(RHEA'S POV)
I watched as the Alpha's cold and dark stare pierced in to mine. I did not say a word after I had told him why I was here and he did not say a word too.
He just turned around and walked away from me towards a wooden desk which he slid open and took out a bottle and a glass . He poured himself a drink.
I was relieved that he had just walked away because I had been trying so hard with my composure .
It was not easy to stand still with that gorgeous face inches away from mine.
A face that looked like it was carefully sculpted to perfection. How cool I focus with those eyes were starring directly at me? The feelings made me feel contradicted. I know that he is very attractive. (That is not enough description but we shall stop there because of his character)
But I also know that he is very scary and stern. I may have not be close to him personally especially after our parents died but the story of Alpha Aztec of Moon Shadow pack was one that each pack member was well aware of.
Having him look at me with a glare as he spoke made me scared but I promised myself to not give him the satisfaction of seeing my fear, besides he would not harm me... or would he?
"You have your terms?" The Alpha said to me, his words came out carefully and I turned my attention to him.
He had now become seated on a high chair casually leaned back as he sipped his drink while his eyes dug in to mine.
"Yes I do, your majesty." I said to him
He laughed Mockingly. Again I felt another stab of annoyance in me. He had been laughing and mocking me since I got here. He had even looked at me and spoken to me in a demeaning way but none of that hurt me at all. The only time that I felt hurt was when he said I didn't care about my father.
If only he knew.
But I reminded myself my purpose of being here. It was because of the sorceress from last night. The sorceress who had visited me in a strange dream tatt felt realer than ever. I am a human sure enough but I know that these things exist and happen, and I certainly know the strange dream I had last night was not ordinary.
The sorceress had provided me with a good idea and I had thought of a situation that could help with a win win situation. She had not told me directly but her words had made me think.
"So, may I hear this terms of yours?" Alpha Aztec said to me as he cleared his throat and crossed his legs over one another as he looked expectantly at me.
"We may call it more of conditions, your majesty. Two conditions." I said to him supressing the nervous feeling that his unfriendly look and stares gave me.
"Go on." He said to me and I nodded.
I took in a deep breath and started to speak.
"I would agree to this marriage on the grounds that after we save the pack, I will be allowed to cut ties with the moon shadow pack." I said to him with my voice sounding firm and confident unlike the way I was truly feeling.
Alpha Aztec looked at me with surprise as I noticed and then he stood up and crossed his arms while leaning his posture against the desk.
"You want to be washed away?" He asked me in surprise.
That is what it is called. To be washed away. Maybe because it involves swimming naked in the cold lake that separates the twin packs from each other. The lake that was in between the borders of the Moon shadow pack and the moon shade pack.
Being washed away meant you were no longer a pack member and it was never done willingly. It was a way to punish perpetrators.
"Why?" The Alpha's voice boomed.
"I don't belong here." I simply answered.
"And you will give up being a luna to be an outcast. A washed away outcast." He said to me with an inquisitive stare.
"I am an outcast already." I wanted to say but I stopped myself.
"We both do not want to get married to each other. We are only doing this because it was prohesized. As you said, you wished that I was not involved, so I want to make sure that we don't have to be bothered with each other after we are done." I said to him.
I was trying as much as possible to make sure that I did not sound rude. I was a little worried about the Alpha's reactions but after a hard glance from him and with eyes that told that he wanted to ask a million questions, he said;
"What is the other condition?"
I hoped that the conversation about the first was over.
"Well, I want the orphanage to be moved closer to the heart of the pack." I said to him.
Again, the Alpha looked surprised.
"And why is that?" He asked me
"It's because they have no security team watching over them." I said.
"Many pack members don't have the luxury to provide for personal security. We are wolves. We have to learn to defend ourselves." He said to me
"They are just pups. Small kids." I explained to him.
"Well, I was a pup when my father was murdered and I was forced to take responsibility for the pack."
"I was only 5 when i lost my father too." I said back at him.
"And then you understand the importance of being ready even at a young age." He said to me plainly.
What kind of person was this Alpha Aztec truly?
"You care so much about your people, so why don't you care for the orphaned pups?" I asked him in disappointment at his ignorance and nonchalance.
"I care for the safety of all my pack members." He answered me sternly.
"Then you are supposed to know that the ones who are important are the ones with no power. These pups have no one, some of them are outcasts, and the state of the orphanage isn't managed properly."
I told him hardly being able to control the anger and hurt that I felt.
" Enough of you this human!" He suddenly said angrily as he stood up with raging eyes.
He walked slowly to me with anger in his eyes.
"I have taken your unacceptable behavior and you have gone too far." He said. He stopped a few feet away from me but his angry eyes never left mine.
"Your Majesty, I-" i started to say.
"Save it!" He said to me immediately. "I don't care about your stupid terms. I am the Alpha of this pack and you shall do as I say. I will pay a visit to your family for our union. You have said enough and now I want you to get out."
"Your Majesty." I started to say but he turned on me with fury in his eyes and for the first time, I actually let my fear show.
"Get out!" He yelled at me.
