"All you need to do is put your faith in me. And I promise you that I will guide us to victory."
The Leonardo knights stood there with great curiosity as they saw Evelyn's determined gaze.
They all still had some doubts and reservations but they were now willing to follow her command.
"YES, MY LADY!"
Evelyn then snapped her fingers once again and several more gargoyle statues appeared around the soldiers.
"Before we depart for our quest, we're going to practice our tactic." said Evelyn. "I will teach you all everything you needed to know for this quest. From how we communicate, formations, and plans."
The knights wondered what Evelyn had come up with for them. No matter what opinion they had about her, the knights were all curious about what the young lady has to offer.
They all stared Evelyn with curious gaze. Evelyn stared them back in confidence.
"(Be prepared, knights of Leonardo. In a few moments, you will immerse yourself in the knowledge of military warfare that came from the future.)"
[Bara Arts, Levitation]
Evelyn floated to the air. The gargoyle replicas began to move as well.
"(I'll show you the result of military development which concluded 30 years from now. The amalgamation of combat philosophy from all creations of Einsof!)"
And so, Evelyn began her quest preparation with her soldiers.
They practiced some maneuver involving several archers and a couple of long spearmen. All to prepare them on various scenarios in dealing with the gargoyles.
She also introduced them a new method of communication involving magic which was foreign to the knights.
Not to mention, Evelyn used unfamiliar communicational terms they had never heard of before.
The practice session was just as hard as it was new.
But all the knights managed to get through it thanks to Evelyn's careful guidance. Each instruction Evelyn gave during the training gave the soldiers more assurance that they were in great hands.
Bryce who was watching from the sideline could not help but be amazed as well.
"(Extraordinary! The way she coordinated the soldiers is as good as how a seasoned general would handle their army. How did my daughter come to be like this?)"
After they were done preparing the strategy, Evelyn ordered all the soldiers to gather their weapons and armors in front of her, including the ones Bryce and his five soldiers will be using.
Evelyn then pulled out the Leonardo Grimoire and placed her hand facing the equipment.
[Primordial Arts, Omnipresent Light]
All of the equipment glowed with bright white light, similar to the one that eradicated the lich and its minions during the pilgrimage.
After a short while, the light dissipated.
Evelyn picked up an arrow and sensed a hint of magic hovering on the surface. That phenomenon brought a smile to her face.
"What was that magic, Evelyn?" asked Bryce.
"It's an enhancement spell I found in the grimoire. It's used to strengthen armors and weapons, making them more effective in killing demons." explained Evelyn. "With this spell, our weapons should be three times more effective against demons."
The soldiers were in awe to what the noble lady just said.
Bryce though was concerned about it.
"But Evelyn, the last time you used a spell from the grimoire, you fainted. Are you sure it's okay for you to perform another one just before going on a quest?"
"Don't worry, father. This spell requires barely an eighth the amount of magic needed for the previous spell. It doesn't have a negative impact on me especially now my condition is even better than last time."
Evelyn then looked to her soldiers and gave her command.
"Now we've gone over the plan, gather your equipment and be ready with the horses at the gate. We'll depart for our quest in half an hour."
"YES, MY LADY!"
The soldiers followed Evelyn's command and left the training grounds with their armors and weapons. They promptly scrambled around to prepare for their departure.
Evelyn returned to her room and packed herself some dresses while Giselle prepared her a basket of food. All were then packed and set.
The noble lady looked out the window and saw the soldiers' preparation was going well too.
With everything set for the journey, Evelyn looked to her maid.
"Giselle, would you take me to the chapel in town?"
"Of course, my lady. What business do you have there?"
"What other business is there for one to do in a church other than to seek our God's presence?"
Giselle was taken aback by Evelyn's stern reply.
"Pardon me, my lady. Then, if you'd let me show you the way…"
Evelyn and Giselle then made their way to the estate's gate from which they could head to town.
Waiting for Evelyn by the gate were Bryce and Hannah.
"Father, I thought you've set out already." asked Evelyn.
"Since you will be departing shortly, I figured we can head out together. Your mother also has something to say to you."
"I've been wondering where you've been, mother, since I didn't see you during the strategy meeting." said Evelyn.
"I've been delivering information of your arrival to the village by Stonewall where you'll be staying with the knights for the night. And I've also been busy helping the Stonewall refugee who managed to come to us." said Hannah. "But that's not what I wanted to say to you."
Hannah extended her arm and summoned the magic staff, Lucerna, the Leonardo family heirloom handed from one family head to another.
