The next day Wendy wakes up and someone is knocking on her door she opens the door and sees Kate, she leaves it open for Kate and goes to the kitchen to prepare coffee for herself. Kate enters the room " I think I made a big mistake yesterday" she says, Wendy looks at her as she sips the coffee in her hand waiting for her to continue " I almost kissed someone yesterday" she says, " you mean Jake right?" Wendy asks her but Kate just shakes her head "THEN WHO?" Wendy says with a partly panicked voice "you didn't actually kiss him right?" she asks her friend who replies "almost" in a small voice.
She sits down urging her friend to tell her who she kissed but she doesn't say anything "is it someone I know?" Wendy asks "no!" Kate answers almost as immediately as the question was asked "it's not anyone you know" she sighs "okay, I won't ask anymore". "if you don't like Jake anymore I'll support you even if you dump him but I won't support you if you cheat on him so make your choices wisely or I'd be the first to tell him" Wendy says, Kate just remains silent and thinks "Wendy was right even she would never forgive herself for cheating so she was going to by all means avoid Chris"
She gets a call from Jake and goes home, she decides to treat him better, try to restore their relationship, but she gets home to a drunk Jake who starts talking in a very low voice asking her "Where have you been?" "Are you drunk?" she asks him "WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN ALL DAY?" he shouts at her "you're drunk" she sighs and takes a step towards him "it's the same as yesterday you weren't home the whole day" he starts to cry "I went to your work place and they told me you weren't there because you had the night shift, when I called you today you didn't answer, ----- I called so many times but you didn't answer, I thought you were ---- leaving me" at this point he's sobbing in between his words "I'm not going to leave you" she says "how can you even think like that, these past few days we've been fighting nonstop and I just needed some space, I was scared that you'd leave if I kept bothering you" she's sobbing too now she closes the gap between them and hugs him, he hugs her back tightly while crying into her shoulder "I'll never leave like that" he whispers.
The next morning, while Wendy's getting ready for work she hears the doorbell she opens the door to see her mom "mom? What are you doing here?" her mom smiles and walks past her "what do you mean? I sent you a text last night didn't you see it" "what text?" she asks "I set you up on a blind date, you've been single for a while and I know that at this rate you'll die alone so I'm giving you a helping hand" she says as she walks to the kitchen and then she turns around and smiles "it's only been a month mom give it a break" Wendy says "he's rich and handsome, quite smart and has got good moral" her mom says, she pauses "plus he respects women" "I don't care" Wendy says "my word is this what you're going in" she analyzes her daughter's outfit with obvious distaste "mom I'm going to work" she says "what? You couldn't get the day off then let me postpone the date to tom----" " mom! I'm not going, I'm doing fine right now and I'm not ready for a relationship" she says "how do you know you're not ready" her mom asks "because I'm much happier without one" she answers "how do you know it's the relationship and not the person" her mom inquires "just go on this one date and if it doesn't work out then I promise I will leave you alone" she sighs and accepts the offer making her mom promise that after this one there'd be no more blind dates. They set the date till next week since Wendy was adamant on not missing any work. She left for work after clearing a room for her mom to stay.
On getting to work she runs all the things she's supposed to do before going on a walk with some of the elderly patients "you're such a darling dear and beautiful too, your boyfriend must be happy to have you" one of them says as they walk "I actually don't have one" she says "that can't be right I'm sure I saw you with a guy a few weeks ago, tall, very handsome, what was it you called him again D-D-Daniel, or was it David" another one of the old women says, Wendy smiles and says "we broke up a long time ago" " why break up he looks like a flower gifted from heaven" the woman says "he cheated" Wendy says on seeing the confused look on the women's faces " ah now that I think of it he was rather ugly more like a frog" the woman says and that makes Wendy chuckle.
When she gets home she sees David leaning against the wall beside her gate, she rolls her eyes an decides to just walk past him and into the house but he puts his hand in front of her to stop her and then stands in front of her "you can't tell me you didn't see me" he says "I have nothing to say to you" she says and walks around him " I hear you're going on a blind date" he calls after her, "is it any of your business" she says as she turns sharply to him " I don't need you poking your nose into my life" she says, I just came across the information and came to fact check but by the looks of it I guess it's true" he says "go home" she says, walks through the gate and locks it then she goes into the house. She asks her mom weather she had told David about her upcoming date but her mom denies the accusations. She brushes It of and decides to dig into it later.
