His eyes now we're an exotic blend of Silver and Gold, his eyes were still as deep as they were before now holding an air of mystery.
His vision however was something else
"This is more than just seeing the astral, my field of vision and optical awareness has increased greatly it should on par with a core formation cultivator from my old world," he assessed keenly
"I can see even minute details that would be overlooked due to their small size, that along with astral vision...more importantly..." he paused as he gazed around him hundreds of if not thousands of souls encircled him, all of them bearing intrigue as they readied themselves to attack only to be pulled by a domineering vortex of energy.
"Stupid undead do you think I'm one to easily possess... you lot gazing at my soul is akin to death itself," he bellowed with pride as he Practiced the ghost cultivator's technique to fuel his own technique.
In cultivation most have their main Cultivation Technique/Manual this is followed up by a supporting technique which may aid the main one in its function or increase the versatility of the said cultivator.
"Why must I be convinced by the mediocrity of this world, despite the difference I still refuse to be the lap dog of some spoiled bastard," he voiced his conviction as his own technique pulsed with golden grandeur [Celestial body] one of his core techniques that made him unrivalled by most it increased ones strength agility endurance vitality and augments their senses with each threshold providing great elevations not to mention how it rebuilt one body from the inside out.
"Given that it has nine stages I must be at least at the first stage by tomorrow," he set his goal as he cultivated the souls easily grasping his Celestial body while increasing it's comprehension.
"With so many souls I should reach the first stage," he summarised based on the sheer quantity of souls.
As the intensity of his aura grew the souls dwindled in number until he drained the very last but then it got him the first of many consequences of ghost cultivators Technique.
What happens when a being absorbs another's Soul? They take their everything from achievements to enlightenment to knowledge skills abilities to the point where there personalities may experience change if their will is not adequately strong to contest the foreign, at worst it may result to possession while at minimum it results in split personality disorder.
The souls of the fallen memories attacked Sam consciousness as he assimilated them into his being their memories struggles joys all assaulted him all bearing the same question at the end that nagged them even in death.
WHY ME?! WHY DID I HAVE TO DIE?! WHY ARE YOU ALIVE?! WHY?!
They repeatedly asked as their questions looped over and over till it became akin to a demented mantra.
'I do not know why you died, nor do I care in the slightest, death is death even if you question it to eternity there is no sufficient answer I can give,' he replied with his own experience
'Be happy you can now rest in peace and not be bound to this plane for eternity,' he advised as he exerted his will subduing theirs until all that remained was him. He exhaled sharply as his body released dark waste like tar with an insufferable smell, his eyes shone with clarity as he inhaled deeply as he felt his body renewed with vigor.
'The first stage of heavenly body, it so close a soul or two would suffice but.... This much is fine, besides it's been a while since I've felt this way,' he smiled 'it reminds me of the first time I was introduced to cultivation,' he chuckled as he stood up removing his clothes.
'I should have brought some clothes, how troublesome,' he sighed at his faults. 'Carls place is the nearest I'll just head there and borrow some of his,' he concluded as he was about to leave something caught his eye.
A flicker of blue that left a trail of cerulean, in one of the alley ways of the slums Sam follwed the flickering existence stealthy.
'A Soul whose will is as whole as a Wandering Spectre? Am i truly in a world devoid of Cultivators? Or is cultivation hidden beneath an Ocean of heavy waters?' He mused inwardly never losing sight or presence of the wandering Spectre.
After various turns and corners Sam was able to come to a not so very clear conclusion.
'It's a soul of someone who lives within the area that has yet to process or accept their deaths, I thought it was something interesting seems like i was wrong.'
Just as he was about to pounce on the soul something happened that caused Sam's brows to burrow, the soup was trying to possess a living being.
But this wasn't enough to make Sam's brows burrow, what shocked him was that the wandering Spectre and the Soul of the homeless man lying on the floor drunk amd high was one and the same.
'Are they twins? No souls are never Identical, but this doesn't make sense how does a living and dead soul share so much similarities?' He questioned as his exotic eyes glowed, his gaze brightened as he lost the deathly darkness that was always in his eyes.
Sam watched on as the soul entered that of the homeless man and tried to take ownership of the body, a battle of souls erupted with the wandering Spectre proving to be quite the strong one.
The Homeless mans soul was quitely expelled, normally this would have resulted kn death but due to the presence of the wandering Spectre the man lived.... Briefly.
His body suddenly started convulsing as if her were suffering from an epileptic episode, until he finally went still and the wandering Spectre was expelled from his body killing him in the process.
Sam watched the entire time not making any moves, the mans death was unnatural and distribung to say the least but what caught his attention was the two near identical souls that floated above the mans corpse.
'Fascinating, they truly seem identical.' he mused as he finally made a move, he pulled in yhe two souls and begun harvesting their essence as he used it to cultivate.
And them it happened when he finally touched upon the memories of the homeless man, both homeless men he was things, things that a Qi-less world wasn't supposed to have.
Sam broke into a smile, a devious smile that most of his past enemeies had seen and come to despair.
The Uncrowned King was Curious and interested, this was a good thing if obly you weren't the subject of interest.
"It would seem that this world isn't going to be too boring."
His Celestial Body broke the final layer that was holding him back as he finally reached the first level, the remnant essence was used to further refime his foundation as he breathed out a held breath.
