AURELIA'S POV:
My hands trail down the skin on my neck. I can't help but look closer at my image in the mirror. Am I hallucinating or do I look older? All that I've gone through in the past few days has definitely taken years away from my life.
Someone clears their throat from the door to the bathroom, pulling my attention away from the mirror.
"Gia!" I say in an excited tone as I rush towards her.
She wraps her arms around me in a tight hug, and I have to close my eyes tight in order to prevent the tears from spilling down my cheeks.
"I thought — I thought I will never see you again." Gia says, choking on her words, and I realize I'm not the only one fighting my tears.
"It was so scary." I say in a tone filled with raw emotions as she pulls back slightly away from me.
