Chapter 2 - Kind of strong

Ertex confused, looked at Artrus' panel.

[Lv - 3

(15/125 EXP)]

After he checked his panel and many others', he saw that the requirements for leveling up kept increasing, him being the only one needing the same amount.

'Either my system is completely fucked because of my stats, or someone is forcefully interfering.'

He didn't know for sure which one was it. The possibility of the system not working properly was pretty high, and since the attribute point were of no use for him, that could very well be the case.

But maybe someone was trying to tell him something? Maybe he needed to level up fast? Maybe he needed to have a high level after this phase?

But why would someone help him? For what?

He never liked having too many questions without answers, so he stopped thinking about it. Help or bug, he would be a dumbass if he wouldn't exploit this.

As he glanced at the regressor, seeing he reached level 5, Ertex began running towards the monsters, killing them.

Goblins, zombies, humanoid figures with many limbs, Ertex killed whatever was in his path. Some gave less exp, some gave more. He continued to kill with no signs of fatigue.

With our regressor, things were different. While he wasn't as tired as most of the people, it would be a lie to say he was in his peak condition. Sweat began forming on his forehead, his moves became slower and small wounds could be seen on his arms.

But he wouldn't stop. He can't stop. Even if he had no motivation, he couldn't give up. If he did, who would fight in his stead? He knew this was just the beginning. The easiest part.

As he killed some zombies, he began to realize that less and less were rushing towards him.

'There's no way that's all..' he thought as he looked around. He then saw Ertex butchering and chopping everything.

'What..?'

He couldn't believe it. He had no memories of such a strong person from his previous life. There's no way someone like him will die here. Was he a god that he did not know about? That doesn't make sense, why would he be a player now if that was the case?

The only logical conclusion was that he wasn't choosed to participate before. But then, why was he a choosen one now? Artrus didn't understand.

That kind of scared him. If things are already changing from the beginning, would everything he knew still be as important as he thought?

He also remembered his luck stat.

[LCK - 0? - 999? (F? - EX?)]

He never saw something like that before. Was it because the system doesn't know what will happen anymore? Was it because of the new guy?

Artrus didn't understand.

[You have leveled up!]

[You have...]

[You...]

As Artrus was deep in thoughts, Ertex continued his massacre. It wasn't long before he reached level 25.

[Abilities found - 6 / ????????]

As soon as he did, numerous notification came flooding. The system had an update seemingly, now being able to track how many abilities one had.

He saw that once again the system was not able to accurately tell everything about his abilities.

Were the question marks referring to how many abilities he already had, or how many abilities he had the potential to have?

'Well, I'll find out sooner or later.'

He was in no rush since there was no imminent threat. As he looked around, he saw Artrus looking at him with a frown.

'He must be confused. That's right, this is how it's supposed to be motherfucker, be surprised and realize you'll need my help.'

Smiling, he began walking towards the entrance from where the monsters came from. Outside was a forest. The weird thing was... that it was almost destroyed?

There were bodies all over the place, either monsters or humans, most of the trees completely annihilated and those that were not were engulfed in flames.

However you looked at it, these were clear evidences that other humans were fighting not too long ago.

'Other players? If whoever summoned us here has the ability to do it numerous times a day, something like repairing this place shouldn't be that hard. So why was this not? Was it in a rush, or- '

Just as he was about to finish, the ground began shaking and not-so-normal steps could be heard. Stepping on the dead bodies, a hideous figure became slowly visible.

It had 5 eyes, a ridiculously big mouth with yellow sharp teeth, blood dripping from them. It was massive, reaching more than 10 meters.

"ROOAR!"

Ertex chuckled.

'I see..'

[Ogre

'Look at this... If I didn't know any better, I'd say whoever summoned us here just doesn't want anyone to pass.'

It had ridiculously high stats for almost everyone present since not many even reached level 8.

Everyone who saw it lost the last string of hope they desperately clung onto.

Artrus, on the other hand, was calm.

'At least this is the same as before.'

He had no reason to be scared since he knew his weakness. The ogre had a small hole near his heart and once stabbed there, it would also pierce his heart, killing him. Artrus was confident in his capability to do that.

When the regressor was about to lunch his attack, Ertex suddenly had an idea.

'I wonder...'

As he thought of something, his eyes began glowing and a symbol appeared in his pupil. And just like that, his eyes were back to normal instantly.
