Chereads / Tensura : [Charybdis] / Chapter 51 - Project-B

Chapter 51 - Project-B

As Charybdis entered the lab, she was greeted by the sight of a giant sphere with bands of light encircling it, and several cables extending from it into a large structure that looked like a hybrid of an engine and a pod.

This was the core of Project-B, her most ambitious goal, something she had been working on for six centuries.

Despite its incomplete state, Charybdis remained undeterred.

She understood the daunting nature of her ambition and the almost impossible goal she sought to fulfill.

She called for her lead researchers: a man named Marcel, and two others named Elysia and Daedalus.

They were attired in mechanical armor that whirred and shined as they moved, their faces covered by masks resembling plague doctors.

The mechanical hum of their suits filled the air as they approached her.

"So, how is the structural design of B coming along?" Charybdis inquired, her tone authoritative yet patient.

Marcel stepped forward, his voice tinged with weariness.

"We've yet to find a close-to-perfect structure without it having problems with other components. The integration issues are proving more complex than anticipated."

Elysia and Daedalus nodded in agreement, their body language conveying their shared frustration.

Charybdis regarded them for a moment, then spoke with a calm, steady voice.

"Failure and frustration are part of research. Each setback brings us closer to the solution. Continue refining the designs. Remember, our ambition requires patience and perseverance."

Her words, though simple, carried the weight of her centuries-long pursuit and the unyielding determination that had brought them this far.

She knew the path to greatness was fraught with obstacles, but she also knew that with each challenge overcome, they inched closer to achieving the impossible.

Charybdis watched them for a moment before turning her attention back to the giant sphere, the core of her dream, and the promise of what it could bring.

After her words of encouragement, Charybdis continued, "Now, can someone bring me the Cube?"

Daedalus's eyes lit up with enthusiasm as he quickly moved to retrieve the item.

He returned with a small 10 cm by 10 cm cube of blood-red color, presenting it to Charybdis with a sense of pride.

She smirked as she took the cube, feeling its smooth, cold surface. "Excellent work, Daedalus. This will be crucial for our next phase."

Daedalus beamed under her praise, his masked face unable to hide his excitement.

"Thank you, my lady. We've been working hard on perfecting its properties."

Charybdis nodded, "I can see that. You've all done well. I'll join you in the research after I finish some personal work."

With that, she turned and walked away, leaving her dedicated team to continue their efforts.

The cube in her hand broke apart merging with her being as her skin seemed to be seperated in peices of red similar to the cude her entire body refreshed rearranging itself in the same way as a rubik cube.

" Feels weird but it'll definitely be useful"

After integrating the cube's essence, Charybdis reappeared in the human realm.

Her form had undergone a dramatic transformation.

Her once purely spiritual body now resembled a Spiritul-bionic chimera, a harmonious blend of mystical and mechanical attributes and Living and Non living.

She soared into the outer atmosphere, leaving the Kingdom of Lanka far below.

The stars and the vast expanse of space framed her descent as she adapted her form to the high altitudes, her senses attuned to the myriad ways of perception.

Her body radiated with a faint, eerie glow, a side effect of the cube's influence.

Charybdis began her search with methodical efficiency.

She activated an array of sensors—magical detection to sense any residual energies, thermal imaging to detect heat signatures, spiriton analysis

, Soul fluctuations, and X-ray polarimetry to penetrate any obstructions.

The data streamed into her consciousness, an overwhelming flood of information.

Within moments, she zeroed in on a specific location: a set of ruins hidden within the remnants of a once-majestic palace, now a mere shadow of its former self.

This palace, ravaged by Ashoka's previous attacks, lay in a remote, secluded area, its once grand halls now crumbling and forgotten.

Charybdis descended rapidly through the atmosphere, her form sleek and agile against the sky.

The landscape below came into sharper focus as she approached.

Her flight path was direct, without any hint of hesitation.

The sight of the desolate palace grew clearer, its shattered walls and overgrown vines marking the place where Noir had last been seen.

Charybdis landed gracefully amidst the ruins, her bionic form shifting seamlessly back to her normal Form.

She surveyed the wreckage with a discerning eye, her sense allowing her to perceive even the smallest details in the devastation.

Finding Noir was more than just a step towards her goals—it was an opportunity to explore for something new.

---

Noir emerged from the ruins, his ever-present smile seeming to contrast with the devastation surrounding him.

His eyes gleamed with a mixture of curiosity and wariness as he regarded Charybdis.

"Ah, have you finally come to end me too?" he asked, his tone light but with an underlying tension.

Charybdis shook her head, her form shimmering slightly as she adjusted to the atmosphere.

"No," she replied, her voice carrying a hint of uncertainty.

The air between them grew thick with awkwardness.

Noir's usual eccentric demeanor seemed out of place in the tense silence that followed.

He shifted uneasily, glancing around at the remnants of the palace.

After a moment, Charybdis took a deep breath and decided to break the silence.

Her words came out hesitantly, an odd mix of discomfort and determination. "I as a dragon of this hybrid nature already have a very low fertility rate and combined with my hybrid nature I have an unpredictable ovulation cycle lasting of time period lasting Several between them" she began, her gaze dropping to the ground.

"And I don't want to waste this opportunity."

Noir's confusion deepened as he listened. "And… why am I involved in this?" he asked, genuinely puzzled by her strange explanation.

With a deep blush coloring her cheeks—something that seemed almost out of place given her well genral demeanor —Charybdis took another step forward. "I'm asking you to be my mate," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Noir's eyes widened in surprise, his usual playful demeanor giving way to genuine astonishment.

The awkward tension between them lingered, but Charybdis stood firm, her gaze meeting his with an earnest expression.

Despite the strange circumstances and her own discomfort, she was resolute in her request.

Even though it was weird to ask that from someone who she had erased the entire lineage of or someone who had once killed her.
