Chapter 36 : Ready For The Unfair Obnoxious Fairness Part 1.
Absolutely and completely impossible of being nable to hold back at all the raging enthusiasm i am going through thanks to my newly acquired thermal vision, or probably is more suitable to call it "Kinetic Sight", because i can see the Kinetic Energy around and thus the tempetature.
{Slayçęr commented to me that the "Temperature" is the average Kinetic Energy of an object or organism}
But with this incredible ability, a couple of question are lingering on my "Not Paranoid" head.
{What more i can learn watching the secrets unbeknown to me?, How much more is hidden on full display?, and simultaneously, Can i get or obtain a way to have them too?, i neee to know!}
—"Cooper", "Why you didn't start the procedure to control Kinetic Energy with your body from your head first?…
Inquire stoically Bverxkka against me, it is not a scolding, but the way he speaks, naturally, feels like one.
»—You would have obtained Kinetic Sight, being capable to see how the Kinetic Energy reacts within you, thus accelerating the rest of the process without your neck mishap that provoked your migraine.
{Oh!, i understand what he is saying, is like knowing how to transmit the Kinetic Energy and from where, That could have been of help if i had the full knowledge from the start…}
—Well, all i know about Kinetic Energy is basically of what you showed to me "Apex", How could i be aware of the "Sight" if you forget to tell me about it?!.
My reasoning is not wrong, which is shown in Bverxkka posture, plus the not surprising lack of empathy he has in general, however, he once again does something quite unexpected and at the same time, it was obvious.
—You are right "Cooper", i should have anticipated your inability to determine something so evident due to your general inexperience in manipulating Energy to begin with…
{It is me… , Or Bverxkka just called me dumb in the nicest way possible?!}
»—I will try not to repeat this mistake in the future… , in order to do that, i have to express that you are a neophyte at this, so don't over utilize this capability, to stop using the Kinetic Sight, Relax yourself… , To employ it again, Tense the muscles around your eyes, almost as if you would be enraged.
Following Bverxkka advice while resuming the walk, i corroborate his words, remarking during the short journey i have with my Teammates, How marvelous is to have this new unlocked capability, causing jealousy in Dallas and curiosity on Thyfall, who ask for the advantages of this acquisition so i reply to her.
—An advantage "Snow Bunny",would be observing the "Heat Firm" of the creatures that are approching us from below.
§ Carnivorous Hare (1-8) §
Level 0 - 6
Integrity • 15/15 - 45/45
Capacity • 0/10 - 0/30
Action • 20 - 80
§ Invaders - Horde §
I can't see their appearance yet, however, if i know about the incoming threat, then Bverxkka is aware of them too.
My sudden verbal warning surprises Thyfall and alerts Dallas, as a vibration appears and rapidly goes from being mild to violently destroy a part of the ground near us, making the fallen leaves to be splatter around like confetti and revealing 3 tunnel.
Emerging from these 3 holes a total of 8 spinning balls of grayish white fur, larger than a Great Dane, a really big dog from "Ground".
This animals cease their rolling, showing their sharp front teeth as they stand on their hind legs, adopting an upright posture, imitating being stand up like us, with which red spots depicted the bleeding snout of these large creatures..
{The blood is not theirs, they simply eat someone or something before reaching us, that is the most obvious answer}
At that precise moment, the dirt floor that surrounds us becomes smooth and white, erecting a gigantic cell that emanates a dim whitish light similar to the indigo cage that constrain us individually inside the "Battle Pit".
That is not the only strange thing occuring, as my Teammates and the Hares are displaced from their positions around us, being forced to adopt a 4x2 formation in front of us.
Although something similar applies to the Team, with the 4 most resistant of us aligned in front of Thyfall, the fifth member of our team, and the only one in the back, just as if we had to protect her.
{What is going on here?!}
Out of nowhere two dices with pentagonal faces appear, one near the larges Hare and the other one right besides Bverxkka.
{I think this are called a Dodecahedrons, but i really wasn't very good at geometry, I could be wrong}
The Large Hare hit the dice, the twelve faces spin around over the now white luminous floor, showing a "9".
Bverxkka imitates the action, and after a few rolls over itself, the dice stops, and the "12" is the number he got.
—Good!, We have priority on the same "Action"!.
Dallas commented excitedly.
{He knows what is happening!}
Above our heads a number appears, from one to five in the Team, and from one to eight in the case of the Hares.
—What is going on "Blondie"?!
My question is rapidly answered by Dallas.
—Have you not read it?!, "Obnoxious Turn Base Combat", we have a certain "Action" gain, when someone reaches "100" of it, can have a "Turn", every attack you can possibly make in real life, you can do it hear, but they have double cost, "Action" and "Capacity", if you tried to do any movement that you don't have enough of those two to pay for it, then youbdont deal any damage and just waste the Turn, so the most usual is to start the combat with punches, because they are allowed with "60 Action".
{Wait, What?!, that sounds utterly disgusting, i learned how to box a little bit, and that it is not going to give me any advantage because i can evade, block, deflect or make a combination?, at least that is what i understood from what Dallas said…}
{This way, anyone can win, even a martial artist would struggle here, all the training is basically irrelevant?!, all for naught?!, this is morbidly hideous!, Who thought in this abhorrent absurdity?!}
Since we do not have another option or choice aside to participate in the incoming fight, we fastly check out our own Interfaces, but this one is slightly shorter than the one i observe previously in me or my Teammates.
§ (#4) Coopernoid §
Level 0 - (0/100D)
Integrity • 50/50
Capacity • 0/50
Action • 85
§ Development - 0 §
{I have 85 Action gain?, Is that good or bad?, The Hare have 80 Action, What about Development, What it is?, How do i obtain it?, What is its use for?}
As usual, my rambling due to Pragmatic Disposition is stopped by the apparition of an holographic indigo sentence between the Hares and my Teammates.
∆×∆ | SET 1/5 - ROUND 1 | ∆×∆
As soon as this words dissaper, my movement is severated, i can't make any move apart of breathing, blinking, my blood flow and my mouth.
{I think i can still talk}
∆×∆ | Wildkyr'zon | ∆×∆
—You start Amazon!.
Scream Dallas, the Valkyrie look at the front and moves fast hitting the head of the Hear employing her half closed half open right hand.
I don't know what to say, it looks menacing, but is absolutely nothing in comparison to the damage dealt by the woman, crushing the head of the of the big animal and sinking his hand in the head, obviously braking the skull but without ripping off the furry skin.
* -24 Integrity (Critical Hit) *
That is a number that appear in holographic Golden and Black letters, the floating indigo "6" above the Hare head dissipates and another notification sounds.
* FIRST BLOOD + 50 DEVELOPMENT *
* ONE STRIKE + 25 DEVELOPMENT *
* KILL PER SET (1) + 10 DEVELOPMENT *
* KILL + 5 DEVELOPMENT *
Fastly i check the Amazon Interface.
§ (#2) Wildkyr'zon §
Level 0 - (0/100D)
Integrity • 50/50
Capacity • 24/50
Action • 175
§ Development - 110 §
{She won 20 Development for killing the Hare?, Why she has a "#2" if she is the first in having a Turn, No, it has a hashtag, the meaning of that was dangerousness, but on the right side i suspect is the most lethal of our team, considering how clingy is the Amazon with Bverxkka, is obvious to think that the most menacing of us, is clearly him}
∆×∆ | Stoicallyon | ∆×∆
Bverxkka moves instantly against the Hare with a "1" on his head, he does a hook blow to the animal's head, an holographic sixteen in Osmium and Black letters appear denoting it is a Critical Hit too.
{Not bad, but is 66% of the damage dealt by the Valkyrie}
In the next second i have to gulp down my own thoughts, as a lilac transluscent silhouette of Bverxkka materialize itself and repeat the hook blow, hitting in the same spot.
If the previous strike had injured the Creature, this one was undeserved by the poor animal, who gets its head splattered to its right side, dirtying all the other Hares with red blood, staining visibly their whitish grey fur…
