Chapter 38: Sister against idiot...
Elara slammed the door of the prison section behind her, coldly taking a moment to reform her expression before walking up the flight of stairs before her.
'I left Ruthar to wallow in pain. Do I feel pleasure from this or utter pain?' She could not fully describe what she felt at the moment. 'I feel pleasure...'
As she continued up the stairs, she met with a person who stood side-rested to the wall and had been watching her since.
It was Rotexa, and she did not seem to be holding any good expressions.
"You came to see Ruthar?" Elara asked, wanting to make the first conversation as she formed a very crooked smile.
"You could say that," Rotexa replied devoid of emotions.
"You must find it hard then," Elara could clearly feel how Rotexa did. She must have looked up to Ruthar as a great brother, and this must have come to her as a big shock. "If you don't want to talk to Ruthar you shouldn't. He's not worth wasting your time."
Rotexa still stood devoid, only nodding to Elara's words. She waited patiently for Elara to finish her sympathized explanations before saying, "In what state did you leave my brother?"
Elara froze up for a second, not knowing how to understand. Rotexa was being very blunt, so aggressively or kindly answering should not be much of a deal.
"I left him more broken than he should be. I tore him apart like he did to me when he left," Elara tried to speak this with the most aggressive and revenge-driven tone she could muster.
Even with her reply, she only got a nod from Rotexa.
"Ok," Rotexa commented, walking down the stairs until she got before Elara, stopping right before her.
Elara raised her left hand towards Rotexa, feeling she needed consoling. As she did that, Rotexa grabbed roughly to her hand, maneuvering quickly as she took Elara off her feet, slamming her down to the ground face first on the stairs.
The impact of the attack made Elara scream as she got badly injured, blood pouring out of her twisted nose and her body badly maimed.
"W-what the hell, Rotexa!" Elara growled, enraged, rising back to her feet. Unfortunately, Rotexa drove the sole of her heel deep into her hind, causing Elara to collapse back to the floor, pinned by Rotexa.
"Now get this straight, bitch! How dare you harm my brother! How dare you make him cry and hate himself just to make you feel better!" Rotexa grabbed the hilt of her sword buried within its scabbard, ready to plunge her blade into Elara.
"If not for my brother's affection for you, I would kill you..." Rotexa took her foot off Elara, spitting down on her resentfully.
'How did I get bested by this four-year-old girl... Damn, it's not possible.'
"Next time you ever think of talking to Ruthar, or even getting closer to him, I'll kill you." With that, Rotexa left Elara some to tend to her injuries.
Taking her time, Elara sat herself, grabbing her twisted nose and tending to her injuries.
'It's all your fault, Ruthar... I'm maltreated everywhere at every turn, and even though I try to be nice, they all spit it back in my face and make me suffer.'
"Oh, mother of the moon, please grant me strength..." Elara began to cry in pain. For so long she had prayed for strength all her years of being with the Darkdawns, but now something had returned to her.
Taenok would always say, "I'll destroy the world for you, just wait for me..."
With the last light of her hopes, she held steadfast to her brother's words as she recalled why she had been sent here.
'I have to find the remaining two Dark Runes in the Spade Horus... Then, when I return, I'll make sure we destroy this place from the face of the planet.'
