AURELIA'S POV:
I try to move quietly in order not to alert the person making the call that there's someone close enough to eavesdrop. However, my plan fails miserably as I stub my toe on a large vase leaning beautifully against the wall.
'Ow!' I say before catching myself. My hand flies to my mouth and I realise the person is probably aware of my presence now.
"Hold on. Someone is here. I will talk to you later." The person says in a hurried tone.
Shit! The person is trying to run away. I turn the corner hurriedly, and I find no one there. My eyes fly from one door to the next and I seriously contemplate opening and checking each and every room for the person.
After careful consideration though, I decide against it. I don't know what secrets lie hidden in these walls, and at this point, I'm not sure I even want to find out.
