Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Xander walked out of the mall with relief filling his vein and as usual his assistant was behind him.

"I believe it is better to draft out a contract for future purpose" Hunter said when they entered the backseat of the car.

"That make sense, draft a contract and I would review tomorrow before Randy signs it" Xander said, opening the first three button of his shirt and sighed.

"Okay sir" Hunter said and adverted his eyes from his boss.

The car stopped at Xander's home, he ordered the driver to give Hunter a ride back.

Xander made his way to the elevator that led the his suite on the second floor. He expected to his brother there since he had moved in with him and is likely to be back from school.

Trent was in his final year of high school and would graduate the coming summer. Xander arrival was a bit of relief to Max as the one that handled anything with his schooling. The former chairman care less about his training because he was focused on getting his first son back.

"You are finally here" Xander was pulled out from his thoughts. He saw Trente standing in front of him with a opened box of pizza in one of his hands and the other aiding a slice of pizza into his mouth.

"Were you waiting for me? I'm touched" Xander teased and made his way into the kitchen for a glass of water.

"Don't make me throw up, Max is waiting for you in the sitting room" Trente said while chunking another slice of pizza into his mouth.

"Eat slowly or you would choke" Xander said, furrowing at him. He took the glass of water and went to see Max.

"I thought you would have go back to your family" Xander said with a monotonous voice.

"There is where I'm supposed to be if you hadn't missed your ex wife appointment" Max said in sarcasm

"Oh, I forget, I would tell Hunter to move her appointment to next week"

"Are you ready to meet her again?" Max asked concerned

"I don't know, I don't know how I feel, I just feel numb" Xander said and sighed.

"It's alright, take it slow" Max said calmly and continued "That's not the only reason I came, your father wants you to join him in a car race on Wednesday" Max informed and examined the new chairman expression.

His blank expression was replaced by a worried one. He hadn't seen his father since the dinner they the other day. He wasn't sure how to relate with his newly found father but he was glad that his father wasn't forcing a relationship that isn't there.

"Okay, I would be there just send the location to the driver" Xander said, overwhelmed by how fast everything was moving and changing.

Xander expectation on going to the race track was that their would be lot of car racers and crowd hailing them like he saw on internet. What he didn't expect was that it did be empty with only a few invited people there.

He watched as his father ride round the huge race track with a red race car, he wondered if this was his hobby when he was younger.

Cameron gracefully came down from the car and smiled happily at his children. Xander subconsciously smiled back.

"It's been long time since he had been so carefree like this" Max said in a low voice filled with nostalgia.

Xander broke out of his subconscious trance as felt a sudden pang in his chest. He didn't understand what he felt but as he got close to the his father the feeling became more prominent. The only name he could give this feeling was "lost".

He finally understood why he wasn't quick to have a close relationship with his father, it was all because he was he was scared to lose him.

As long he could remember the only he counted was his lost. His first lost was his mother, then came his wife and daughter. At thought of this, he felt his heart strings been tugged painfully. He doubted if he would finally get her back or she is long gone like his mother and wife.

His most recent fear was what if his father also disappeared after he opened up to him, it would be one heartbreaking lost.

He blinked his eyes quickly and bit his inner cheek to subdue his tears.

He force himself out from his sad thoughts and noticed Max was no longer beside him, he had long been replaced by Hunter and his his father called for Max attention.

He saw his younger brother reluctantly talking to an unfamiliar person. He had met everyone in track at least once expect for this new man.

"Who is that?" he asked Hunter in a low voice

"Who?" the assistant asked back, looking for who his boss his referring to.

"That man in white leather jacket talking to Trente" he explained specifically. Hunter gulped and hesitated to answer.

"That's Mike, he runs a new company in the business circle, it is more like a family business too and he is the new man your ex wife is dating" Hunter answered, carefully watching as his boss reation changed from numbed to sadness then to anger.

He thought he was going to use that day as a break from his revenge plan but looking at the man that replaced him in the Dally family and plan to replace as the father of his child if he doesn't get her back.

It was only a matter of time for Emily to grow up and forget him and think this new son in law was his father. How would treat her at that time? He would surely enjoy the things he was unable to because the new man wasn't as poor as he was then.

He felt angered and the need to do something unless he would lose his daughter to this stranger.

"Are you alright?" Hunter asked concerned, this was a certain accent in his voice, it sounded like a Russian accent. The assistant bit his lower lip at his slip and was glad that Xander was too angered to notice.

"Yeah, I am get Randy on the line" Hunter quickly called Randy who answered after two rings.

"Hello, baby" Randy said in flirtatious tone

"You don't need to act like my girlfriend now, I need you to something important for me" Xander said in a dead tone

"What is it?" Randy asked all serious.

After the phone call with Randy, Xander walked over to Mike and Trente.

"Hello, You must be Mike, let's have a race, just me and you"
