Klaus took his own exclusive seat, and by the time Marx arrived, he had drunk half a bottle of whisky himself.
"Are you in a bad mood today?" Marx sat down, and, as the beta next to Klaus, he quickly sensed Klaus's depression. There was a hint of concern in his voice.
"Did you quarrel with Luna?" Marx continued to ask, his voice cautious, not daring to touch one of Klaus's sensitive nerves.
Klaus poured a glass of wine for Marx and pushed it in front of him.
"Sort of." His voice was low and hoarse, as if every word had been squeezed from the depths of his throat.
"So, she's upsetting you, right?" Marx picked up his glass and peeked at Klaus. "Looks like you care about Luna."
"Of course, I care about her," said Klaus unabashedly, and there was a determination in his voice which gave way to a sense of helplessness. He did not want to hide his emotions from Marx, who was both his beta and his most trusted friend.
