AURELIA'S POV:
My hands hover in the air and my brows furrow in curiosity as I can't help but overhear the conversation going on inside the room. My hands tighten around the edges of the tray in my hand.
Alessandro had been moved back to his room, and if anything, this whole incident made him seem more human. He hasn't been working as usual and is always in his room.
"You need to be more careful, Son. This could be a hidden attack to kill you." A voice probably belonging to Alessandro's father says in a hard tone.
"Are you saying I shouldn't trust my wife?" Alessandro asks in a sharp tone. I refuse to analyse the feelings that assault me at Alessandro's words. What reason would he have to trust me?
"No. You misunderstand me, Son. I'm just saying you should be careful." Alessandro's father continues.
"My wife was just kidnapped. Shouldn't you be more concerned with how she's faring right now?" Alessandro asks in an annoyed tone.
