian heaved a sigh and tried to calm himself down and flashed a practiced smile. "Ah, you must be the head maid assigned to my little brother. Don't worry. It just seems my friend here felt humiliated by yesterday's incident and wishes to settle it like a warrior, just as Atsolaes has always done. You know, strength triumphs all."
Az snorted. "Some warrior. He was kneeling and begging for mercy not even 24 hours earlier. Now, it seems his sugar daddy had lent him one of his balls and he wants to fight."
Kylian was trying to hide his anger.
"Indeed. Wanting to fight someone who is 6 years younger than himself, and he still dares to even think of the word 'warrior'." Shiina sneered.
"Ah, you know as well as I do that age is just a number in the grand scheme of things. What is a mere 6-year difference when we live for hundreds of thousands of years." Kylian replied.
"That would be true if it was between a 1006-year-old and 1000-year-old. But if we apply your logic, Lord Asura Bloodfallen should have been able to beat a 6-year-old the moment he was born." Shiina said with a frown.
Before Kylian could speak up, "What's in it for me?" Az spoke up.
"What?" Kylian asked back in surprise.
"Are you deaf? What do I get if I win? Why should I fight him?" Az asked again.
"In that case, I will take it upon myself and punch myself 3 times in the nose." Kylian replied with a smirk.
Az smirked again as he picked up a wooden sword and threw one towards Derrik. "Come at me then."
Shiina tried to protest, "But your highness—"
However, Az interrupted her, "Don't worry, it will be fine." He said with a smile.
"What are you waiting for? Do you need permission from your sugar daddy?" Az taunted Derrik again.
And it seemed that he indeed needed it as he rushed at Az as soon as Kylian nodded at him. It proved to be quite futile as Az blocked his swing as easily as Camillia blocked his own.
Derrik immediately backed up as blue aura started flowing down from his body. Shiina was getting worried as he started using his aura.
Az, however, was feeling experimental today, wanting to see if he could beat Derrik without using aura. Az confirmed that he could not just beat but destroy this braindead idiot even if he didn't use aura.
Az easily dodged all his swings and hit him on the waist with the wooden sword, just after parrying a swing from him. "You're about to have a very bad day, motherfucker." Az said as he started to throw sword swings at Derrik, one after another.
As soon as he was about to fall, Az hit him on the side where he was about to fall, not even allowing him to fall and end the spar.
This continued for 5 full minutes, after which Az stooped.
"You haven't forgotten what you're to do, have you?" Az said to Kylian.
Kylian, who was in a state of shock, gritted his teeth as he punched himself in the nose 3 times, resulting in an ugly scene of him bleeding from his nose. "I'll not forget this." He spoke.
"I want you to not forget about this. Make sure you remember this every time you try to fuck with me in the future. Also, take this trash with you." Az replied as he kicked Derrik's body.
Kylian gritted his teeth as Derrik's body started floating and Kylian walked away.
"So, is it time for my magic classes?" Az asked Shiina.
Shiina, just got out of her shock as she answered. "Indeed, young master."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Ah, your highness, it is my greatest pleasure to be blessed by your presence. My name is Ronar Pyrespark, a human from the Pyrespark family in the north." A blonde man who looked to be in his late thirties said.

Az knew from his first statement that this man was an expert bootlicker. He merely nodded his head.

"First, let me tell you why you must walk down the road of magic rather than aura." Ronar said.

"No need. I've decided to walk on the road of both magic and aura. Rather, I was told you would tell me about my inborn aura ability, 'Professor'."

"W-What? Are you sure?" Ronar asked in shock. Most people didn't walk down the road of both magic and aura as it was too time-consuming and hard.

"Yes. Now tell me about professor." Az said.

Ronar nodded.

"You must have heard that some species have an ability that only they can use right. Like the succubus's charm magic for example. Professor is the best ability for any mage in the world as this ability makes the person an exception, allowing them to use any kind of magic, even those specific to a race."

Az nodded, feeling that this ability was too overpowered.

"Alright then. Let's begin by teaching you how to mold mana. Oh, and here are some books that are necessary for beginner mages. You can borrow more from the library according to your needs." Ronar said as he brought out about 7 books and put it in front of Az.

"First, try to focus all your aura on your chest." Ronar said as Az did as he said.

"Now, this will allow you to break the barrier that has stopped you from using it till now." Just as he said that, another blast of energy burst from Az's body for the 3rd time in the past two days.

"Ah, this is the purest mana I've ever seen in my lifetime. As expected of the son of the two greatest mages alive. Congratulations on becoming a level 1 mage." Ronar said.

This time, Az knew that this guy was not just bootlicking this time around as that was exactly as it was stated in the book. It was stated that Az, even in the book, had the purest mana in the history of Atsolaes.

The purity of mana didn't have any correlation to how fast a mage would grow, but a mage with higher purity of his mana would always be stronger than one of the same level with less pure mana.

"Alright, your highness. Today, I will teach you how to use some basic spells." Ronar said and Az nodded, excited.

5 hours later, Az had realized something. Ronar had no sense of teaching. He was enthusiastic about it, and he managed to learn basic telekinesis and a spell called torch which was used in the dark to light things up, but he learned it from the books not by listening to his lesson.

As he was thinking this, "You seemed quite disappointed, Az." He heard a familiar voice.

"Mom." He said in excitement. "I'm happy to see you, but what are you doing here?"

"Well, let me reintroduce myself. I am Diana Bloodfallen, your theory teacher for the next 3 years. By theory, it will include etiquette, history, geography and everything else." Diana said.
