"Thank you for the kind gesture, Mr Zane. But we can handle things ourselves," Elias responded, his tone cold. He would have appreciated and accepted Zane's offer if he had been upright and handed him a front-row seat out of goodwill. But his intent was clear–it was malicious.
Upon hearing Elias's response, Zane's smile curved into a frown, showcasing his displeasure. He shifted his gaze towards Emily, and seeing her annoyed expression, he smiled wryly and nodded in understanding.
"In that case, I'll be taking my leave. I hope you two enjoy the rest of the event," Zane said. With a nod, he turned and left, walking towards his seating position.
He had made a fool of himself, thinking he could win her over and gradually spark her interest. But it was clear that wasn't the case. Zane exhaled deeply, deciding to put Emily out of his mind. He didn't stand a chance to get Emily, who seemed deeply in love with such a loser.
