During the past month, Charybdis found herself growing bored of just playing and relaxing.
While she cherished the time spent with Milim, her restless nature craved something more challenging.
The peaceful surroundings of the Kingdom of Nasca were perfect for honing her magical skills and exploring new areas of magic.
Charybdis decided to refine her neglected magic , Wicked Light Ray.
She had always been proficient from the get go , but she wanted to perfect it and explore its potential further.
Each day, she practiced in a secluded part of the gardens, pushing her limits and experimenting with new techniques.
She also delved into her Summon Monster ability, researching and practicing summoning different creatures.
She aimed to improve her control and the power of the entities she could call forth.
Through her efforts, she discovered ways to enhance the summoned monsters, making them stronger and more resilient by mixing her ultimate skill's properties with them.
On a contrast Charybdis's curiosity about Holy Magic led her to seek guidance from one of the kingdom's mages, an elderly woman named Liora.
Liora was known for her mastery of Holy Magic and her unwavering faith in a god whose name Charybdis didn't bother to remember.
Despite her indifference to the deity, Charybdis was eager to understand the magic itself.
One day, after their usual training session, Liora explained, "Holy Magic is not just about purity or righteousness. It stems from devotion, a deep connection to a higher power."
Charybdis raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "So, it's the devotion that matters, not the holiness of your connection?"
Liora nodded. "Exactly. The strength of your faith and the sincerity of your devotion channel the magic. It's about focusing your will and believing in something greater than yourself."
Charybdis practiced the incantations and techniques Liora taught her, slowly becoming more proficient.
However, without true devotion, she found it difficult to cast more than the simplest of holy spells.
Frustrated but determined, she decided to find something she could genuinely devote herself to.
After much thought, Charybdis chose to worship the Voice of the World.
This mysterious entity was responsible for many aspects of her existence, guiding and influencing her life in subtle but significant ways.
It was the only being she could willingly devote herself to.
Channeling her devotion to the Voice of the World, Charybdis found that her holy magic grew stronger and more controlled.
She practiced diligently, and her sheer talent, combined with this newfound focus, allowed her to cast more powerful holy spells.
This choice gave her the connection she needed to truly harness Holy Magic, adding a versatile layer to her already formidable magical abilities.
One late afternoon, after a particularly intense practice session, Charybdis noticed Milim watching her with wide, curious eyes.
The young girl's enthusiasm was infectious, and Charybdis decided it was time to share her knowledge.
"Hey, Milim," Charybdis called out, a smile forming on her lips.
"Want to learn something cool?"Milim's eyes lit up, and she bounced over eagerly.
"Yes, please! What are we going to do?"
"We're going to learn how to perform the Light Ray," Charybdis explained, kneeling to Milim's level.
"It's a powerful magic, but I think you can handle it. Ready to give it a try?"
Milim nodded enthusiastically. "I'm ready! Let's do it!"
Charybdis guided Milim through the steps, her tone gentle but firm.
"First, you need to gather your magicules. Close your eyes and feel the energy within you. Let it flow through your body."
Milim closed her eyes tightly, her small hands clenched at her sides cutely.
Charybdis watched as the young girl began to glow faintly, her magicules responding to her call.
"Good, Milim," Charybdis encouraged. "Now, imagine that energy converging in your hands. Picture a beam of light from a star forming, ready to be released."
Milim's brow furrowed in concentration as she visualized the beam.
Slowly, a faint light began to gather in her palms, growing brighter and hotter with each passing second.
But as Milim tried to focus the energy, the light flickered and wavered, then fizzled out completely.
Frustration crossed her face as tears gathered in her eyes.
"It's not working, Charybdis! I can't do it!"
Charybdis knelt down beside her, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "It's okay, Milim Life is about failure."She placed a hand on her hand patting her fluffy hair " This isn't easy to learn , It takes time, only failure and learning eventuallyleads to succes."
Milim took a deep breath, her determination renewed, wiping her gathered tears.
She closed her eyes and began gathering her magicules once more.
The light started to form in her hands again flickering a deep blue different from Charybdis's general colourless or yellow, it flickered more intensely, struggling to maintain its shape.
"Keep focusing," Charybdis coached noting the anomaly silently.
"Don't let your frustration get the better of you. Control the energy, don't let it control you."
Milim gritted her teeth, her small body trembling with the effort.
The light flickered again, then steadied as she fought to maintain her concentration.
Finally, with a burst of determination, she thrust her hands forward.
A beam of bright light shot out from her palms, cutting through the air ar an angle and illuminating the sky as the beam exploded into tiny glowing jewels of magicules.
It wasn't as powerful as Charybdis's Wicked Light Ray, but it was a promising start.
Milim's face lit up with delight.
"I did it, Charybdis! I did it!"
Charybdis smiled, pride swelling in her chest.
"You did great, Milim. With practice, you'll get even better."
Milim beamed up at her cousin, her eyes shining with admiration.
"Thank you for teaching me, Charybdis. You're the best!"
Charybdis stood and ruffled Milim's hair affectionately.
"You're welcome, Milim. Remember, magic is about control and practice. Keep working on it, and you'll become even stronger." Pausing a bit she continued ,"Its the same for everything in life, you are a special kid Milim, don't let your mind get the better of you"
As she said that Milim could only nod with a blank look on her face while tilting her head cutely like an airhead.
Seeing this Charybdis chuckled and ruffled her hair once more causing an annoyed grunt from milim.
As they walked back towards the palace, Charybdis couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction.
Teaching Milim had been rewarding, and the bond they shared was growing stronger with each passing day.
The idea of nurturing and guiding a child of her own someday seemed more appealing than ever.
The month had been incredibly productive, and Charybdis felt more powerful and confident in her abilities than ever before.
Yet, amidst all her progress, the genuine longing for a child of her own remained, a dream she hoped to fulfill in the future.
