Two months later...
"Hold still," Daphne said softly.
"Ow, that's not very gentle." Ned growled as Daphne helped slip on his jacket.
"Stop being a baby." She flashed him a smile.
"You won't even let me reach for the damn box of cookies." Ned said and buttoned his jacket in his living room. Kane circled around them, anxious to leave and stick his head out the window.
"You have two stitches, Ned , on your belly. If you rip one out, I'll stitch you, and won't be gentle about it." She threatened.
"It's almost healed anyway." Ned grumbled.
In a few hours they'd be in Denver for Christmas with his parents. His mom particularly could hold her excitement when he told her he'd met the love of his life and Daphne easily got along with his parents and brothers.
