"I mean let's think of a name for our baby, Priscoll said.
I was taken aback by his sudden interest in naming our child. What makes you think I want your input? I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral.
Priscoll shrugged. We're having a child together, Joanna. I think it's only fair that we both get to choose a name.
I hesitated, unsure of what to do. Part of me wanted to tell him to leave me alone, but another part of me thought that maybe, just maybe, we could find some common ground.
"Fine", I said finally. "What names do you like?"
"For a girl, we could choose from Joanne or Lily or Eva, Priscoll said. And for a boy, we could choose Michael, Ethan or Liam"
"I like those names, I said, trying to sound calm. But I never thought you'd be so interested in naming our child."
Priscoll shrugged.
"I'm just trying to be a good father, he said. And I think it's nice that we can agree on something."
