"Ben, please watch Sammy for a while. I want to talk to Viona outside," Joe said to Ben while Sammy was fast asleep. The younger brother nodded, signaling that Joe could go with Viona.
"Come with me," said Joe who was immediately given a nod by Viona.
The handsome widower preferred to take Viona to the hospital garden, sitting together in a long chair there.
"So, how was it?" Joe asked briefly.
"You mean?" Viona responded confused.
"Do you want to continue working for me?"
Viona was silent. She seemed to be thinking, 'What should I say to him?' She thought to herself.
"Sammy seems to like you. It's rare for him to act like that towards someone he's just met," Joe began discussing Sammy.
"I don't know, I'm confused,"
Joe sighed at Viona's coldness. His eyes looked at a small man who seemed to be the same age as Sammy playing ball in a hospital gown, "Is it because of what my mother said?" he asked spontaneously.
