In 31 days, I will have aged another year. In 30 days, I will be killed. In 28 days, I will have fought someone I believed to be my closest ally. In 21 days, I will have lost everyone I held dearest to me. In 14 days, I will be betrayed. In 7 days, I will cause a war. Tonight, I will have gone mad.Â

When I turned eighteen, the world was finally open to me. Every star showed itself as if to welcome me into the world finally. My eighteenth birthday was a mark of freedom. I believed that everything would be open for me. That's what I thought until I found myself hung upside down a ditch watching my grave be dug. That moment is now. What caused this? Let's get out of this situation before I attempt to finish that mess. "You fellas are way too into this don't you think?" I ask. "Well," a man in a scruffy voice begins, "you 'fellas' got yourselves into this mess." he finished, stressing 'fellas.' I guess I never mentioned that I brought a friend with me. Don't worry, he's not terribly important currently. "Well, we don't have to get into semantics now do we? It's all a little bit of a misunderstanding." I respond with. "A misunderstanding?" comments one of the men next to the main speaker. He's scrawny and short. He doesn't seem capable of much unlike the scruffy man. "You tore through a platoon of our men for no other reason than...boredom?" He finishes with a stare of disbelief. "Boredom? More like trying to survive your men following us but sure, boredom fits." I've already looked around for my options to escape and the only way of escape I have found is crawling my way out of a grave. "Regardless of your intentions," the scrawny man rebuts, "you killed our men and there's zero chance we'll allow your release at this moment. Remember how this all began anyway? It all started because you--" I cut him off. "I didn't do a damn thing and I refuse to admit I did something I never did! You and your goons came chasing after us over a silly printing mistake. I refuse to die for your faults!" The man with the scruffy voice begins shouting. "You idiots! If it were a mistake I would have known by now. Even if by a miracle we do find out it was a mistake, It's too late for you now. You're an affiliate with our group, our empire; making you, both of you, a threat. Your graves are ready for you to be dropped in." My friend speaks up, "well hold on, there's no way you actually think our disappearance will go unnoticed, do you? As far as you know, we could be total celebs." From the few months I've known this man, his words have only sunk us deeper and deeper. I believe this may be the first time the man may leave us off better than we were.Â
