(AZTEC'S POV)
"Alpha Aztec!"
The deep voice penetrated through my mind and I redirected my line of thoughts making me focus on the people around me.
I was seated admist the security council and we were having one of our emergency briefs. The security chiefs had requested a meeting to inform me of the new happenings.
I don't know how to explain why I was thinking of the stubborn human Rhea Instead of focusing on what they were saying to me.
I cast a glance at Steele who understood immediately that I was lost and he covered up for me speaking to them to alert everyone around and to keep the new information under the radar to avoid scaring the pack members . They were also told to make statements and regroup to meet again tomorrow night.
The meeting was dispersed and I reached for a bottle of wine from my drawer.
"I was the one who started out slow this morning. What happened to you just now ?" Steele asked me.
"I just had some other thoughts on my mind." I murmured.
Steele scoffed. And now he had a more serious look on his face.
"You didn't even hear a word they said." He said to me. "I was watching you, you zoned out right as the official started talking."
As stupid as this sounds, I hate to admit that it's true! And it's all because of that damned stubborn woman! What was she? A witch?
"Fine. I did. Now can you just let me in on what I missed. I have a lot on my mind." I said to him in my stern and cold voice.
"There was an ambush of our security at the border." He said to me with a straight look in his eyes.
"Fuck!" I cursed under my breath. Now I could see why Steele was annoyed to see that I had not paid attention.
"This is the second one this moon." He said to me leaning forward .
I nodded in agreement. It was true. The first was some weeks ago. Something was definitely wrong.
"Move up the meeting. Tell the chiefs we shall be meeting by midnight." I instructed him. "Triple the body guards at the border this time and I want two chiefs with them."
"I will do that." Steele said looking relieved that I had snapped back to action .
He stood up like he wanted to leave and then he stopped and turned around to look at me.
"Is there something bothering you, Aztec?" He asked me.
I did not want to give him an answer because he used the word 'bothering' and this was not bothering me!
But talking to him was not a bad idea.
"The human." I began.
A smirk climbed on to Steele's face slowly and he took the seat right in front of me with an eyebrow of his raised at me.
"Don't have that stupid look on your face." I said rolling my eyes at him.
"Is she giving you troubles? She still doesn't want to marry you ?" He said in a mocking tone.
"She doesn't have a damned choice! I need the coronation to happen very soon so that I can assume my full duties." I said to him.
Steele nodded at me.
"I understand but what are you going to do if she still doesn't want to marry you? Force her? " He asked
"Yes. As I said, she doesn't have a choice." I replied bluntly.
Steele nodded. "I will take your message to the chiefs." And with a quick bow, he was out.
I was in my study where the meeting has held. I leaned back in my chair with my eyes closed.
Rhea had to come back here with an answer for me tomorrow and all of a sudden, I was crippled with anxiety.
If I had known I would have given her a few hours to come back with her response to my command. There was something about this all that made me on edge and unsettled.
I was startled when I felt someone's hands on my shoulders. I turned around and it was Sera, one of the beautiful she-wolves of the pack whom you could say that I am very familiar with.
"My Alpha," Sera greeted with her voice soft and her eyes cunning and seductive.
"How did you get in here?" I asked her but she pushed me back gently against my chair.
"Don't you worry about that, My Alpha." She said. She wore a flowing silk coat which she now unbuttoned slowly to reveal her naked body.
Her full breasts and pointing nipples stood inviting me as she walked slowly and seductively towards me.
"I did not see you yesterday, My Alpha. I came to your chambers but they wouldn't let me see you." She said to me.
She was slipping her body around me now as she wrapped her legs around my waist and got seated comfortably on my groin.
"Yes, I was busy with some work after the memorial." I said stiffening a grunt of pleasure as she moved her body gently against the bulge in pants.
"Well now I can see that you are still buried in work. So I am here to relieve you off your stress, My Alpha." She said to me with her seductive eyes holding on to mine as she smiled alluringly at me.
She dropped to her knees and took me in her mouth gently with her eyes steadily gazed on mine as she sucked slowly .
I grunted and rested my head back while experiencing pleasure as her mouth skillfully moved over my hardness.
I gripped her up and tucked her legs around me. I stood up while I slipped in to her and she moved against me slowly as she gasped.
I pushed her against the wall slamming in to her while she held on to my head moaning and gasping and calling my name as I banged in to her.
