Eline slumped into a chair after finishing her works in the library and remembered the dumbest decision she took this morning. ' Why didn't I think of oversleeping? Why the fuck did I freaked out? Uff....I hope I don't mess up this mission anymore. I fucked up on the first day..who am I kidding? No I have to complete this mission. I must not mess things up ' she thought standing up and walking towards Lyra.
As she reached the front desk, Lyra is typing the details of the books sold today. Eline started the conversation so normally that noone would suspect her intentions. "Hi mam!" Lyra looked up from the computer screen shifting her gaze towards Eline and raising a brow. " I just finished all my works for today. I just came to invite you for lunch. Today's my first day at work so..I am throwing a party. It will be only two of us ".
" You wouldn't call that a party" A smooth but deep voice filled the cabin.
" What?"
" It wouldn't be a party if it is just the two of us. Anyways..I'm busy so...you go and enjoy your party. I'm not interested ".
Eline couldn't believe she just got rejected. Her eyes opened a bit wide and she quickly composed herself clearing her throat.
"It's okay if it's not a party. But I really would like to treat you to lunch for giving me this job. Please accept my request and let me show how grateful I am mam " Eline begged with empathic face and pleading eyes. Some hope rose in her chest after seeing Lyra thinking about her request. After so much thinking, which seemed like she's going to go with her for lunch Lyra added, "Better luck next time" With her mind bursting out of annoyance, Eline just smiled hiding the inner feelings and said "Okay. If you're so busy... we'll go out another day then" nodding curtly. Her legs turned towards the main door of the library automatically as she just walked out with a painful smile on her lips. Breathing out a sigh filled with frustration and disbelief, Eline walked out of the library and stomped her way towards the restaurant that is around the corner of same street.
"I won't stop trying. I would get close to you by the end of this month mam... Y'all can't take away my passion for becoming a special forces agent" Eline thought to herself with a determination in her voice after ordering her lunch.
LYRA POV
I looked up from the logbook and scanned my eyes inside the library. I sighed when I found that Eline has left for lunch. 'This girl is making me suspicious with her actions. I better keep an eye on her' I thought as I stood up from my chair and left the reception counter. Stuffing my mouth with the sandwiches I made for myself in the morning, I roam around the library with the lunch box in my hand. Checking all the book stalls if there's any mistake in arranging the books, I realised that Eline did the task correctly. My eyes scanning the books and their places, my mouth chewing the last piece of the sandwich, I closed my lunch box and walked towards the counter.
As soon as I sat before the computer, Eline walked through the door with her shoulders drooping and her face dull. "You look a little sad. What happened dumbass?" I asked her out of curiosity.
"All my plans are failing so miserably. I couldn't get to buy you a lunch and the restaurant didn't have my usual favourite item. I guess I woke up in the wrong side today. I even created a mess this morning " Her eyes aren't filled with tears or something. Instead, they are filled with genuine sadness.
"Don't be so dejected. You can buy me some garlic bread tomorrow " the words slip out of my mouth before I even realise what I am talking. I immediately placed my right hand on my mouth to stop it from making any more promises that I obviously can't keep.
"Really??!!!" Her face beamed with joy instantly with her lips forming a big smile.
"Maybe....Think of it as my sympathy for stressing over my health this morning" I blurted out frowning.
We go to our daily tasks and I complete my works silently just like I do everyday in my usual robotic life.
After the sunset, when the library is empty, I tell every staff that they can leave. Everyone exits the library after almost 30 minutes when they made sure that everything is set for closing the store.
Shutting down the computer, my mind starts wandering around the drama that happened in the morning. I think I can finally able to fix the puzzle.
'Eline worrying about me when I ran late for the library, the cars following me, and then, that motherfucker coming here admitting that he came to check my health....,
Woahh...Wha-...what the fuck?is Eline his employee? Are they trying to do something?I should do a background check on her as early as possible ' I am able to understand everything now. That idiot didn't came here just like that. I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I forgot it's time to close the library. I grab my car keys from the drawer I stormed out of the library closing it behind me and got into my car. Zooming through the city streets, I drive towards our house amidst all the blaring horns and blinding headlights.

Lyra slouched on the couch as soon as she reached their house. Leo who came back an hour before her, is working on his laptop at the couch sitting beside her. He darted his eyes towards her after he saw Lyra entering the house.
"You look stressed Vivi...what happened?"
"How do you know that I'm stressed?" Lyra asked him glancing at him.
"I know you too well sister!Perks of living together for almost 9 years now. Now tell me..what happened?"
Lyra blinked slowly with her eyes filled with adoration. "Nothing. It's just about some ant that has been bugging me. I'll take care of that soon. How's your fever?are you feeling good now?" She asked him placing her hand on his forehead.
"I'm fine" Leo said nodding.
"You don't look like you're okay...Are you sure you don't have a fever anymore?" Lyra reached to his forehead to check his temperature. Thankfully, he is fine.
" I don't have fever anymore Vivi...I am just tired. I worked hard today. I completed my assignments and finished the new project design. I'm fine now.. see!" Leo jumped at the spot to show her he is good. He sat back on the couch beside her and suggested "do you want to go out to get some fresh air? What about park?"
"Nah.. that's okay bubs. I don't want to tire you more. I will be alright after getting a good sleep. You need to rest too. What should I do for dinner?"
" Mmmm...let's just order food Vivi. You didn't sleep last night too. I want some soup and milk bread " He said after thinking for a second.
" Okay" Lyra said and opened her phone to place the order. Adding some garlic and milk bread,soup and some fries with them she made the payment for the delivery. They spent 20 minutes chatting about Leo's day until the delivery man rang the door bell.
After stuffing their stomach with food they went to their respective rooms wishing each other goodnight.
Leo slept as soon as he laid on his bed as he took medicine for fever. Meanwhile, Lyra couldn't sleep because of all the confusion she has about Eline and Felix.
LYRA POV
My body is tired but my mind fully awake. I couldn't even sleep a wink even after 3 hours of laying on bed unmoved. My thoughts are filled with her.
'Could they be related?Is she working for him? She looks too timid to be a spy. Maybe that's what I think? But how can she be a secret agent? She's too bubbly to be an agent. Am I getting the wrong idea? What if they do something to Leo??!!' a dark devil appeared inside my mind.
'no no!we can't possibly think like that. Eline is a good girl. We can't suspect everyone we meet idiot!' an angel argued with the devil inside my mind.
'Haha jokes on you! Why should we treat everyone we meet so nicely when we can create absolute drama? I sincerely doubt Eline is upto something ' the devil spoke with a mocking voice.
' Don't tell me to keep my kindness in check. You should be the one to keep your rudeness in control. Eline almost thought that we are rude yesterday!' the angel yelled.
' Why do you care about her so much!!??we should be worried about her intentions. You're a crybaby. Just be quiet like you've always been. I'll take it from here'
The imagination in my mind went crazy that I had to shake my head to clear these idiotic conversations between angel and devil in me. The devil always had an upperhand. ' No we need to focus. I need to know her background '.
I thought in my mind and took my phone from the nightstand. Dailing Sabrina's number , I placed the phone to my ear.
"Hello?" Sabrina asked in a sleepy voice.
"Where are you?"
"Umm...at the cafe??? Why?"
"I need you to check on someone. I'll send the details"
"Who-" I cut the before she asks anymore questions. Sending her the details of Eline through text, I waited for her reply.

I saw her message and waited for the reports. Those 10 minutes seemed like an eternity. Suddenly my room seems bigger and looks like it needs some reorganizing , out of boredom. Staring at the ceiling with my body in a relaxed position, my mind rather perplexed. My eyes almost gave up waiting when I felt them getting heavy with each passing second due to tiredness.
Just when I am drifting into sleep my phone pinged with a notification illuminating the whole room with the brightness of it's screen. I jolted awake by the familiar sound and unlocked my phone. And opened the message inbox.

Lyra woke up with a startle an hour before even her alarm rang. It's still a little dark outside but the weather is a bit warm like the sun is ready to rise, getting up from her bed, she stared out of her window casually when she noticed a black tinted car resting at the end of the street, she frowned while watching the car which looks exactly like the cars from yesterday's morning incident.
"What the fuck? This dumb motherfucker's gonna die in my hands, if he keep at this stalking thing' .she spoke to herself while watching the resting car. She stayed there until sunrise for about 25 minutes. Neither the car moved, nor did she. She kept watching the car out of corner of the window opening the curtains a little bit. Not too much that someone might see her and not too little that she couldn't get the view of the car clearly. Just enough so that she can see the car and noone would suspect there is a girl desperately trying to see who's inside the vehicle parked at a distance.
"What are you doing there you son of a bitch? I'll kill you if you do anything stupid. " She mumbled to herself still looking at the car trying to figure out what's happening inside.
The room resonated the alarm sound from her mobile depicting that it's 6'O clock. She frowned when the headlights of the car are turned on. The spitting black figure of the car started to move after that. When the car left the place and disappeared from her sight, Lyra sighed and got into the shower to start her day.
She left the house at 8'0clock along with Leo. Dropping him off at his college, she drove to the library. Parking her car at the parking lot, she removed her seatbelt and when she just about to open the car door, she saw Eline talking to someone on the mobile outside the library. Lyra stopped her hand on the door handle and stayed inside the car. She observed Eline's every gesture and tried to read her lips. But because she's too far away from Eline, she couldn't decipher what she's talking.
Lyra got down from the car and locked the car manually without making any noise. She walked casually and extremely slowly without Eline noticing and went behind her back. Lyra hid behind a pole that's wide enough to hide her small figure and tried to hear the conversation.
To anyone who's watching the scene from distance,it seemed like Lyra is spying on Eline. Like she is trying to hear the conversation and spill the information to someone dangerous. But the actual scene is different. It's like a cat trying to catch the rat that has been working for other cat. Infact she is spying on Eline. She stayed in her position without any movement to hear whom she's talking to.
