Chapter 13 - A strange kind of human

(AZTEC'S POV)

I don't know who I was expecting to see but it was definitely not her, Rhea the human.

The moment her scent filled my nose, it slowed down my heart for a few seconds before it started racing in response. My senses seemed to become sharper as I got closer to where she sat, with her scent pulling me in to a calming welcome.

She sat in the waiting room in a poised manner with her eyes glancing around her, she was still yet to notice that I had made my entrance. It gave me the opportunity to observe her more carefully.

Her long silky ebony hair fell down her waist like a very thick dark cloth that was braided. She evoked some kind of serene and Pure Aura. As usual, she was dressed in old, frayed clothes but something about her glowed altogether.

"Your Majesty." Her soft voice interrupted my thoughts.

I had reached close enough within a few feet from her and she had her head bowed in respect .

"I did not expect to see you here so early." I said with a grunt.

"I apologize, I can return when you are available." She said her.

Her tone was blunt and stern but yet polite.

"No, I think you came at the right time. " I said to her.

After that, I nodded at my private security prompting them to leave the room and close the huge doors shortly behind them.

Then I turned back to look at her.

"Are you here to say No to me?" I asked her.

I remember the refusal the last time and now like always, thinking of how she refused to marry me brought surprise and anger.

She took a moment and then wanted to respond but I cut her short.

"Because if you are, then you should know it's useless." I said to her.

Something like surprise flickered in her eyes and then it was accompanied by a look that I recognized to be irritation. She looked away from me and I suppressed a growl at her.

"Are you saying that if I came here to say that I still will not take part in this whole thing then you will force me?" Her meek sounding voice spoke up.

"Yes." I answered her simply and her eyes widened in surprise and then back to a look of displeasure that was masked with a blank stare.

"You can not force me to marry you." She told me.

I was shocked.

She had balls! I had to give her that! It shocked me on a whole other level that she had the guts to respond to me. Not even Steele replied me when I was serious and who did she think she is?

"I am the alpha of this pack and it is my obligation to do whatever I must to protect my pack." I said to her with a glare and in an angry tone . "Things are beginning to get very bad and I have no time for any rubbish."

Her gaze was still blank starring at me. I could see that she did not even flinch after I had spoken to her. So I walked towards her closing the short distance between us. Her scent filled my nostrils but I pushed that thought of my mind.

"Do you think that I want you to be my Luna? I don't care about you. You are definitely not my type. I mean, you are a house keeper" I laughed at her mockingly as I looked down at her clothes and then returned my gaze to her eyes.

She still did not flinch. There was no flash of pain or hurt in her eyes. It made me even more angry.

"I wish I didn't need you." I said to her with a low angry voice looking her in to the eyes. "Because now you are really screwing with my plans. I would have been getting ready to set my pack free and you are stopping that."

"Is that it?" She asked me in a soft voice.

I was surprised to hear her speak. I raised my eyebrow at her in a question glance.

"You are the Alpha, of course you want to set your people free from the dark times, but I think there is something that you want more. That is the fuel of your plans." She said.

I was quiet for a moment as anger burst through my veins.

"I see that you think you have an idea of who I am." I told her with a sinister smile. "So why don't you tell me what I want more."

She still looked at me blankly and then she simply said.

"Revenge."

I was hit unwillingly by the truth. And it made me even more angry.

"The fuck!! I can have you killed for just speaking to me with such disrespect. What are you? A witch?" I asked angrily.

Because then it would explain why she was so weird and strange, with the body scent and all.

"I'm only a human, your majesty." She said.

"So what kind of human doesn't care about the memory of the one who gave her life? You do not care about your late father. The Late Beta. was a great man and he did not deserve to be killed the way he was. He did not deserve to be killed, and yet you don't care. What kind of person are you? ." I said and then I shrugged. "A cold hearted human I see."

For the first time, I saw a flash of pain in her eyes. So deep and hurtful.

So she does care, I thought to myself. With how pained she looked, I expected she might snap or react but she cleared her throat and looked away for a second before she turned.

She bowed her head surprisingly and said

"I'm sorry your majesty. I did not mean to offend you." She said. "I did not come to be a nuisance to you. And I did not come here to say No to you either."

We were still standing close to each other and our eyes looked in to one another's deeply for a second of silence. Did I hear her correctly? She did not come here to say No?

That was when I realized that I had not let her speak before telling her that I will force her.

"Then what did you come here for?" I asked her.

There was a pause and then she said;

"I came here to present my own terms."

I looked back at her shocked. What kind of guts does this human have?
