"You okay?" asks a cold voice.
Momo turns as she sees the coated man approaching them, she stays quiet whilst she wraps a bandage around this one's head.
"Yeah... All good. Since when do you care anyway?" he asked softly.
"If you die before I see you at full power, I'll kick you ass." sighs the coated man.
Momo ties the bandage into a neat little not and gently pats it. That medical course that she attended really was coming good.
"There. All finished." she declares
Samuel rubs his head where the cut was, it felt better already.
"Thank you... I'm-"
"You're Stark right?" she says smiling. Samuel blushes and nods a bit, she must've heard the shouting between himself and Geten.
"Samuel Stark. Yeah. Thanks for all that Momo." he says shyly.
"Dangerous of you to jump out though. What if I'd fired out again?" asked Geten.
"Oh. Well. Uh..." Momo said looking down and kicking the floor gently. Oh great here it comes again; a ticking off for doing the right thing. Wait, was that applause she could hear?
"My dear! What bravery and determination! To throw yourself into the chaos without regard for your own safety to help someone, how truly amazing!" said the woman walking over. Momo couldn't help but beam slightly.
"Oh! Uh, thank you miss!" she says. Wow. A compliment!
"I'm Chitose Kizuki! It's an honour my dear, I trust you've already spoken with our beloved Geten and Samuel?" Curious replies sincerely.
"Yes! I was invited to watch them work; but I kinda interrupted..." Momo feels a nudge on her shoulder.
"Honestly? I really appreciate the thought." Samuel interjects. Momo turns around to see the thankful look on Samuel's face, she couldn't help but smile at him.
"Could've accidentally squashed her with my ice... All I'm saying."
"But Geten, you said your attacks are always surgically precise?"
Geten sighs out from inside his coat.
"You'll need another bandage Stark if you keep talking like that." he replied coldly. Samuel looks away. The mood was light hearted around here; something that Momo could appreciate. Well, at least she thought Geten was joking.
"Now now boys, you're getting off topic. Tell me my dear, what's your ability?" smiles Ms Kizuki.
"Creation. If I know what it's made of then I can make it!" Momo declares triumphantly. Curious' eyes sparkle with delight.
"What a wonderful blessing! With an ability as unique as this, you could do so many extraordinary things!" she replies. Momo couldn't help but feel a little snag on her person at that comment, as lovely as it was.
"Yeah... I don't know what to do though."
"Why?"
"I... Everything I try to do or want to do seems to blow up in my face." Momo sadly says. She feels a warm hand rest itself on her shoulder, Ms Kizuki's.
"I meant, why do you feel that you should know what you want to do? Fixed plans are all well and good but in a life as crazy as ours it can't possibly stick for long. In all honesty my dear I'm not sure either of those two boys imagined themselves wanting to beat each other up did they?" Curious implies gesturing to Samuel and Geten. Samuel of whom gets a little flustered.
"I... I don't want to beat Geten up." he timidly replies
"This is why you've never beaten me."
"Give it a rest already would you?"
Momo couldn't help but giggle hearing the two of them bicker. Given the intensity and hardships of the last few days, being in an atmosphere was good for her. It helped give her clarity as she opens her mouth to talk.
"I want... I want to just help people. Make the world a better place where everyone can be at ease. Make it so that there aren't anymore people who have no-one to turn to." she declares. Samuel couldn't help but look away hearing that speech, a feeling that he knew all too well. Kizuku however smiles with pride.
"You're going to achieve incredible things Ms Yaoyorozu... It appears your dreams seem to align with that of our Detnerat organisation. You've seen what we do yes?" she inquires.
"My father has noted your work for years. Being a benefactor to those less fortunate and supplying equipment to agencies who have been left high and dry by the commission. I believe he intends to to pool the finances that used to go into the commission into your organisation. Given it's reputation." replies Momo.
"Ah! Then we could be seeing a lot more of one another it seems, well I hope our paths cross again! Oh Geten; we have our meeting with Mr Hanabata, we'd better be off." Curious speaks warmly looking at Momo before walking away from the arena, Geten sighs as he follows after her.
"Practise until I get back Stark."
Samuel nods as he stretches out and lets his golden aura leak out again. Ready to train solo.
"What's it like here?"
Samuel almost jumps, he turns back around to see Momo still standing there.
"Oh, uh, are you talking to me?" he asks.
"Yeah! Of course!" Momo replies, nodding her head enthusiastically. Samuel's glow dissipates back into his body, the training could wait. The last time he spoke to someone outside of Detnerat was... Izuku.
"Oh. Well, it's nice... I think so anyway. Everyone's very friendly." he declares.
"That'd make a nice change; most of the people from where I was seemed very... unfeeling." Momo adds.
"Yeah.... I get exactly what you mean."
"Oh, did you go to the UA trials too? I'm sorry I must've not seen you." Momo says, worried that she'd neglected this person she'd just met, fortunately Samuel shakes his head.
"No no. I was in a hero academy though... But the less said the better." nervously laughs Samuel. Momo realises that there was some form of emotional baggage there, so she wouldn't pry into his life story. "It's such a shame what happened to that candidate though. Ochako Uraraka."
Momo couldn't help but feel like she'd just been punched in the gut, to even hear her name. It was just... It was...
"She was lovely. She was really pure hearted."
"Oh I'm so sorry. Did you know her?" Samuel asks.
Momo looks away from the conversation, trying her best not to go to pieces in front of him.
"Not really. Not as much as I'd have liked to know her. Hell I'm not even sure I'm even allowed to feel like this... This worked up. How can one mourn someone they hardly knew?" she asks. Samuel's face grows solemn.
"Because even though they weren't around long, they helped you to feel like yourself."
Momo looks back to Samuel; who had the exact same pained look in his eyes that she knew she had too.
"I'm so sorry." Momo mutters.
"Me too." Samuel replies.
The two sigh. For a pair of people that had only just met, this conversation was getting really deep. Momo thought that she should lighten it up a bit.
"I just want to do good? You know?" Momo says.
"Well if you're going to UA you should be able to do some good there, right? Learning to be a pro hero?" Samuel replies.
"I'm not sure I want to though. That's the problem Stark. Albeit I've not met many people there, but the ones I have met all seem so... so..."
"Off? Like they seem out of place?"
"Yeah! Like this one guy kept telling me to be quiet and then proceeded to be an arrogant shouting ass! Like c'mon!" Momo shrugs. "I thought I'd be surrounded by like-minded and good people. Instead it's just sad and uncaring... Sorry, I shouldn't vent all of this to you, you've probably got better things to be doing." she says sitting down on the floor. Samuel thinks for a moment before sitting down on the floor in front of her too.
"Well, If you wanna do good, how would you do it?" he asks.
"As long as I help one person, I'll be happy. Like, bring some good back into the world." she replies.
"You can do good here? It's not as flashy as a hero course and it might not get you all of the fame and fortune but it could work out? Also it might not happen right away and there's a tonne of boring meetings. But. From what I've learned in my life: it doesn't matter how big the change is, it always starts with one person." Samuel says.
Momo smiles.
"That's... really wise. You think I could manage it?" she asks, Samuel nods. There's a small chime heard and a clunk followed by laughter. Mr Yotsubashi and Mr Yaoyorozu walk around the corner to see their two responsibilities sat with one another.
"Ah! Samuel! Good to see you my boy. I see you've met Ms Yaoyorozu. Well Momo; how was the training session?" asks Yotsubashi.
Momo thinks for a moment. She didn't care about being in the public eye, she didn't care about all the fame and fortune, she wanted to be like her father in that regard. She wanted to help people as quickly and efficiently as possible, people like Renho, people like Ochako. If this was the avenue where she good do the most good for the world, as quickly as she can. She was going to take it.
"Father, Mr Yotsubashi. I don't want to attend UA, I'll be rejecting my place. I want to help people and make the world a better place. I feel that the best place for this dream to come true would be here at Detnerat, so please sir I ask you with all respect; please allow me to join your organisation." Momo asks as she bows before her father and the CEO.
Her father smiles hearing that, she'd not seen her daughter this fired up since her first hero trial. Mr Yotsubashi smiles as well.
"Ms Yaoyorozu, we'd be honoured to have you join us."
The Yaoyorozu family as a dependable ally. Jackpot.
