The columns and rubble walls were piled on top of each other, so Joshua and Billy had no clear view of the other side of the ruins.
They didn't know what was happened to the rest of the group; and this worry made them look even more confused and anxious; and they prayed that Zack, Elaine, and Karina were okay.
They climbed over the rubble to get a look.
But when they reached the top, several remaining columns of the building were in their line of sight, so they everywhere checked as far as the eye could see. But there was no sign of Zack or Elaine.
Their hearts were beating fast, as if it wanted to burst out of their chests. It was beating so loudly that they could hear their own heartbeats clearly.
Unable to bear it any longer, they crossed the rubble without realizing it, crawled like madmen everywhere to find any sign of the rest of the group.
Joshua and Billy were so scared at this moment that they thought their lives were over; they weren't afraid of death, they were afraid of seeing Zack, Elaine, and Karina no longer by their side.
Billy was shaking and out of breath from excessive anxiety, only at this moment did Joshua slap himself to reduce his madness when he saw that distraught face of Billy.
At least at this moment, someone should have been a little more alert.
He gently grabbed Billy's shoulder and patted his back and said to him like a kind brother: "Calm down, Billy, they're fine. You know Zack is stronger than me; so nothing bad has happened!"
He gently sat Billy down on a rock, so that his position would stabilize a little. So he sat down next to him and became like a support for him.
"Billy, you know, the first time I saw you, I thought you were a brat who couldn't do anything. That's why, I always grumbled about Elaine bringing why you into the group. But when that day when the first wave of monsters started and I was hurt because of my stubbornness, I saw how bravely you stood up and didn't leave me there, of course if it wasn't for you that day, I would have died. I never thanked you for your help that day, so I'll tell you now, thank you for saving me. You're not a weak person at all."
Billy was still shaking, but after hearing Joshua's words, he calmed down a little. He was still leaning on Joshua and said, "Hey, why are you talking like that, do you want to die?!"
Joshua started laughing after hearing Billy's words. "Hahaha..., no, I want to live longer than this, I want to do a lot of work and I want to bother you every day, so I don't want to die so soon. Are you better now?!"
Billy punched Joshua hard in the stomach after hearing what he said. "You... bastard."
"Haha...looks like you're fine."
While Joshua and Billy were discussing, suddenly footsteps were heard. So they finished their discussion and looked around carefully, and saw a shadow approaching them.
So Joshua and Billy quickly hid in a corner to monitor the shadow. After a while, the shadow became more visible. Although they were still a little far away, they could clearly recognize that silver hair in the darkness, he was Zack.
So Joshua and Billy went towards him without hesitation.
"Zack, Zack, we're here."
Zack walked towards them upon hearing that familiar voice.
"Ha, you guys are okay."
Billy and Joshua were very happy to see Zack, and the turmoil in their hearts calmed down a little.
"We're fine, where are Elaine and Karina?!"
Zack was relieved to see that Joshua and Billy were safe.
But his face was tense and sad. He lowered his head like a sinner and looked nervous. This made Joshua and Billy a little uneasy.
"Hey Zack, did something happen to Elaine and Karina?! Hurry up and tell me where they are?!"
Zack said in a worried manner, "Karina is unconscious and Elaine..."
"Elaine what?!"
"Elaine is injured and still unconscious?!"
Joshua and Billy became even more confused after hearing Zack's words.
Joshua turned to Zack angrily and said, "Hey, pull yourself together. Let's go to Elaine and Karina."
After a few minutes, they arrived at the place where Elaine and Karina were.
Elaine was still unconscious, but Karina, when the two of them encountered her, they were very surprised.
"What happened to Karina?! Why is she like this?!"
Zack also didn't really know what happened to Karina, he was completely shocked after seeing that situation.
"I don't know why Karina is like a 4-year-old; it could be the side effects of the awakening she went through."
Anyway, they didn't have time, they had to leave the place as soon as possible. So they picked up Elaine and Karina and left the place towards Verdi.
Tahel was still sitting in a corner waiting for the group to arrive.
"They're late, why aren't they coming?!"
More than half an hour had passed since Joshua and Billy left, and there was still no news of their return. At this moment, many thoughts were running through Tahel's mind. "They did leave me and did go? It's true that I'm a useless person who doesn't even know my own identity. I don't even have any abilities. I'm just an extra burden."
These thoughts were still parading through his mind. He wanted to end them, but he couldn't. He had no self-confidence. Even though Elaine's group was very kind to him, even though he seemed like a strange person, they had sheltered him.
That's why he felt that it might be better for them if they left him.
He believed in Elaine, Joshua, Billy, and even Karina and Zack, even though Zack was mean to him, he didn't seem like such a bad person either.
However, Tahel didn't trust himself. His mind was cultivating sinister thoughts and this set him annoyance. "They left you. You are a miserable creature. You have no place in this group. You are weak."
This half hour was very exhausting for Tahel. Until a strange sound filled the entire area. A sound like branches breaking and hitting the ground. As if many creatures were rushing into this place.
Tahel was confused and didn't know what to do until a familiar voice caressed his ear.
"Hey boy, move, we have to run away before those monsters get there."
It was Joshua's voice. Tahel turned towards the source of the sound after hearing that voice. All the group were there.
Tahel's heart calmed down after seeing them. "They didn't leave me."
But something worried him a little. Elaine was unconscious and Zack was carrying her on his back and Billy was holding Karina in his arms. It seemed that things were not going well for their group at all. And that ominous voice was getting closer.
So Tahel, without hesitation, rushed towards the group.
And without delay, they went to the labyrinth of roots.
