Chapter 19 - All Cheap

"What do you want to order?" A middle-aged female servant asked Wijaya.

"I want one tuna fish with chili sauce, two fried chickens, one portion of stir-fried squid, and one portion of lalapan (lalapan is a raw vegetarian food usually served on the Patih royal menu, usually consisting of cucumber, basil leaves, lettuce, small eggplant, that washed clean)

"Okay, wait a moment," answered the waiter.

Then using transparent plastic, she started wrapping each order from Wijaya, and after a while the waiter handed Wijaya's order, saying "this is the order and it's all 20 dollars."

"Okay, here it is" handed over a dollar bill with a nominal value of 20 dollars and didn't forget Wijaya said "I'll ask for the receipt" Don't forget to know the real price of all the orders he ordered, Wijaya asked the waiter for a price list.

Not long after, Wijaya immediately held a simple bill where it was written, 1 tuna with chili sauce = 5 dollars, 2 fried chicken = 8 dollars, 1 portion of squid = 5 dollars, and fresh vegetables = 2 dollars, a total of 20 dollars.

Looking back at this figure, Wijaya had to say this was very cheap, he still remembered that at least in the future, 1 fried chicken would cost 10-12 dollars.

And now for two fried chickens he can get just 8 dollars, really cheap.

Not long after, Wijaya and his mother returned home, they were greeted by Celine who was clean and tidy after taking a shower.

Handing over the food that had been ordered, Wijaya then asked Celine to arrange it on a plate before dinner was served.

"Here, I bought food for dinner tonight, and I bought your favorite fried chicken," Wijaya said to Celine with a smiling expression.

He knows that Celine really likes eating fried chicken, especially in the Patih's kingdom there are various types of fried chicken, including Kremes fried chicken (fried chicken in crunchy flour similar to western fried chicken) and then there is coconut fried chicken (fried chicken mixed with fried coconut sprinkles). then sweet and sour fried chicken (fried chicken stir-fried using sour and spicy sauce), there is also yellow fried chicken (fried chicken fried with a mixture of turmeric spices to make the chicken golden yellow) smash fried chicken (fried chicken with flour that is finely ground with additional spicy raw chili sauce) and many more.

"Wowwww...fried chicken...Celine's favorite...thanks bro, wow there are two...." When Celine was happy, she saw that inside the food package there were two fried chickens.

Happy with the surprise she wanted to express her gratitude to Wijaya again, but then Wijaya interrupted her, "one for dad hahaha" and immediately said, breaking Celine's fantasy.

"Ahhhh...okay...at least there's chili sauce and fresh Lalapan " Celine was happy again when she saw that there was also chili sauce included in it with fresh vegetables too.

After that, Wijaya went to the bathroom to clean himself. Long story short, it was evening and the time was exactly past 6 o'clock.

On the other hand, there was the sound of a bowl being knocked loudly in front of his house, indicating that his father had returned from the lower village to rest at home.

"Ting…Ting…Ting…." (It has become a habit for traveling traders in the Patih kingdom who use carts or bicycles, when they peddle the food they sell, to signal their arrival, they usually ring the selling tools they carry.

For the meatballs that Wijaya's father sells, usually the bowl will be rung as a sign that the traveling meatball seller has come to a place, on the other hand the sound of a bamboo indicates the arrival of the cart chicken noodle seller, then the sound of a bicycle bell indicates the arrival of the traveling dumpling seller, and the sound of a trumpet small indicates a bread seller, etc.

They all have different characteristics, will be discussed in another chapter)

"Father's home," Celine shouted happily as she welcomed her father home.

Seeing this moment again, Wijaya felt very moved, how many times had he imagined this happening in the future, but he was always devastated because it was impossible.

But now he was given the opportunity, so Wijaya promised to change all that with all the strength he had.

After setting the dining table, Wijaya then called his family to the dining room.

While inviting his father and mother to sit down, Wijaya patiently started serving his parents first, by collecting a portion of rice on a plate, starting with his father, then his mother and Celine, finally he took the plate and filled it with rice.

On the dining table, apart from the food menu, fresh Lalapan and chili sauce, there is also a small basin filled with water and lime juice as a place wash hands.

(Inhabitants of the Patih kingdom usually use their hands directly to eat their food, however they are also accustomed to washing their hands with water before eating their food, and for some foods that contain sauce they use spoons and forks)

While eating, Wijaya and his family didn't forget to chat with each other about their activities for the day.

And that is one of the activities usually carried out by the Wijaya family, of course the thing discussed is something light that doesn't make the dining atmosphere chaotic.

After finishing their dinner together, while relaxing, their mother and Celine returned to the TV to watch their favorite soap opera.

On the other hand, the father and Wijaya are now relaxing at the dining table while enjoying a cup of hot tea.

"Have you told your mom about the business decisions you made?" The father asked Wijaya.

"I haven't had time yet father, I'll see later," replied Wijaya again in a slightly nervous tone.

This is inseparable from the mother's character, who, although she looks soft on the outside, is actually quite hard on the inside, she knows that the decision she makes regarding trading snacks cannot be easily discussed like with her father.

So he needs more time and preparation.

Seeing Wijaya looking nervous the father had a smile on his face while saying "a man must have the courage to speak if he has made a decision, whether it is accepted or not is another matter, ok father will continue trading" giving encouragement to Wijaya then the father finished tea and said goodbye to his family to finish his wares.

Seeing that his father had left, continuing his business, Wijaya now immediately returned to his room. He wanted to calm his heart and ask Ana for a little advice about how to speak nicely to his mother.

Because according to the Wijaya, only women understand women better, so he feels that his girlfriend Ana's suggestion might be better than the plan he decided on.
