Using this chance, Ferin kicked the ground and jumped toward the boar. She didn't even use [Dash], but she was still faster than any warriors in the area. They had spent too many points on STR while she distributed it evenly, with VIT as her focus, and STR and AGI came next.
Her speed was not on par with a Rogue, but she was still Level 17. The stat difference between Level 12 and Level 17 players was 30 points. It was massive.
"Hah!"
With a cry, she slashed her sword at its face again. Her blade sliced through its tough skin effortlessly and dealt critical damage to it.
The light reflected on its blade when she pulled it out before she stabbed it into the boar's body once again, causing red hexagons to appear around the wound.
A second passed after Ferin attacked it. Atlas also began casting his spell.
"[Mana Bolt]"
"Hiss!"
The Armored Boar shook its head violently and took a step back before moving forward with its frontal feet raised high in the air, ready to attack her. At a timely moment, the bluish bolt of magic hit its face and pushed it away from Ferin.
Atlas was very supportive on the battlefield.
Only 6% was left in Armored Boar's HP. Ferin only needed to strike it a few times more and it would die.
But, the problem was...
"Kill it!"
"Let's kill them!"
"Take it! It's mine!"
Many players had arrived near their position. 3 parties. Each one of them consisted of 4 or 5 members. Ferin flashed a mocking smile at them and continued attacking the boar while ignoring their shouts and glares.
[3x Level 15 Armored Boars have been defeated!]
[1x Armored Boar Hide obtained.]
[3x Armored Boar Tusk obtained.]
[3/3 Armored Boars defeated. Quest completed!]
The boar disappeared in a puff of red hexagons, but...
"Hey, that's unfair! That's our party's boar."
"And the other one is ours!"
"Give them back to us!"
The players complained loudly at their sight, demanding compensation that they had no right to receive. Even a noble person wouldn't be able to hold back and not snap at their demand, much less Atlas who was calm and rational.
"Fine, we will leave."
There was no reason to stay here any longer, so they nodded their heads to each other before leaving that place behind them.
Still, players weren't rational people. They were greedy and full of anger if they lost their object of interest.
"Who said you can leave? Give me the drop you obtained from that boar and 500 Nar! You stole it from our party!"
A Warrior Beastman player stepped forward and pointed at Atlas' face while yelling angrily at them. His sharp nails were drawing close to his face threateningly.
"Don't want to give up? Then I will get it from your inventory by killing you."
One thing that Atlas, and even more so Ferin, hated was being threatened.
Without the beastman player named RickIsRolling noticed, a sword had passed his neck. His HP bar immediately depleted to 0 and his body fell.
Everyone was stunned. They didn't see anything clearly as it happened too fast.
"Wha-"
"Was that a neck cut?"
"Did they have a Rogue in their party?"
A few players were confused as to what had transpired while the rest was speechless from the sudden death. Then, they noticed Ferin in front of the corpse, taking her sword out from the neck of that player.
She touched the corpse and took coins from his pocket before raising a pair of boots.
"At, he has an [Uncommon] Combat Boots. How lucky." She chuckled softly while placing the item in her bag, "I also found 125 Nar in his pocket. He's poor and weak. Yet, he threatened us." Her eyes gleamed dangerously in an instant and became sharp like a knife.
It was a pressure that even the players who came together with RickIsRolling felt. The feeling of getting glared at by Ferin was as if their life was being threatened by her.
A difference in Level.
But Humans were foolish, even more so players. They believed that 5 players could still fight and win against two players who were 3 to 4 levels higher than them.
They held their weapons, the two Mages in the team retreated to get some space while two Rogues stood behind the single Warrior.
The party intended to fight.
And Ferin loved it.
"Free EXP and money!" She exclaimed, eliciting a sigh from Atlas.
He had no choice but to fight them now. His target was obviously the two Rogues who stood behind the Warrior.
'They have a balanced team. It will be dangerous to keep the Rogues free.' He thought, looking around the surroundings to assert the situation. 'The other parties only watched and didn't interfere. Good. No need to worry about backstab. They choose to continue grinding.'
Normal players were worried about PK. They didn't know the consequences and how it would affect them. But Atlas and Ferin didn't care.
'Unlike in the newbie village, we will lose 50 Reputation when killing a non-aggressive player. However, if we are attacked first, we will be able to counter attack as a form of self-defense.'
It was for this reason that the other party didn't attack first. They were worried about having a bad reputation.
Atlas glanced at Ferin. They were able to leave freely if they wanted to, but his girlfriend was itching to fight.
'What a troublesome girl.'
Killing 5 players would reduce their Reputation to 220. For now, it wouldn't affect them negatively. But it would affect them in the future when the main quest was activated.
'We can just grind back, though. If we get an achievement and a world announcement for clearing the first dungeon…'
It was doable. They wouldn't need to worry. Their goal was to reach Level 20.
'I can't find that hidden job, so I will stick to my initial plan and get the Rare Job instead. The second advancement will suit my fighting style better.'
Their stand still lasted only for a few seconds. Atlas' brain worked pretty fast. He had a high Synchronization Rate which allowed him to do that. It could still be higher once the latest generation capsule was released, but that was a thought for another time.
For now…
"[Fireball]"
He had enemies to kill.
"Aha! Let's do it, At!"
