Destiny's POV
"Let me go!" I shouted as I tried to get away from their hold, but they were stronger than me. Carmie was holding my right hand while she was tugging my hair, and her mother was holding my left hand.
"You should not talk to your father anymore, Destiny. It is over, so you better leave now while he is giving you a chance to walk out from here freely." My stepmother declared.
"I won't leave, this is my home, and my parents house. You can never make me leave. You two were the ones who should leave since you have no right to be here." I countered, and it earned me another face slap from my stepmom.
She had hit me countless times ever since she became my stepmother. I told my dad the first time she slapped me, but he didn't believe in me. I stopped telling him since I didn't want any trouble. I tried to stay away from them, but they never stopped hurting me.
"Destiny, you have nothing here, and Dad said you should leave," Carmie said as they continued to drag me with them, and they only let me go when we reached my room.
My stepmom opened the door, and they pushed me inside, which made me fall to the floor.
"You should pack your bags now, or else you will be bringing nothing. Be thankful I asked your father to give you a chance to get your things." Carmen declared.
"He wanted you to disappear after that big scandal. He doesn't want to see you anymore, but I begged him. You have no idea how much it cost for your dad to stop the press people from publishing your vicious act." She added, and I felt so angry with them.
"How can you even face me after planning such a devious thing?" I asked, and my stepmother laughed.
"We want to see the pain in your face, Destiny, and most of all, we want to show you the victorious smiles on our faces. We win, and you lose. Even if you are the legal heir of your father, you put him in a very delicate situation where his reputation is at stake." Carmen declared.
"Now, you are nothing but trash," her daughter added.
"You only have one hour to get ready," My stepmom said before they turned around and left.
I was still on the floor. I tried to keep my head high and fight my tears, but a single tear escaped from my left eye. I wiped it with my fingers as I slowly stood up and walked towards my bed.
"Mom, what should I do now?" I mumbled as I sat on the edge of my bed.
I still believe my dad was only angry; once his anger subsided, he would come to me and apologize.
I quickly stood up and showered; I needed to go to Red's place before Carmie could wreck me. She had been flirting with him since arriving at our estate the first day.
Red was living with his dad near our house; it was my father's house. He gave it to them since Red's father was one of the loyal employees of our estate.
Ricardo was my dad's driver growing up, and he got married late to one of the maids. They had a son, Red. My first love grew up in our household, and we were good friends. I knew I had always been in love with him.
I felt so happy when he confessed his feelings to me when I was in 10th grade, and he was in his senior year, but he only became my official boyfriend right after Carmie and her mother showed up unexpectedly.
My original plan was to have a boyfriend after high school graduation, but I couldn't stand Carmie's continued flirting with Red. So, I said yes to him the summer before I started my senior year.
I never regretted my decision since Red has been so loyal to me. We are so much in love, and it made Carmie jealous of me. My good scholastic records in school were tainted because of her.
I should have graduated as the class valedictorian in high school, but she sabotaged it by stealing my project in physics, and she became the Valedictorian.
My father was angry with me and became so proud of Carmie. It took her years to get my father's full attention, but she never gained Red's trust, and that is the only thing I have right now: Red's love.
I felt happy since Red passed the bar examination two years ago, and he is now one of the lawyers at my father's company. And I am now ready to start my first day on Monday as one of my father's employees.
He wanted me to start at the bottom as an ordinary employee, and I didn't complain about being one of the rank-and-file employees because I wanted to learn things and start from scratch.
While Carmie demanded to be part of the management as the sales department manager, her mother insisted, and my dad agreed to it. I had no right to oppose my dad's decision.
Last night was the Gala we all attended.
"What? No, you should be my date, Des. You are my girlfriend, and I don't like to be seen with Carmie." Red said the day before the event.
"My stepmom cornered me; she told me she would do something during the gala if I did not convince you to be Carmie's date," I replied as I pouted my lips and sat in his lap.
We were alone in his room, and I could smell his intoxicating scent, which always drives me crazy.
"Please, you know them; they will never stop bothering me if they want something," I added, and he let out a heavy sigh before he cupped my face.
"Okay, but this is the last time I will say yes to your request for a favor to your step-sister. I am tired of them doing something like this for you. I told you it is time to give them the taste of their own medicine." My boyfriend responded with irritation on his handsome, boyish face.
"It is not yet time; besides, I can always take care of myself. I still believe they can never put a good person down," I replied, and Red shook his head.
"Promise, you will never turn your back on me, whatever happens, Red," I added, and he smiled as he caressed my face with his calloused fingers.
"Why should I do that to you? You are my world, Des, and my only one." He responded before he claimed my mouth, and we shared a passionate kiss long enough to make us both breathless.
"If I agree to be your step-sister's date, who would be your date, Lucas?" He asked, and I frowned at him.
"Why do you hate Lucas that much? He used to be your friend?" I asked as I traced his perfect nose with my fingers.
"I don't like how he looks at you whenever he is around. Then, he courted you, and I just couldn't believe he still confessed to you even if I told him I liked you." He answered, and I laughed.
"Lucas is now married, Red; I never liked him. Aside from my dad, I only loved one guy in my twenty-two years of existence, and it was you." I responded, and he gave me one of his sweetest smiles.
Yes! Red has the best smile. My boyfriend's smile was always radiant as a star, making him the center of attention wherever he went. Not only that, but he is also 168 cm tall and has a toned body, making him look so hot. His mesmerizing blue eyes were perfect, and he was too handsome for me.
He was the campus crush during high school and college, and I used to be so jealous of those girls who came to our estate looking for him during summers.
He always told me that if I became his girlfriend, those girls would stop coming to our estate, and I denied him so many times because I was afraid that if my father found out I chose Red as my boyfriend, he would get angry with me.
But I was wrong; my dad adored Red, and I couldn't believe Red asked my dad if it was okay if he would court me.
"Yeah, I knew he was married, but it never stopped him from flirting with you, even in front of his wife. He told me he loves you and couldn't forget you. If you ever break up with me, please don't choose Lucas; find another man except him." He declared.
"Come on, let us not talk about him, Red, and please stop talking about break up because not even in my wildest dream I would break up with you, my hot attorney," I whispered in his ear, and he chuckled.
I giggled as Red started kissing my face, lips, neck, and down to my collarbone.
I snapped back to the present, put on my favorite tattered jeans and white sleeveless tank top, and picked my flip-flops. Using an elastic band, I pulled my long mahogany straight hair into a ponytail.
As I stared at my pale reflection in my vanity mirror, I could see the swelling of both my eyes, and I wondered what kind of drug Carmie put on my juice the other night.
I tiptoed as I walked away from my room, afraid my enemies would find me sneaking out of the house instead of packing my things. I made my way to the back door of our home and sprinted towards the two-story house of Red's family.
I didn't need to knock since I was sure he was inside because it was Sunday and his day off, and we planned to watch a movie today. I knew he was the only one who could help me with my dad. Red is one of my father's favorite people, especially after he passed the BAR exam.
I couldn't forget how we celebrated that night, and I fought with Carmie after I found her kissing Red in the hallway; I saw how she threw herself at him, and I had never been so angry with anyone.
I had to explain to him that Carmie had taken my phone. I turned the doorknob and walked inside. The house was quiet, and I wondered where his parents were. I smiled as I took the stairs and went to his room. I could see his bedroom door was left ajar, and I was about to get inside when I heard a woman's voice.
"Oh, Red, harder! Please, harder! I had been dying to make love with you, and taste you, and make you mine!" It was my step-sister's voice, and my entire body trembled.
I didn't want to see what they were doing inside, but my curiosity and anger made me.
I peeked and froze behind the door as I found my step-sister naked on top of my boyfriend, and she was riding him and having the best time of her life.
"Red, how could you do this to me?" I asked as I got inside, and I could see the alarm on his face as he quickly stood up, but his facial expression changed into anger.
"You are asking me that now? You are the one who cheated on me, Destiny. I love you so much, and I couldn't believe you would sleep with Lucas behind my back." He said with outrage, and this was the first time I saw him so angry with me.
"You lied to me and played with my heart," he added, and I shook my head.
"No, I never lied to you, Red. You have to believe me; Carmie and her mother planned it all, Red." I declared.
"I saw the video, Des; it was over between us. I can't be with someone like you, and you have no right to act that way as if you are jealous of Carmie being alone naked with me." He replied as if what he had done was nothing.
"You let Lucas touch you while I respected you because I love you. I haven't touched you all these years because I know you are not yet ready." He added with bitterness.
"Yet, you slept with a married man; I don't think I need to explain why I want to break up with you. I don't want to do anything with you; you better leave now, Destiny; I don't want to drag you out of here." He added as he looked at me with wrath and disappointment in his gorgeous eyes. I could no longer see the love and tenderness in his eyes every time he looked at me.
"You heard him, Destiny. Red wanted you to disappear, and he hated you." My half-sister stated. She didn't even bother to cover her nakedness, and I could see the smile of victory all over her face.
"You are really good at ruining my moment; you ruined our escapade. We still need to orgasm, and I am almost there before you disturb us. Go!" She shouted while Red held my wrist and pushed me out of his room.
He loudly closed his bedroom door in my face, just like the way my father did, and I couldn't explain the kind of pain that enveloped my heart. No matter how I told myself it wasn't over, I could feel my entire world crumbling.
I didn't know how long I stood in front of Red's bedroom door. My feet were too heavy, but when I heard their moaning and the words I should not hear, I needed to draw all my strength and walk out of Red's house.
Red's betrayal equaled the pain I felt after my father told me he wanted me to leave our house. I didn't care if he would disinherit me; I only wanted my father's love and affection. I walked back towards our mansion, feeling more defeated and betrayed by the person I love the most.
