After a long time, Barbara reached Matilda's house. When she got in, she found Greta sleeping while Hans sitting beside the window. He never glanced at her since she came in. She knew he was still angry at her.
"Matilda said you did not eat your dinner. It is not healthy to skip your meals. You have to eat a lot to grow up fast," she said, but the boy kept silent. Barbara sighed and walked closer.
"I am sorry to make this decision without talking to you. Because I know if I did, you will never agree—"
"Then why? Why did you do that?" Hans yelled, his eyes swelled with tears.
Barbara felt a pang in her heart. "You need a house to live in. When you grow up, you will have a name for your own, a job to handle, a wife to dictate yourself to and children to teach how life works."
"Those things did not matter to me!"
"It will. But you have to know one thing. Kristie will never leave you and your sister," she squatted, holding his hands.
