After dispatching Damon to one of the forbidden zones, Lilith uncrossed her legs and let out a weary sigh. She knew what was to come next, and her intuition proved correct.
Suddenly, the space beside her distorted, and a tall figure emerged from the rift.
Standing nearly two-and-a-half meters tall, the newcomer's skin was a striking shade of blue. Two ivory horns protruded from his forehead, and his hair was as white as freshly fallen snow.
His face was undeniably handsome, with piercing purple eyes that conveyed a sense of otherworldly power. The man was clad in black armor that emanated a ghastly aura, and two swords hung at his sides, ready to be drawn at a moment's notice.
"No need for such formality when we are alone, Baalor," Lilith dismissed as the man in the armor was about to kneel before her.
Baalor accepted her words, but his face remained lowered. Sensing a headache coming on, Lilith said, "You can speak your mind, my friend."
Baalor and Lilith shared a bond that transcended the typical relationship between a vassal and their lord. They had grown up together, enduring the struggles from the bottom to the top side by side. Baalor had been there since the very beginning, witnessing the transformation of the once weak demon girl with a half succubus origin into an absolute monarch, standing on par with even the ancient fossils that had existed for eons.
In the treacherous demon realm, where betrayal was as common as breathing and trust was a rare commodity, Lilith held an unwavering trust in the man standing before her. She knew he would never betray her, just as she had never betrayed him. Lilith had once declared that she would rise to the top, and she had indeed achieved that goal, securing a larger stage and protecting Baalor.
Their relationship was akin to that of siblings, bound by an unbreakable trust despite the lack of blood ties. Baalor had become Lilith's right-hand man, the second-strongest being in the realm, privy to everything she did. He was always standing in her shadow, a loyal companion who had witnessed her ascension to the pinnacle of power.
Lilith could sense what was going on in Baalor's mind at the moment. That's why she felt a headache coming on, and she authorized him to speak his thoughts freely.
"Why did you do that?" Baalor asked.
"Do what?" Lilith responded, raising a question rather than answering, clearly intent on toying with him.
Knowing full well Lilith's nasty personality, Baalor sighed and decided to be direct, rather than suffer under her teasing.
"What I meant to say is, why did you create that thing?" Baalor asked.
Lilith frowned upon hearing Baalor refer to her creation in that way.
'It's unlike him to speak this way, he must be pretty upset. Could it be jealousy? How cute!' Lilith thought to herself.
"He is not a 'thing,' but my son, my creation. As such, you should refer to him by his name - Damon. And you know, he is your nephew," Lilith said firmly.
Baalor's expression crumbled for a moment. He seemed averse to the idea of calling Damon his nephew, for a reason even he couldn't identify. But he could only nod in response.
''Hah!"
Lilith let out a frustrated sigh as she massaged her forehead.
"I've already explained the reason to him, and you were there as well. I created him because I was bored and sought a source of entertainment. I used extremely precious materials to create him, and even I couldn't say for sure what he really is. But one thing is certain - he is exceptional and will carry out my wish to entertain me and create chaos."
Baalor was at a loss for words, unsure of how to respond. He remained silent for a moment before speaking.
"Even so, it's too risky, and the boy is too arrogant. I don't believe he will be able to accomplish his goal," Baalor said.
Lilith chuckled, amused by Baalor's uncharacteristically expressive reaction.
She snapped her fingers, and before them, numerous screens manifested, each displaying various scenes. On one screen, a young boy was scrounging for leftovers in a slum. In another, he had stolen food, only to be beaten violently, yet his eyes never lost their luster. Many such scenes were displayed, and Baalor was forced to admit that the boy's past strangely resembled their own.
Baalor continued to observe Damon's past objectively, and he couldn't help but admire the boy's resourcefulness. Damon was an orphan who had lived in the slums, constantly fighting for survival. He had resorted to dirty means, staining his hands, in order to achieve his dream of a better life. Baalor recognized that Damon, despite being neither knowledgeable nor particularly smart, was determined to reach his goal.
Damon's path to success, Baalor realized, involved using women. He became a gigolo, and from there, he learned the art of seduction, gradually rising through the ranks.
A few years later, the young boy had grown up and had many achievements to his name, living lavishly, possessing houses and cars. What was most shocking was that none of the things he possessed were bought by him, but by the women he had conquered and bedded.
Baylor watched in shock as Damon bedded the best women in his past world, devouring everything – the women, their assets, and even their husbands' assets. He devoured everything like a whale.
The young child from the slum had become one of the richest in his nation and had bedded the best women that world had to offer. He was standing at the summit, powerful because he had the world's powerful beings' women at his beck and call.
Naturally, living the life he lived and making many enemies along the way, it was a normal end for him, but Baalor was nonetheless shocked. He couldn't help but admit that the reason for Lilith's decision to choose Damon was that he was perfectly fit for achieving her goal.
And indeed, it was because of Damon's past that Lilith had chosen him.
"So you understand my choice, right?" she asked Baalor.
Baalor nodded, even if he didn't want to.
Lilith continued, "Imagine someone who had nothing and rose from the bottom to the top in the past, now possessing strength and background. What could he achieve? I shudder just by imagining how much entertainment, as well as chaos, he will bring."
Baalor shuddered, imagining this. After knowing Damon's past life, he was certain that the latter would create marvels with his new status. He was like an insatiable snake, ready to devour everything, and this was precisely what scared Baalor. The possibility of Lilith getting snatched away by this dangerous boy unsettled him, though he couldn't quite pinpoint why he didn't like Damon.
