Silas leaned back and crossed his legs.
He wondered about the amount of information he should tell Renan. As he think, Silas was already crossing out some things he couldn't tell the old man. His identity as a wizard was one of them.
'I can't play it safe here,' he thought. "Once Renan questions Finn, discrepancies in our stories are bound to be inevitable."
He cleared his throat as he prepared to speak. Leaving the man in silence for longer might add more suspicion on Silas's part.
Silas launched into his story. He started with Kara's abduction since it was the situation that brought them together.
"Then after he showed me the parchments he found, we went to the library to get information on translating them," Silas said. "I suggest we open the chest."
Renan's eyes narrowed, and he sighed. "You opened those chests?"
Silas nodded.
