(RHEA'S POV)
My neck still hurt from where my step sister's hands and nails had dug in to my flesh and my mind was troubled thinking of the conversation I would later have with my step mother.
The morning had started out for me on a bad note.
Last night I had not been able to fall asleep early because I was thinking of the Alpha's late night visit. My mind had been racing with a lot of thoughts and to be woken with such chaos this morning.
I walked in to the room following my step mother closely behind and the moment I took in those sharp and stern grey eyes, it felt like I was taken to a whole new world instantly. Those few seconds of our eyes meeting made me feel like I was alone in the room with him.
His look was powerful and grasping. And his voice was commanding and sharp.
It was his sharp tone that snapped me out of my world of thoughts.
"Are you still asleep?" The Alpha had asked as he had taken a few steps towards me making my step mother shift aside with her head bowed as if to give him way.
His question was directed at me and I was not sure of what answer to give him but then I heard one of my step sisters giggle. I turned, as did everyone in the room to see who had been bold enough to do that.
It was Hori.
Her mother's deadly look sent her daggers and I bit my lip as I turned back to look at Alpha Aztec who was suppressing a glare at Hori.
It was only my step sister who could be foolish enough to do something like that in the presence of the Alpha.
I wondered what he would do and how he would react. Surprisingly, he seemed to calm down but I could see that he had displeasure in his eyes.
The Alpha made a signal with his hand and his Beta came forward. With a single nod from each of them, the Alpha turned to look at me with one strong glance that made a delicious chill run down my spine and then without a word, he turned around and walked away.
My step mother looked alarmed, she stepped forward in the direction of the Alpha but she could not take another step because his guards were following him closely.
She turned to the Beta.
"I apologize for my daughter's behavior. I beg the Alpha for his forgiveness please." She said
It was the first time I was seeing my step mother act so humble.
"You will be coming along with us."
The Beta announced as he ignored my step mother's apology. He was speaking to me.
I turned to my step mother who nodded with a nervous smile.
"Yes, she can come with you." She said. "But I will still like to know what all this is about. This is the second day that my family is getting a visit from the Alpha's team. With all due respect, I am not comfortable with my daughter going with you because I don't know what this is all about. I am a concerned mother."
It was like my ears had stopped working well and I was hearing the words wrongly. Everything my step mother was saying was untrue, I knew that she was putting up a show in front of the Beta.
"The Alpha will have an answer for you soon. Not to worry, your daughter is safe." The Beta answered in his stern and formal sounding voice .
Then he nodded at me and said. "Come along."
With one last look at my cold step mother and glaring step sisters, I walked on in front of the Beta.
Before he turned to leave, he said.
"The Alpha never pays a visit to anyone. He is in your presence and yet you act like like a young pup." He said with a displeased look at Hori.
With that, he walked away and the rest of the guards followed closely behind him.
Outside, the Alpha's wagon train awaited us. I was being led to one of the wagons but a door opened just as I walked past.
"You're riding with me". A voice said.
I knew that the voice belonged to Alpha Aztec. He did not even poke his head out of the wagon, he had only spoken as I walked past.
I went inside making myself seated beside him with as much space between us as I could.
Alpha Aztec had his eyes out the window and did not for once glance at me throughout the ride. It gave me some time to silently appreciate being with him in such a small space.
It was not like I had feelings for him or anything. How could I have feelings for such an arrogant person who was also a womanizer?
But there was something about him that pulled me to him. And that was asides from how attractive he was physically.
There were no lies told about the Alpha's perfection. Being seated with him gave me the opportunity to be close enough to him and to see his features up front. His beautiful eyes had to be the most attractive feature he had. For a second getting lost in them made you forget how cold and stern he could be. But there was also his perfect jaw line and silky jet black hair, his well built frame and the way he-
"Like what you see?" Hearing his voice startled me.
He did not speak with a smile or with a light tone and I shifted uncomfortably in my seat as my cheeks became hot in embarrassment. He had caught me starring at him.
"I have to say, you are a little less fiery than last night." He said to me.
His eyes dug deep in to mine and I could see that he was thinking of a lot as he looked at me. I wished that I could hold on to those eyes for longer but I looked away shyly.
"We are here." He announced to me and then with the most intense look, he said "You will be coming with me "
