Chapter 21 - chapter 21

The next day, Shouta woke Izuku at 11:15 am claiming that the teen needed to get ready to head down to the station. Shouta watched as Izuku groggily got out of bed and left the boy to his devices.

It was 15 minutes later when the boy walked out of his room, hair attempted to be tamed, teeth brushed and clothes on. He wore his favorite pair of ripped black jeans and a pre-quirk era band t-shirt with the sleeves cut off to the middle of his torso, over a black skin tight long sleeve shirt. Shouta didn't know the band, but he appreciated that the boy at least wore an undershirt with the ripped t-shirt.

Handing Izuku his own plate of toast and eggs, because he doesn't know how to cook all that well and Hizashi is at the studio, he sipped on his cup of black coffee. The moment Izuku finished his food, the kid jumped from his seat and ran to the genkan to put on his black combat boots.

'Does the kid not wear anything other than combat boots?'

"Alright kid. So we'll stop by the station to give your statement, which shouldn't take more than one to two hours, give or take a few minutes. After that we can stop by the mall and you can get some new clothes or things for your room if you want." Shouta explained.

Izuku nodded in confirmation that he understood and stood up from where he was tying his shoes. Turning around, the kid gave him a Cheshire grin and asked, "You mind if I summon Kizu to hang out with me in the station?"

Shouta felt dread crawl up his spine but sighed and responded with a "sure go for it kid" anyway.

Shouta sighed and hustled the Problem Child and dire wolf out the door.

When they got to the car, Izuku slid into his seat before Kizu slid in after him, resting her head on his lap.

The ride to the station was quiet, the only sound being Hizashi's station playing as background noise. Every now and then, Shouta would hear the kid softly humming along to the song, Kizu chirping along when she felt like it. To put it simply, it was very domestic.

Arriving at the station, Kizu stood next to Izuku as the two confidently walked into the building like he owned the place. And, Shouta supposes, to any outsiders, a kid with a tamed dire wolf walking into a police station would own the place.

Officers stopped what they were doing and stared at the smaller purple a raven haired teen warily. Shouta walked up to the receptionist desk and asked for Tsukauchi. They were directed to the detective's office and Izuku signaled for Shouta to go ahead because the kid wanted to let Kizu get used to the station and not be stressed. So that's what Shouta did.

Shouta rapped his knuckles on the wooden door, opening it when a soft yet loud "come in" could be heard. He left the door open which caused Tsukauchi to look at him strangely.

"Where's the kid?" Tsukauchi asked, looking up from the pile of paperwork in front of him.

"He's here, he just has to let someone get used to the place so they're not stressed." Shouta replied, taking his seat across from the detective. He took the seat farthest from the door, not wanting Izuku to feel trapped.

"Who is this someone? I thought it was just going to be you and the kid coming here." Tsukauchi said, pushing the pile of paperwork to the side.

"I'd tell you but I don't think the kid would appreciate me ruining the surprise." Shouta said, leaning back in his chair.

"Whaㄧ"

A loud yipping could be heard throughout the station as a purple dire wolf made her way into the detective's office. Tsukauchi looked from the wolf to Shouta and the hero only shrugged in response.

The sound of giggling could be heard (No Hizashi I did not smile at the sound. Shut up) and the detective and hero both looked at the door where Izuku now stood with Kizu right by his side, tail wrapped protectively around the kid's waist.

"Yo! Wassup detective? Miss me or have you forgotten your favorite vigilante already?" The kid asked cheekily.

The detective on the other hand, paled, then brightened, then looked between the hero and the newly acclaimed vigilante in confusion. Yeah ok maybe Shouta should have warned the detective about this ahead of time, but the kid had asked him not to and who is he to go against that?

"Uh, right, ok." The detective said, oh so elegantly.

Izuku laughed at the detective's expression. The man looked so utterly confused. Izuku watched as the man looked between him and Aizawa, as he'd prefer being called outside of patrol.

Aizawa just nods at the detective in silent confirmation that the kid in front of them is indeed the vigilante Black Wolf.

"Ok wait but then what's your quirk if it's not to do with knives?" Tsukauchi asked curiously.

Izuku explained how his quirk worked and how it technically does have something to do with knives, since he really prefers summoning them 95% of the time unless there's a situation that makes his knives useless. Kizu walked up to the chair next to Aizawa, sniffed it once then barked. Izuku grinned and perched himself on the chair, not at all sitting on it properly, but who's going to stop him?

Izuku stared Tsukauchi in the eyes. Izuku continued staring at the man, unblinking, for several more seconds before Aizawa wrapped the teen in his scarf and pulled him back.

Like a spell had been broken, Tsukauchi visibly relaxed in his seat. Fixing the tie around his neck, Tsukauchi cleared his throat before looking back at the hero and now affirmed vigilante.

Izuku grinned at the effect he had on the detective. Kizu sat down on the floor next to his chair and Izuku rested a hand on her head. A sort of comfort for what he knew was about to come.

"Right. Ok so this was at first going to just be about your statement on the attack at the USJ, but I was informed by Aizawa that you may also wish to speak about the abuse your motherㄧ"

Izuku cut him off, not wanting to refer to that woman as his mother, "Inko." He corrected.

Tsukauchi cleared his throat again. "Right, Inko. My apologies. So you would like to give a statement about the abuse Inko put you through and where to go from there." He reiterated.

Izuku nodded in assent. "Right so let's get the USJ shit outta the way first, then talk about the bitch cause that's gonna take longer than 10 minutes."

Izuku ignored the grumbled "language" from the hero next to him, instead opting to look the detective in the eyes.

Shouta spaced out during Izuku's USJ recounting. He was there for most of what Izuku had done. Granted, he himself couldn't do anything because of the blood loss he got from Shigaraki disintegrating his elbow.

He did, however, tune back into the conversation when he heard Izuku spit out his mother's name with all the venom his voice could express. Shouta looked towards the teen to see the hatred seething behind his eyes and his hands clenched into fists in his lap.

"That bitchㄧ" he spat out "ㄧis anything but a mother. She is an alcoholic, an abuser, and a quirkist ass pieCE OF SHIT!" Izuku's voice climbed in volume the longer he went on.

Kizu was getting anxious in response to Izuku and Shouta wondered if it was a part of his quirk. He filed the thought away for later. Kizu started barking loudly as Izuku tried to calm down.

Tsukauchi and Shouta watched the ordeal, not hurrying Izuku in the slightest. Nor did they complain about Kizu's noise levels. No officers came to check on the situation as according to Tsukauchi, the detective had told them not to enter his office until Shouta and Izuku left the station.

Breathing finally slowing down, Izuku looked up at the two men and composed himself. Shouta now understood why his kid said it would take longer than 10 minutes. He never expected it to take that little amount of time with all the trauma that Izuku had, but he had a feeling they'd be here longer than just 30-40 minutes.

Izuku pat Kizu's head, quieting the dire wolf. Shouta watched Izuku string his thoughts together in his head for a few more minutes, before taking a deep breath and asking if Tsukauchi wanted to record what he was about to say. Tsukauchi nodded in appreciation and pulled out a recording device, pressing the on switch. Izuku, after a few more composing breaths, began from the beginning.
