"Darling... are you okay?"
Momo silently looks out of the window of the tower they happened to be in for her father's meeting. She was still grieving, the girl who had that same look in her eyes as Renho. Gone. It tore her apart inside that this had happened, that it was allowed to happen. She couldn't progress her dream of helping the world at such an awful place could she? But then, Shiketsu was so far away...
"I... I think so." Momo sighs.
Mr Yaoyorozu puts an arm around his daughter which she leans into.
"Whatever you decide to do darling, me and your mother will support you a 110%." her father states. Momo forces a smile, she didn't want him to be sad because of her.
"Thanks, father."
"Are you sure you wanted to attend this meeting with me? I'm sure there's other things you'd rather be doing. Or people you'd be seeing." her father asks. But Momo just holds onto her father's arm. He nods to himself, getting the message loud and clear.
"Father... I'm not sure I want-"
A door clunks open and footsteps are heard.
"Ah! Yaoyorozu! It's a pleasure and an honour sir." says the orange haired man. Momo's shoulder is squeezed by her father as he gets up and firmly shakes the hand of the man he'd arranged to meet.
"Mr Yotsubashi, the pleasure is all mine. It's a shame we finally make one another's acquaintance under such grave circumstances." replies her father.
"I agree. A tragedy indeed; hopefully that poor girl can find some peace in what lies beyond this world." responds Mr Yotsubashi. Both men sharing a solemn look, Momo could tell that her father had gestured to her in some way as Yotsubashi changes his focus. "and who might you be young lady?" he asks.
"Momo Yaoyorozu, it's a pleasure to meet you sir." she responds standing up. Yotsubashi smiles and bows his head slightly.
"I'm so terribly sorry that you had to endure such as terrible ordeal Ms Yaoyorozu. But please don't let that lay waste to your potential. If you're a Yaoyorozu, you're more than capable of changing the world like your father here."
Momo smiles softly at that remark; it was nice to hear such encouraging words from someone like this. Especially after the events of the previous days.
"Yotsubashi, I entrust you've heard the stories regarding the foundation's financial comings and goings?" asks her father. The orange haired man turns and nods.
"More than stories at this point aren't they?" jokes the CEO. Her father couldn't help but smirk at that, she always admired how her father was so composed and confident in the field of business.
"Indeed."
"Shall we get started then? Momo would you like to join us for this meeting? I warn you thought, it might drag on a bit and be a bit dull." asks Yotsubashi. Momo smiles at the small joke, she looks towards her father who shrugs his shoulders.
"Up to you kiddo." he states. Momo thinks for a moment, she wanted to stick with her father on one hand, but on the other those words of encouragement from Mr Yotsubashi made her desire to be proactive.
"If I may. I've just realised that there is something that could be more entertaining for you here? We actually have some staff members training downstairs, perhaps you'd like to watch? We can come and meet you once we're done." invites Yotsubashi.
Huh, that could be good. The word training still held a bit of a taboo in her head as she had started to associate it with what had happened at the entrance exam. But, maybe that was a good thing, it could help take her mind off of it for a while.
"Okay, yeah, sure." replies Momo.
"Go to the elevator you came up in and press the big button marked 'T'. You'll find it on your own from there." instructs the CEO. Her father ruffles her hair gently as he puts an arm around Mr Yotsubashi and they begin to walk together to the office. Momo smiles after her father as she heads towards the elevator, walking inside and clicking the 'T' button. The elevator smoothly starts to descend.
'People training their quirks... I want to do that with mine... But every-time I try I can't help but imagine the people who've left me behind. I am even allowed to feel grief like this? I hardly knew either of them... I don't know anymore.' Momo thinks to herself for the duration of the descent, her thoughts interrupted by a small ding as the elevator doors open up to a training complex, or at least the edge of one. Immediately she hears the crashing and bashing of two extreme forces against one another. She walks around the bleachers to the main compartment of the arena and leans on the wall to see the two people training. One who was wearing a big blue coat and another who was... glowing gold? Either way they were throwing powerful attacks at one another.
"NO! You need to put all of your force into these attacks!" berated the one in the blue coat.
"If I go too powerful at the start with my physical attacks then I'll have nothing left at the end! My stamina isn't as good as yours yet!" shouted the glowing one.
The one in the coat summoned a massive column of ice up which caused Momo's jaw to drop as he hurled it towards the one who was glowing who miraculously propels themselves out of the way, right by the side of arena where she was standing. Before he fires off a golden beam of what looked like energy straight at the one in the blue coat. Actually hitting him and knocking him down to the ground. However it's almost immediately that he's on his feet again, dusting himself down.
"Not good enough! Far too weak! Don't you fucking dare hold back on me! Three weeks we've been at this and you still can't bring yourself to blast me with your full power? A meta-ability as luxurious as Energy Manipulation is wasted on you!" shouts the coated man.
"I'm worried I'm gonna hurt you, okay Geten! I've never tried blasting someone at full power with a beam before." sadly says the glowing one.
Momo wondered if these two were actually good co-workers or even liked one another given the amount one happened to be insulting and out right shouting at the other.
"What if that were to happen in a life or death situation!? What if the fluctuation in your power was the difference between you living and dying, or someone you care about living or dying? What then?!" the coated one shouts as they propel themselves forward towards the glowing one with another column of ice sending them that way. They formed two great ice blades over their hands as they fly, the glowing one having to jump back to get space from the attack, however the hooded one persists and lunges in with their frozen blades, the glowing one on the defensive.
"FIGHT" shouted the hooded one who has a blade blocked and is then kicked down the arena, but immediately lunges in again at top speed.
"Always fight like your life depends on it Stark!" bellows the coated man as his frozen blade neutralises a golden punch from the glowing one, back handing him in the face with a mighty punch and the glowing one drops to the floor. Panting. His glow dissipating. "Because one day. It will." he says as he fires a pillar of ice at the formerly glowing one, launching him backwards down the arena.
Momo couldn't help but feel the words of the coated man strike a chord in her, such desire and passion to win no matter the odds or situation. So much so that when she sees the glowing one go flying; her body moves on its own as she hops the wall of the training arena. Chasing after the defeated staff member.
'Consider this your first lesson Yaoyorozu. You don't have to save everyone' the words from her trial echoing in her mind as she sees the staff member land in a heap on the floor. Her speed only increases as she sees this happen.
'Sorry. But that's just who I am. If someone looks like they need help. I'll help them. I'll worry about the consequences later!' she thinks to herself as her trainers start to smoke and she jumps forward into the air with them, flying through the air and landing next to the defeated person. Her skin glows as she creates a bandage in her palm.
"Hey. Are you okay?" Momo asks.
The staff member on the floor rubs their head as he turns to meet her. His blue eyes shimmering with a hint of gold.
"Y-yeah I'm fine. Just... wait, who are you?" he asks.
Momo puts on her warmest smile.
"Momo Yaoyorozu. I'm here to help."
