This reminded Ertex of when he tried to see Beil's stats. He wasn't sure if he either was too weak, or the system simply was useless.
Lyvia giggled, looking at him.
"I also approve." she said as she formed an orb of energy, sending it towards them.
It was small but extremely fast, taking Arga and Artrus by surprise. As it reached the ground, a huge explosion occurred.
Ertex grabbed Arga and distanced themselves just before the explosion took place. Artrus wasn't lucky, unable to dodge in time, severely injuring him and knocking him out. Of course, Ertex could've saved him too.
But why would he? It was easier if he was out.
"That's a way to boost my ego." he said as he placed Arga down. "Give your best." he added, whispering to her.
Arga nodded, stretching both her arms, her eyes shining. Lyvia amused, did not interfere. It's not like she'll die.
A bright white light began emanating from Arga's hands, before changing colors multiple times, at last becoming a dark purple color. A concentrated blast of pure engery shot through, quickly approaching Lyvia.
A loud sound was heard as soon as the blast made contact with her, destroying the nearby walls. As the smoke produced began do dissappear, a silhouette became visible.
"Not half bad, really. If you were born a thousand years earlier you could have hurt me." Lyvia said with a sweet smile.
Arga's eyes flickered. Even with the ring that almost doubled her magic power she still couldn't even scratch her.
She didn't like that.
Before she could do anything else, Ertex placed a hand on her head.
"You care too much. You have nothing to worry about. A thousand years? Please."
He mocked Lyvia back, raising a finger.
"A month. A month is all you need to surpass her as she is right now."
Lyvia tilted her head, not losing her smile.
"Cocky. Of course you are."
As she finished, numerous orbs bigger than the other one appeared behind her, throwing them towards him.
They were even faster than before. It didn't matter anyway, since Ertex didn't want to dodge. He pushed Arga behind him just in time as the orbs hit him.
"Ertex!"
Arga screamed, scared for her son. Even if she knew he was strong, there's no way he would survive that...
"Told you that you have nothing to worry about. Take it as a training lesson."
... yet he did.
[Magic Nullification (Error)

'This is good.'
Arga breathes a sigh of relief, seeing him uninjured.
Lyvia threw her head back, laughing.
"Of course, of course!"
As she appeared above him, she raised her leg and stomped his head on the ground.
Ertex didn't want to dodge nor block, testing his ability. If he was wrong, he'll just die. But if he wasn't, it'll be over.
.
.
.
Well, he didn't die.
So that only means one thing.

He smirked as he grabbed her other leg, confusing her.
Until she saw everything upside down and felt that she was slammed on the ground, spitting blood.
After that, notifications appeared in front of Ertex's eyes.
[??? wants you to kill Lyvia!]
[??? wants you to kill Lyvia!]
[??? wants you to kill Lyvia!]
"I got it, I got it." he said as he stopped a punch with his hand. "What do I get from this?"
"Not paying attention while fighting. Humiliating!" using Ertex's strength, she flipped him upside down, ready to once again stomp his head.
Before touching the ground, Ertex spinned his body, grabbed Lyvia by the back of her head and slammed her on the ground, before landing gracefully.
[??? says she'll let you keep the ring and send you 300,000 coins!]
.
.
.
Ertex loved to fight just as much as he loved to fuck.
But if there was anything he loved more than these, that will be money.
And it wasn't like he enjoyed buying useless stuff with them, he just loved... having them.
So when he saw he could make that much only by 'killing' Lyvia, there's no way he would refuse.
Seeing that he only had a minute and a half left, he gave up on the idea on fighting hand to hand. Knowing himself, he'll just forget about the time limit.
As Lyvia got up, she heard him talk.
"I've no idea how strong you really are up there, but most likely it's not enough. So get stronger. When I'll get there, I want to continue from where we left off."
As she looked up, she saw him smirking and with a single orb in his hand, her own smirk growing.
It was the size of her first orb.
"I'll be waiting, Kleiss!"
He threw it, instantly reaching her. The explosion was several times more stronger than before, almost entirely destroying the place they were in.
Turning towards Arga, he saw her creating a similar orb. It didn't feel the same, but it still was very good.
"Good job." he said, picking up Artrus and walking towards the exit.
Arga smiled, quietly following him.

[You cleared a trial!]
[You killed Scarlet Lyvia's Avatar!]
[You gained 25,000 EXP!]
[You have leveled up!]
[You have leveled up!]
[You have...]
[You...]
...
[You gained 1000 attribute points!]
[You have been acknowledged!]
Numerous notifications came floating as soon as he left the portal.
'100 levels... Just 25,000 exp? It wouldn't even be enough for Edna to level up once with that amount.'
.
.
.
'Good for me I guess... Now.'
"Where's my money?" he asked.
Arga glanced at him, rolling her eyes.
Yet he got no response.
"Arya, I kinda want my money, you know?"
Nothing.
"Did I... just got scammed? By a god? Unbelievable."
Arga couldn't help but laugh at him.
[Arya sent you 300,000 coins!]
[Arya says she's sorry for the delay.]
"You should be."
[Arya says-]
"Shh. Go reflect at what you did."
.
.
.
By now, Artrus woke up.
"Finally. Do you have any idea where can I sleep?"
.
.
.
"... and maybe see a healer or something?" he added as he saw him still injured.
"There's no need for that." Artrus said as he got up, his wounds healing. "You heal your wounds when you... clear a trial?" he then rembered what happened. "We... cleared the trial?"
"Yeah. As a thank you, show us a place to sleep."
Artrus didn't understand how they got out alive. Did they fool that woman? Bribed her? Killed her? He had no idea.
He saw the ring he was looking for on Arga's finger. He felt down, but at least he was alive.
.
.
.
Artrus led them somewhere near the downtown. That place was full of hotel-like buildings.
"You can go and choose wherever you want to sleep at. I still have something to do before sleeping." he told them as he left.
They entered one and went to the receptionist.
"One room."
"Two beds?" he asked them.
"No."
"Private bathroom or common?"
"Private."
They paid 650 coins and he gave them the keys.
Arriving there, Ertex took a shower followed by Arga.
It was dark outside.
They went to bed, seemingly sleeping.
.
.
.
But Arga wasn't.
She was looking at him.
Ertex knew. She was always doing that before she falls asleep.
She was just... looking.
He hugged her. It always helped before.
.
.
.
It helped.
