Chapter 13 - Price Of a Portion of Fried Rice

"Wow...brother who cooked this?" Celine asked with a surprised expression when she saw the menu on the dinner table at the moment.

Because currently there is quite a lot on the menu and the most important thing is that it is still warm as if it had just been cooked.

It should be noted that because his parents work, the Wijaya family's dinner menu can be said to be simple, usually they only eat the menu that their mother bought when they came home from work at a small food stall.

So when she saw the menu which was quite diverse, Celine was surprised. Wijaya remembers that in the past he was also busy studying and often came home late so he would only eat on campus before going home.

If he comes in during the day and has to come home at night from lectures, not to mention that his father is sometimes late for dinner with them, because at that time he is busy serving customers who buy.

So practically it can only be Celine and her mother who have dinner together, and dinner moments like today can be said to be very rarely done together, due to the busy schedule that each family member faces.

So of course, Wijaya had the determination in his heart to spend more time with his family, if he had the time.

And this afternoon, or rather at his current family dinner, was the first step in the decision he made.

As for the issue of his cooking skills, of course Wijaya got this from his experience in the future, as time went on he became busier.

And in the end he often came home late, and to fulfill his hunger he often cooked himself and practiced his skills.

"Of course I, who else do you think ??" Wijaya answered proudly.

"Don't talk too much, father and mom, please taste it first." Wijaya invited his parents to taste the food first.

And the father took a piece of fried tempeh cooked by Wijaya, and one who tasted it, there was a quite satisfied smile on the father's face.

"Yes, this tempeh is quite delicious," his father praised.

"And these duck eggs are delicious, even though they taste a little fishy," his mother said to Wijaya and praised him.

"It's good if it suits mom and dad's tastes." Wijaya was happy when his parents ate what he cooked.

So then the family immediately started serving the food provided by Wijaya.

On the other hand, Wijaya's parents felt a feeling of happiness when they saw that their child was becoming more mature and independent.

They were happy because they could taste Wijaya's cooking, even though it was very simple, the taste was different in the hearts of their parents.

While having dinner with his family, Wijaya then shared his experience when he got duck eggs which his family is currently eating.

Where Wijaya accidentally, who was just having fun looking at his father's garden during the day, found some unexpected good harvests.

And one of them was the harvest of duck eggs, which he got for free.

Hearing that her older brother had managed to get duck eggs, Celine who was listening, became noisy and asked his older brother to take her with him when he visited his father's garden again later.

And Wijaya promises this, in short the whole family will have a very harmonious dining atmosphere and the father will have dinner together.

Resting for a while father then saying goodbye to continuing his work, on the other hand, the mother started watching her favorite TV soap opera.

And her sister Celine returned to her room to do the homework given by her school.

As for Wijaya himself, he returned to his room and rested for a while, playing with his cellphone and waiting for 08.00 at night before going out to meet Ana.

In short, time was running out, in the end when Wijaya saw that it was 10 minutes to 08.00 pm, Wijaya immediately said goodbye to his mom and went out of the house.

Wearing neater and more relaxed clothes, Wijaya then walked to the small food stall where he had previously made an appointment with Ana.

It took less than 5 minutes for Wijaya to reach the front of the alley of his house, where a wide road connecting the city was visible.

There weren't too many buildings on the side of the road, which was very different from the atmosphere 10 years later where every inch of land was on the side of the road.

Filled with various types of shops and also private homes.

And in the end, Wijaya's gaze turned to the other side, from the road where a small restaurant that looked neat and beautiful was standing.

There is a banner stretched in front of small Restaurant. And says it sells fried rice, fried noodles, and fried kwetiau.

And this restaurant became one of the characteristics of the Pati kingdom, where the local residents of the Pati kingdom named the small restaurant after it.

Fried rice restaurant, where the main menu of sales made by the restaurant is fried rice, as well as several other menus.

Entering the restaurant, Wijaya saw that there were no customers currently visiting.

And on the other side, a man in his early 50s and a woman almost the same age were seen welcoming Wijaya.

Wijaya immediately knew that this was the owner of the restaurant.

"Welcome and good evening, what would you like to order?" asked the woman, welcoming Wijaya.

"Good evening, I'll order orange ice first and I'm still waiting for my friend," Wijaya answered back in a friendly manner, while ordering a glass of orange ice.

And said that he was waiting for his friend, sitting towards the inside of the restaurant, Wijaya thought that this was a suitable place to wait for Ana.

Because he could see directly towards the door of the restaurant and let Ana immediately notice it.

While waiting, Wijaya looked at the menu on the dining table where he was sitting. There was a simple menu with only the name and price listed.

There are no pictures of the food menu served, and this is something that is commonplace nowadays.

It was different 10 years later, where you just scanned the barcode on the table and the menu and prices were immediately displayed.

Don't forget that orders are also made online and payments are also online, which is a very big change.

Not long after, Wijaya's order of orange ice arrived, and he found it very refreshing.

"Ahhh...this is very fresh..." praised Wijaya as he took a sip of the orange ice.

Looking at the price list for this orange iced drink, Wijaya had to praise that it was very cheap, only 2 dollars.

On the other hand, food menus such as fried rice, start from 8 dollars to 15 dollars, which shows cheap prices compared to the future.

Wijaya still remembers that at least the cheapest price for fried rice in the future will be 15 dollars and so on, very different.

While enjoying his drink, Ana's beautiful figure appeared to enter the food stall, and Ana at this time….
