Chapter 34: A Mysterious Dark... Not Quite
Two weeks or so had passed since Ruthar learned valuable lessons about slacking off and leveled up.
"With everything now, I think it's been a month since I left home to train," he mused.
A lot had changed during that time. He finally learned how to balance his demonic eye of foresight and predict outcomes, thanks to constant training with Vance and the skill, Foresight.
Not just that, but he managed to master the Spade Sword art from Rotexa and worked on the other extracted skills.
The past weeks had been without rest, filled with relentless training as though it was his talent or calling.
Luckily, Vance had declared that day a break to rest and reflect on how far he had come.
"This is a perfect time for me to reflect on the system," Ruthar thought.

Ruthar narrowed his eyes, scanning his stats again and again. He had recently leveled up, and just as he suspected, leveling up added one to all stat points.
Apart from that, all his skills had leveled up by one. He had also discovered one thing about the system: the Sense stat, which he never understood until leveling up, had become clearer to him now.
Ruthar turned back to the window, positioned so he could see the entire environment outside.
It was raining heavily, perfect for testing the Sense skill once more.
He dimmed his eyes and could hear or discern every drop of rain touching the ground as though he was right before them. It was a wonderful sound to hear; the trees would consecutively shake and make a low noise he could hear too. The Sense stat made him more like a dog with sharp hearing or a wild animal. This would greatly favor him in his quest to defeat Tomaha.
"Who knows what will happen if the Sense stat reaches ten, or maybe twenty, or maybe a hundred?" Ruthar wondered.
A while passed before he stopped fantasizing and went to the matter that concerned him the most. Just like when he leveled up the first time, his daily quests had changed to be more dreary and tedious.
Just like that time, this time was no different. His quests were:

The pain wasn't from the extras added to the pushups or other exercises or the Exp, which fell to two making it a total of ten he could get in a day, but the quest of holding his breath.
"I almost died. When did these daily quests turn into muscular fish training? Makes me feel like Larry," Ruthar grumbled.
He swiped away the notification and towards a notification he found worth looking at: his skills.

**Skills**
Mystic Insight Lv 3
Fourth Sense Lv 3
Recall Lv 1
---
Recall? Ruthar was anxious to see what that skill would do for him. So far, he had no long-range skill that would prove more useful than magic and wished this one would at least serve that cause.
Ruthar stretched his hands and yawned, feeling a hint of sleep.
"Man, I better make the best of this free day and rest up..."
Ruthar froze at a sting in his ear. A slight sound no one could perceive, especially in the rain.
"A footstep, very light and fleeting, closer..."
Ruthar stood up cautiously and stared at the door. At first, he wondered if it was Vance since she had headed out before the rain even began. Although the number of footsteps and the way they came told him differently.
Ruthar rose quickly, rushing to grab his sword from the back of his bed, grasping it with both hands and then facing the door with a harsh glare.
"Thank God for the Sense skill... I am not sure of the power level of the enemy, but I should keep my eyes up. If it is a monster, I might turn up a bit lucky, but if it's an Exorcist, I won't stand a chance."
