'Great.' He smiled.
"Please leave it to me. I'll find your gloves."
"Thank you."
'Now, let's see what happened next.'
Atlas turned around after receiving the quest from the woman and walked away while holding Ferin's hand tightly. He looked at her, wanting to share the good news. But when he looked at her, she found her pouting.
"Fer? Is something wrong?" He asked her concernedly while staring at her face intently as he noticed her unhappy expression on her face.
Ferin huffed quietly and crossed her arms across her chest while glancing at him with an annoyed look in her eyes before saying in a low voice, "What I see is a woman in trouble. So, why won't you tell us the problem and we'll see if we can solve it."
She imitated his voice perfectly while mimicking his behavior at the same time. It made his skin crawl after he realized his mistake.
'That's totally a pick up line, right?' He thought with a wry smile on his face and chuckled nervously before patting her head gently with a guilty look on his face. "Sorry... I didn't think of that until you imitated me. B-But that's necessary for the quest..."
Ferin narrowed her eyes slightly at him before sighing deeply and smiled at him while shaking her head lightly before holding his hand gently, "You better make it up to me tonight."
"I will," He promised her immediately with a serious expression on his face while nodding his head seriously in agreement with her demand.
His promise was enough to satisfy her, so she smiled happily at him once again before leaning against his body while swinging their hands together playfully as they walked toward their destination, "Alright~ Let's find this item. Where is it? How does it look like?"
"It's a pair of gloves with strange patterns and emits faint light. Usually, we have to follow a set of clues given by NPCs to find the item. But BunBunBoy is really chatty in his interview, you know? All we have to do is to visit the tavern for now and head to the last place he mentioned."
Atlas explained everything to her seriously with a calm expression on his face as he looked straight into Ferin's eyes without hesitation.
"BunBunBoy?" Ferin raised one of her eyebrows and glanced at him curiously with a curious expression on her face, "Ah, the fifth rank. I wasn't interested in any of players interview so I don't know. But from the way you speak, he must have explained how he got his class? Wait, it's a hidden class, right?"
"Indeed." He nodded his head slowly at her question and explained everything he knew about the Combo Mage class advancement. "And because no one could get it anymore, he shared his secret openly. Well, he wanted to impress girls from what I know."
Ferin giggled lightly at his explanation. "Let's see if it's true."
They walked toward the tavern while holding hands together without talking anymore as they continued heading toward their destination. It didn't take them too long to arrive at their destination.
And what they found there was... chaos.
"How dare you claim her?!"
"Hah?! That redhead is mine! Who the fuck are you?!"
"Want to die?! I'll rip you apart!!"
"Calm down! Calm down!"
It was a verbal fight between NPCs. Both of them were men, and both were drunk. The tavern was a mess because of them. The two players didn't expect this to happen, but this was a common scenario in the game.
'Well, this is a tavern so I guess a fight is normal.' Atlas thought this might be harder than he thought.
How could they find a clue in this place?
But before he could do anything, Ferin's hand pulled his arm and led him toward the counter where a bartender NPC was standing.
"Excuse me~" She smiled sweetly at the NPC and asked with an innocent tone in her voice, "We're looking for an item. A pair of gloves, you see? Our drunk friend left them here yesterday."
'She's good.' Atlas smiled wryly at Ferin's quick thinking and decided to play along.
The bartender NPC blinked twice at Ferin's question before laughing loudly in amusement as he heard what she said to him, "Hehehe~ A pair of gloves, huh? Does that item look expensive? Does that item have a pattern on it?"
"Yes!" Ferin grinned brightly at him excitedly while nodding her head quickly without hesitating for a second.
Hearing that, Atlas had a bad feeling about this. He already knew what the bartender was going to say next.
'Please don't say that...' He pleaded mentally while praying silently in his heart as he hoped that the bartender wouldn't answer the same as he thought he would say.
"If you left or dropped an expensive item here, bet that they already lost or has a new owner, miss. Sorry."
'Well, just as I expected.' He sighed.
"Is that so? Do you know who found it, though? That will help us." Atlas asked the bartender calmly with a serious expression on his face while staring at the man's face intently without blinking even once because he was determined to get that quest.
But...
"No idea, sorry."
It was something Atlas expected too. He looked around and noticed the commotion was still happening between two drunk NPCs. They were arguing loudly without stopping, causing chaos in the tavern.
He sighed quietly while shaking his head slowly and shrugged his shoulders helplessly before saying with a calm tone in his voice, "Well, people. What happened here?"
Ferin was confused with his action at first until she understood what he meant when she saw Atlas approach the two drunk people and tried to get their attention by asking them questions.
"Hey! You two!"
"What?!" One of them growled angrily while glaring furiously at him angrily without caring about anything else other than getting rid of this annoyance in front of him, "The hell do you want, brat?!"
"That redhead woman asked about the item she lost here. She's my sister, you know? I will put up a good word for whoever give me information about that item. It's a pair of gloves with a pattern." Atlas explained calmly without showing any fear while staring straight into their eyes without flinching even once as he spoke calmly toward them.
He wasn't lying either.
"Oh? That redhead asked about that thing? Yeah... She did drop it here when she was drinking her heart out, but then that other guy stole it from her!"
One of them answered loudly as he pointed angrily toward the other drunk man beside him before shouting angrily toward him, "You bastard!! I didn't do it. It's the guy from the blacksmith who snatched it!!"
"Why the fuck should I believe you?! You're drunk and probably don't even remember what you're talking about!!"
They continued arguing loudly without stopping even once while yelling at each other furiously while cursing loudly without caring about anything else around them.
But that was enough for Atlas.
