'This is a demonstration of power...' Julian thought. Why else would they bother talking if for them we are as small as an ant.
Julian can feel the aura of those monsters. No one in this world can match for them.
'That man in the throne, he's an undead, the others is inhuman. I'm sure of this, they are the spawn of devils.' He thought.
And then something goes to his mind.
'Wait...!'
He remembered now.
Since the ancient times, their predecessor said that there will be a time we would also experience it for ourselves too.
The Lord of Darkness. With his minions laying waste to the land.
It will just appear out of nowhere, bring chaos in the world, do whatever they wanted and then just vanish into nothing.
'Don't tell me they are...!' Julian don't want to finish his thoughts.
...
'Hmm... As far as I can see nothing seems to be worthy of note in here.'
While sitting in the throne, I scan my surroundings and tried to look for important information.
Earlier after I accepted the systems proposal, all of us just got thrown right into this mess. While the system prompt us to finish a designated quest.
[Quest]
[Description:]
[The new Lord of Darkness has appeared! Prove that you are worthy of the moniker you bear.]
...
'Prove huh...' It seems I need to act like this Lord of Darkness or whatever.
I look at my hands, they are trembling. Not because of fear or anything, but because of excitement.
'This will be fun...'
I looked at my guildmates and they seem to know what I wanted to do.
'Ha, you all are just enjoying this as much as I do. So much for complaining earlier!' I thought.
Hero—now with a humane form with wings on his back—opened his mouth to speak.
"Our lord want to have a conversation with the people of this land. One representative would be ideal." Hero said. Speaking normally but his voice can be heard by all the people.
"Ten minutes from now, if no representative has come, we would take it as a sign of war. Now, you all don't want that do you?" Hero said playfully. At those words the citizens of Vribette Dynasty all panic. The people tried to run away as far away from the tower as they could.
Chaos ensued.
...
Julian cursed while he tried to think of a solution.
'We can't fight them, if we fight them we would be killed mercilessly. Not counting the one sitting at the throne, even one of those standing can kill all of my men in a flash.'
He can feel their aura, those doesn't belong to any human, even one of them is at that level!
He tried to look at their status with the Eye of Truth but it's not showing anything. That only means one thing, they're above the Legend tier.
Julian is only at the third level of the Legend tier. That doesn't mean he's weak, he's in fact strong, strong enough to be ranked among the most powerful person in the world. But when compared to those monsters, he might as well be an infant.
'They said we need a representative, just what is their purpose...?' He doesn't want to come near them, that will be stupid, the alarm signals in his head are telling him to escape from them. But he has no choice, he's the emperor after all.
Time is running out, he came out and spoke loudly.
"I'm Julian von Vribette II, the emperor of Vribette Dynasty! I would like to ta-"
"Silence!" One of the people standing shouted. The shout came with a force as the emperor could not utter a single word from his mouth.
"You are not to speak unless we told you to do-"
"That's enough." The man in the throne interrupted.
"You... Come here."
Julian gulped. The aura of death, he can feel it.
Julian used flight to come to the tower, on the way he think of all possible ways that he can negotiate with the man, all of that won't work though, as Julian don't know what this monsters are after.
Landing at the balcony, Julian can't help but shudder. Looking at the figures ahead of him, they are ethereal. All of them looks out of place, Julian knew, these monsters doesn't belong here.
"Kneel."
With the words of the man sitting at the throne, Julian felt something that make him voluntarily follow what the man said.
'What... is this?'
He can't move anything. With just a word they made him powerless.
Julian is kneeling on the ground. Looking at the stone marble, he think maybe those monsters won't kill him just yet.
'Just what these monsters are after...!'

In a grandiose room, a man can be seen sitting. Ahead of him is a man drinking tea in his cup. While neither of them are talking, the man with a crown in his head seems agitated.
"What seems to be the matter, Lord Fairney? Calling me late at this hour." The other man asked putting down his tea cup. The man in question, Fairney, ignored him.
"It looks like you are worried about 'that' huh?"
At those words Fairney gave a reaction.
"That... isn't this a bit too early? Tell me Carl, you felt that too right? The world now seems unbalanced! It only means one thing, they have appeared."
"We don't know where but-" Fairney can't finish what he wants to say as banging sound came from his door.
*BANG * BANG * BANG*
"Lord! The Oracle, the Oracle is–" A voice came from outside the door.
"What is it?! Did you see that I have an important discussion here?"
"Lord, I know! But the Oracle is dying and it seems she has something to say to you!"
"What?!" Fairney cursed.
The Oracle is dying? What does this mean...?
"Sir Carl, it seems something has came up so I got to leave, I apologize but we will discuss this matter in another time." Fairney stand up and prepared to leave the room, leaving the man, Carl alone with his thoughts.
'Chaos is brewing it seems...'
With the door closing, no presence could be felt inside the room.
