Reed Richards stood tall, arms crossed as he stared at Aiden with a calculating gaze. His expression was calm, but there was an unmistakable tension in his stance. "I didn't want to doubt the son of a friend," he said evenly, "but you've left me no choice."
Aiden sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. He wasn't here to fight, but it was clear they weren't going to just let him explain. "Look, I get it," he said. "But I didn't come here to cause trouble. I came to investigate. Maybe even help you find out what happened."
Before Reed could reply, Johnny Storm stepped forward, his body already flickering with flames. His fists clenched, and his face was twisted in anger. "I don't care about your excuses," he snapped. "My sister is missing, and I'm gonna find her. If that means burning both of you, so be it."
Peter raised his hands defensively. "Whoa, whoa, let's all take a deep breath here," he said quickly. "I'm just here to help him find her. He's not lying."
Ben Grimm—The Thing—grunted, folding his massive arms. "Yeah? Then explain the damage done to S.H.I.E.L.D.," he rumbled. "Explain why instead of coming in like normal people, ya'll decided to sneak in."
Aiden narrowed his eyes. "S.H.I.E.L.D.'s situation has nothing to do with this."
Reed adjusted his gloves, his voice calm but firm. "Even so, you chose a rather…unconventional approach. I assume you didn't expect to waltz in here unnoticed?"
Aiden stayed silent for a moment before Peter awkwardly scratched his head. "Okay, well…technically, we did get past security."
Reed smirked. "Because I let you."
Aiden's brow twitched.
Reed continued, "An amateur hacker wouldn't have made it through my system. I wanted to see how far you'd go—what you'd do once you thought no one was watching."
Aiden exhaled sharply. This was getting more annoying by the second.
Aiden exhaled sharply, trying one last time to de-escalate the situation. "I'm not here to fight," he repeated, his voice firm. "I want to help find Sue—"
FWOOOSH!
A blast of scorching fire hurtled toward him as Johnny Storm snapped, sending a fiery inferno in his direction.
Aiden barely tilted his body to the side, the flames rushing past him as if they were nothing. His expression remained impassive.
Reed took a step forward as the Fantastic Four assumed battle stances, Spider-Man immediately following suit.
Aiden sighed again. They're really doing this, huh?
His tone turned sharper, more serious. "I'm going to say this one more time. I am not here to fight. You should seriously think about what you're doing—"
They didn't care.
The Thing lunged first, his massive rocky fist swinging down with the force of a wrecking ball. Aiden didn't move an inch, simply raising his one hand and stopping the strike in place.
Ben's eyes widened. "What the—?!"
Before he could react, Aiden's own punch slammed into his rocky frame. A sharp crack echoed through the room as fissures ran across Ben's stone-like skin, sending him staggering back.
Meanwhile, Johnny had turned his attention to Peter, launching another fiery burst.
Peter dodged nimbly, flipping over the attack. "Hey, man, I just said I wasn't involved!"
Johnny didn't listen. He rocketed toward Aiden, flames roaring as he came in hot, aiming for a direct hit.
Aiden simply reached up, grabbed Johnny's head mid-flight, and slammed him down into the ground.
BOOM!
A burst of flames erupted, the heat rippling through the air—yet Aiden stood unaffected, completely unfazed.
Reed's eyes widened as he stretched his arms forward, ready to intervene—only for Aiden to hurl Johnny straight into him, knocking him back before he could act.
Aiden's expression darkened. His eyes gleamed with a crimson glow, his pupils morphing into slitted dragon-like irises.
Then, his voice dropped into a deadly growl.
"Listen here, you stupid fucking retards…"
The air grew heavy around him as his aura flared.
"I am not someone you should be messing with. That little fire boy over there?" He gestured to Johnny, who groaned on the floor. "I could literally eat him. And you—" he turned to Ben "—you're just a pile of rock. I've blown apart entire mountains before."
Then, he set his burning gaze on Reed.
"And you… I could stretch you endlessly until I find your limit." His voice dripped with cold certainty. "So be very careful about your next move."
He stepped forward, closing the distance in an instant.
Reed barely had time to blink before Aiden was already in his face.
"If I wanted you dead… kidnapped… or tortured…" Aiden's voice was eerily calm. "I wouldn't need one of you. I'd have taken all of you at once."
Reed tensed.
"I am not joking when I say I can kill you."
The room fell into silence.
Aiden exhaled, his eyes slowly shifting back to normal.
"But I don't want to." His voice was softer now, but no less firm. "I just want to find my dad."
He looked at them all—Johnny groaning, Ben recovering, Reed calculating.
"So don't make this harder for me."
Reed hesitated.
He was a man of logic. A scientist. A strategist. And right now, his rational mind was screaming at him.
Aiden had displayed only a fraction of his abilities—yet he had stopped both Johnny and Ben without even trying.
Sure, neither Johnny nor Ben had gone all out… but let's be honest—was it really possible to kill the kid who had beaten Magneto and ten Sentinels alone?
No.
Reed knew it was impossible—at least, in their current situation.
So, he made the logical choice.
"…Fine," Reed finally said, his voice even. "We'll hear you out. I'm not trusting you yet… but I do believe that Jason would never betray us."
His gaze softened slightly. "He's worked with us for years… too long."
Reed fell silent for a moment, his mind drifting.
Jason Blake. SHIELD's assigned operative to the Fantastic Four. A good man. A damn good man. He had helped them so much—keeping them out of unnecessary conflicts, acting as their shield against government interference.
If it weren't for Jason, things with SHIELD would have been far messier.
And yet…
"The evidence…" Reed's voice dropped. "He was the last one to see Susan."
That fact alone made everything so much worse.
Aiden stayed silent, his expression unreadable.
Reed sighed, rubbing his temple before turning away. "Johnny. Ben. Enough."
Johnny groaned as he got back up, rubbing the side of his head. "Tch. Whatever…"
Ben cracked his rocky knuckles but ultimately let out a grunt. "Hmph. Fine…"
Reed turned back to Aiden and Peter.
"You two," he said, "come with us."
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"There's something I want to show you."
