Emily, lying in her hospital bed, drifted off to sleep after a nurse administered a tranquilizer. When she awoke, night had already fallen, and the nurse had brought her dinner, which was now sitting untouched on the table. Emily, however, had no desire to eat.
There was a knock on the door, and Emily sat up, glancing towards it. "Please come in," she called out
The door creaked open, and Marx stepped inside, the faint outline of his neck tattoo visible in the glow of the incandescent lamp. Emily's eyes flickered with disappointment when she realized it was Marx who had entered.
"Emily, what are you even expecting?" she muttered to herself.
"Luna, I'm sorry to disturb you," Marx said, standing still. "Alpha said he's tied up with other matters, so he's asked me to take you back to the hotel first."
"Okay," Emily nodded. "I need to change my clothes. Please give me a few minutes."
