As the sun set, casting a warm golden glow over the world, Sora and Ayame could be seen walking, chatting happily with each other, the environment around them warmed by their waves of laughter and smiles.
(Sora's POV)
I never knew I could laugh like this, it's almost like I had forgotten how to. Tsuba- wait…. I glanced at the person beside me, her face bathed in the evening light. Should I try using her first name? Even thinking about it makes my heart beat like crazy! But, she used my first name during her confession. Agh! Why am I such a coward!! Screw it! It's give it a shot.
While Sora was having a mental war with himself, Ayame was staring at him, smiling gently.
(Ayame's POV)
Awww!! He looks so cute!! I can't, I'll die at this rate. But what is he thinking about so hard? Hmm…. is it another woman? No, no, no. Sora-kun is loyal. I have known him since childhood! He could never cheat on me, right? Yeah…. Though, let's try asking him.
"S- Arashi-kun, everything alright," Oops I almost called him Sora-kun again. Cough. The last time, I used his first name it was in the heat of the moment, and I didn't even realize it until later!
"Y-yeah. I was just thinking about something…" He timidly replied, "What is it?" I was now curious.
He hesitated, then blurted, "It's just that…. Can I call you by your first name?" His face was flushed red, 'Mine probably isn't any better, but he is so cute!!'
I was honestly surprised, but managed to say, "Of course!" To be honest, I would have asked him to, if he hadn't said it sooner, "Ayame-san" he said, the name rolling out of his tongue surprisingly smoothly, "Please use my first name too, Ayame-san," he continued, catching me off guard.
I was still processing him calling me the first time, but the second time was a K.O! You aren't fair, Sora-kun!
"So-Sora-kun," shit I stuttered! He did it so smoothly, why did I have to stutter?!
(Sora's POV)
I did it! I somehow managed to go it without stuttering, though my whole body was trembling. Now I wanted to her to use my first name, she shouldn't have much problem, considering she did it without issue during her confession.
"Please use my first name too, Ayame-san," I requested, my body still shaking, "So-Sora-kun," she stammered, barely audible, her cheeks were flustered like never before, I swear I could hear her heart beating.
"Why are you so nervous? You said it like twenty minutes ago," I teased. Ayame's face got even more red.
"Hmph! Don't tease me! You know I said that in the heat of the moment," said she while swatting my arm with playful annoyance.
"Hahaha, my bad, but it's only fair, you tease me too," I said while rubbing my arm. Now I understand why she teases me so much, it's just so fun!
"Oh, yeah, Ayame-san, I must remind you, I won't be able to communicate with you, outside of school. You see, I don't have a phone….." This is awkward, to say the least. I mean, what would she think, a sixteen-year-old not having a phone? I probably look outdated. I hope this doesn't turn her off.
"Oh, don't worry, I know," wait… she does? How? I don't remember mentioning this to her… Hmm… Agh, maybe I forgot.
(A/N: You sweet innocent child, hehehehe!)
" We can get that resolved tomorrow," She continued, smiling confidently, "How?" how can that be resolved?
"You will see tomorrow," she said with a mischievous smirk. Now this is making me worried, what is she exactly planning?
(Third Person Perspective)
Ayme glanced at Sora, his laughter echoing in the twilight. A wave of possessiveness washed over her very being. A small smile could be seen on her face, but it did not reach her eyes, which had a darkness capable of sending shivers down a grown man.
She clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white, she craved to see that smile for so many years. For this to continue, some obstacles must be removed.
A cold glint flickered in her eyes, as an image of Kenji, and his whole family flashed in her mind. The people who threatened to take everything, her happiness, her sanity, her love. Eliminating him was the only way to ensure Sora's safety and, more importantly, his complete devotion to her.
But a tiny voice whispered in the back of her head, was this truly love? Or just a twisted to way justify control? Ayame pushed that thought away. She was clinging to the thought that her actions were justified. She had to make Sora trust her completely before she could drown him in the depths of her love, albeit twisted.
(Sora's POV)
Ayame seems to be deep in thought as she clenches her fists, her knuckles turning white, "Are you all right, Ayame-san?" I said worriedly, nudging her lightly.
She flinched at the touch, her eyes darting around nervously before turning to me, "Y-yes," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper, "I'm fine."
I refrained from prying further, pushing her would make her uncomfortable, which is the last thing I want. Instead, I tried to lighten the mood, "Maybe you saw a ghost? You know, the whole setting sun and all..."
Ayame forced a chuckle, the sound unconvincing. A mysterious glint crossed her eyes before she spoke, "Ghost? Heh. Don't be silly Sora-kun."
Agh, words don't seem to be working, well, let's try something else. Maybe... touch? I thought, holding her hand and looking at her gently. She flinched, but this time she genuinely smiled.
"Thanks, Sora-kun, for trying to cheer me up," she continued, "I can't tell you what I'm thinking about right now... There are things you wouldn't understand right now, but I promise to tell you everything."
I don't know what she's talking about, I tried to look at her, looking for answers, but it doesn't matter now. Seeing her in such a vulnerable state sent a wave of protectiveness over me, a strange mix of emotions I had never felt before. Who was this girl who had come into my life so suddenly? We've only just started dating, but why do I feel so .... connected to her already? Why does it feel like I've known her for so long? Why do I feel so protective of her? These questions swirled in this mind, unanswered for now.
Little did Sora know that his questions carried an undeniable weight. A truth waiting to be revealed. The events that were about to unfold would shatter his current reality, forever changing his perception of his past and the girl who occupied his thoughts.
But would it be for better or worse? Perhaps forging a bond stronger than ever before? Only time could tell if their blossoming love would survive the storm.
