The feast was in full swing, and everyone was enjoying themselves, but Jarvis felt a nagging unease. He trusted his master's strength, but the memory of Akira's last episode of unconsciousness haunted him. Determined to ensure his master's safety, Jarvis made up his mind to investigate.
Jarvis patted the wyvern and climbed onto its back. The wyvern didn't resist. "Let's fly," Jarvis commanded. The wyvern pushed off the ground, flapped its wings, and gradually gained altitude. At the town's outskirts, Jarvis shouted to Alphagob, "Hey Alphagob, I will return soon. Until then, keep the town safe." Alphagob looked at Jarvis, wondering what the old man was up to now, but he stayed put.
Jarvis headed straight for the mountains, where Akira had shown him. It didn't take long to reach the location, and what he saw shocked him. The original base was there. Jarvis rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. As he circled above, arrows started flying towards them. The wyvern barely dodged the first one and more followed.
On the ground, the hunting hobgoblins had launched arrows at the circling wyvern. Betagob noticed the wyvern's strange movements and realized it might be Master's. He quickly jumped onto the roof, grabbing the hobgoblins and preventing them from shooting more arrows.
Seeing the commotion, Jarvis ordered the wyvern to land in front of the gate. The wyvern landed with a roar of anger. Betagob opened the gate himself and apologized, "I'm sorry, Master Jarvis. The watchers attacked on their own. But it's not their fault, we are in an unknown area and on high alert because Master Akira is resting."
Upon hearing this, Jarvis said, "I'm going to see Master Akira now." As soon as Jarvis entered the gate, the wyvern swung at Betagob, who raised his guard just in time. Though not a direct hit, Betagob was pushed back a few feet. The hobgoblins readied themselves to defend, but Betagob shouted, "Stop everyone!" Betagob then walked up to the wyvern, "We are even now. I'm sorry for before." The wyvern roared again at point-blank range in Betagob's face.
Suddenly, Akira appeared outside, shouting, "What is the meaning of all this?" Anger was evident on his face. The wyvern, seeing Akira's anger, lowered its head and clung to the ground, visibly scared.
"Jarvis, what is going on here?" Akira asked. Jarvis explained how he came, the arrow attack, and the wyvern's retaliation. Akira pointed at the wyvern, "Go to the backyard now." The wyvern, frightened, crawled away.
Akira, holding a mana core, caught Jarvis's attention. "Master, what happened?" Jarvis asked.
"Let's go inside," Akira replied. They walked into the house, and Akira sat down, explaining, "I overestimated my mana pool and teleported the whole base with all its contents here."
"How are you feeling now, Master?" Jarvis inquired.
"I'm okay now. I have a good amount of mana in me, and this mana core helped a lot," Akira responded.
"Master, you missed a really good feast," Jarvis remarked.
"I hope everything went smoothly," Akira said.
"Yes, my lord, everything was great," Jarvis replied. "So, what are we going to do now?"
"Archie will govern the town, and we will help develop it. He will oversee all official business and report directly to you. If you need anything, you can ask me. I'm going to focus on getting stronger and creating a small monster army for myself," Akira explained.
"Okay, Master. I will do my best," Jarvis assured him.
"First, we will start by constructing new strong bridges to attract merchants and collect taxes from their business here. The town's prime location will certainly attract many big merchants," Akira continued.
"Master, what about the Duatt army?" Jarvis asked.
"I will work on that too, don't worry. The mansion of the lord will be used as the governor's house and a court. All official business and criminal trials will be conducted there," Akira said.
Jarvis nodded, thinking about how to make these plans a reality. Akira then added, "A lot of work needs to be done in a short period of time." He put the mana core back in his inventory and said, "I've been thinking a lot."
"About what, Master?" Jarvis asked.
"This town will grow big, so we need a name for it," Akira replied.
"Yes, indeed," Jarvis agreed.
"How about Babylon?" Akira suggested.
"What does Babylon mean, Master?" Jarvis asked.
"It means the gate of the gods," Akira explained.
"Wonderful, Master. It will be an attractive name for the town," Jarvis said. "Master, I think you should also name the wyvern."
"Yes, just calling him wyvern is not good," Akira agreed. After a moment of silence, Jarvis suggested, "How about we name it Fury? Because it always has a mean attitude." He laughed.
Akira smiled, "Yes, it will suit him well. Let's go name him."
They walked to the backyard, where they saw Fury scratching its back against a treant, which looked annoyed. Akira approached Fury, who stopped scratching. Akira patted his face and said, "From now on, your name is Fury. The hobgoblins and ogres are your comrades, so don't get angry at them. The arrows launched at you were a mistake. They are sorry, so don't be mean from now on."
Fury understood Akira's words and started snuggling against Akira's body. Akira then called for Betagob. "Fury is sorry for his actions," Akira said. "You are sorry, right, Fury?" The wyvern nodded and lowered his head.
"It's nothing," Betagob said, "Fury is really strong."
"Yes, Fury is a strong wyvern," Akira agreed. He then told Jarvis, "You should rest because there is a lot of work to be done tomorrow. I'm going to meditate throughout the night, and my appearance might change a bit by morning."
"Okay, my lord," Jarvis said.
Akira turned to Betagob, "Let the hobgoblins rest. This is a relatively safe area. Two hobgoblins should be enough for the night." Akira then teleported to his room and lay on his bed.
"Alfred," Akira called.
"Yes, Master?" Alfred replied.
"I think we should proceed with my evolution to a higher human," Akira said.
"Yes, Master, I will start working on it now," Alfred responded.
