"You're learning magic? Are you insane?!" I thundered at the sight before me. Alarmed by my presence, Hayley immediately jumped up from the garden floor, and Miranda followed suit. "What on earth do you think you're doing Miranda?!"
"It's not what it seems like—"
"So what does it seem like? Explain it to me right now!" I interjected before Hayley had the chance to deny the scene I had just witnessed.
"Damian, please, let me explain," Hayley said, her voice steady but pleading. She took a step toward me, her hands slightly raised in a gesture of peace.
"Explain? What could you possibly say to justify this?" I snapped, my anger barely contained. Magic was dangerous, unpredictable, and I had taken my time to explain to her the consequences of obtaining such power. Why on earth would she still want it even after everything I've told her?!
