Emily packed her personal belongings into a bag, with the exception of a few pieces of clothing and her diary. As she sat in the drawing room, bag in hand, Klaus's gaze swept casually over her, and he remained silent.
They left the room and took a royal carriage to the palace. Throughout the journey, Emily and Klaus sat opposite each other in the backseat of the carriage, in silence.
The frosty atmosphere persisted until they arrived at the palace, and as Emily stepped out of the carriage, Klaus offered to assist her, but she declined his offer.
As they entered the palace, two twin princesses, attired in matching yellow princess dresses, dashed towards them from the other end of the corridor.
"Klaus, you're back," one of the twins exclaimed to Klaus. "Maggie and I knew you were coming back, so we waited for you here."
"It was the king who asked me to move back to the palace," Klaus replied casually.
