Chapter 28 - Chapter 27: Class Election

The school day had flown by quickly, classes passing in a blur of lectures and note-taking. Finally, the final bell signaled the end of the day, and the students gathered their belongings eagerly, preparing to head home.

"I'm hungry." Charmel sighed in frustration as her stomach growled loudly, betraying her hunger. The others chuckled at her expression, knowing that when Charmel was hungry, she turned from a calm and collected girl to a grumpy tigress.

"You're always hungry, Charms," Kai teased.

"Excuse me Leo and Charmel I heard that you don't club right?" Aaron interrupt

Charmel and Leo exchanged glances, surprised by the unexpected question. They both nodded, confirming that they weren't part of any clubs.

"Yeah that's right. We didn't join any clubs this year," Leo responded, his casual tone betraying his indifference.

Charmel nodded in agreement, her attention shifting towards Aaron. She tilted her head curiously, sensing that there was a reason behind his question.

"What about it?" she asked, her tone slightly guarded. Aaron smiled, his expression indicating that he had a suggestion to make.

"Well, I was wondering if you two would be interested in joining my club," he replied, his eyes flickering between Charmel and Leo.

Charmel and Leo exchanged glances, surprise evident on their faces. They hadn't anticipated such an invitation.

"Your club?" Charmel repeated, her tone curious. "What kind of club is it?"

Aaron stood a little straighter, pride evident in his demeanor.

"I'm the leader of the exorcist club," he announced, a touch of authority in his voice. "The club focuses on dealing with spirits, demons, and other supernatural beings."

"No, Thank you." Charmel and Leo, in synchrony, immediately declined Aaron's invitation. They exchanged a quick glance, a hint of amusement passing between them at their simultaneous response.

Aaron looked slightly taken aback by their immediate rejection, but he quickly composed himself.

"Are you sure?" he asked, his tone tinged with disappointment. "The club could really use your help."

Charmel, her tone firm, spoke up first.

"I appreciate the offer, but I have no interest in joining a club dealing with spirits and supernatural stuff," she said bluntly.

Leo, echoing Charmel's sentiments, nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, not my scene," he added, his casual shrug conveying his lack of interest.

"I'm hungry." Charmel's stomach growled loudly once again, interrupting the conversation and drawing attention to her hunger. Kai snickered, clearly amused by her hunger pangs.

"Seriously, Charms, your stomach is going to start talking for you at this rate," he teased, a playful grin on his face.

"Well if just shut up I will never be annoyed." Kai chuckled at Charmel's snappy response, clearly enjoying their banter.

"Now, now, Charms. No need to get snippy just because you're hangry," he teased further.

Meanwhile, Chika rolled her eyes, used to their playful bickering. Charmel shot an annoyed glare at Kai, her irritation increasing with each teasing remark.

"Shut up, kai," she grumbled, her tone lacking any real anger.

Leo chuckled at their playful exchange, finding amusement in Charmel's disgruntled expression.

The next few days had passed in a whirlwind of classes and assignments. Today was a special day in their classroom – the day of the class election. Students eagerly chatted amongst themselves, discussing who to vote for as class president.

As Charmel stood up and nominated Chika for class president, a murmur of surprise rippled through the class. Chika, caught off guard by the sudden nomination, looked at Charmel with a mixture of surprise and gratitude.

"Wait, me?" Chika asked, her expression a blend of shock and excitement. Charmel rose her hand once again, signaling the closure of nominations. The class fell into a momentary silence, their eyes darting between Charmel and Chika, awaiting the outcome of the election.

Stussy Momo, their homeroom teacher, stood at the front of the class, a small smile on her face at Charmel's bold moves.

"Very well then," Stussy Momo said, her voice authoritative yet friendly. "If there are no further nominations, the class election can proceed."

The class erupted into chatter, students discussing amongst themselves who they would vote for. Chika turned to Charmel, her eyes wide with surprise and gratitude.

"Did you plan this?" Chika whispered to Charmel, still in disbelief at being nominated for class president. Charmel shrugged nonchalantly, a sly smile tugging at her lips.

"Maybe," she responded vaguely, not wanting to disclose her intentions just yet.

"You're full of surprises, Charmel," Chika chuckled, shaking her head in amusement. She knew her best friend well enough to know there was more to the nomination than meets the eye.

"Well you have no component I already closed the nomination from now on you the Class President." Charmel's words hung in the air for a moment, and then realization dawned on Chika's face. Her eyes widened as the weight of Charmel's actions sank in.

"Wait a minute..." Chika said slowly, still processing. "Did you just effectively make me the class president, all by yourself?"

Charmel chuckled at Chika's dumbfounded expression, finding amusement in her friend's momentary shock.

"That's exactly what I did," Charmel confirmed, her smirk growing wider.

As the election continued, the class moved onto the next position up for grabs – treasurer. A few hands shot up, volunteers eager to take on the responsibility of managing the class funds.

When the time came to nominate a treasurer, Charmel raised her hand without hesitation. The class took notice of her action, a few surprised murmurs rippling through the room.

"I nominate myself for treasurer," Charmel said firmly, her confident gaze meeting each pair of eyes watching her.

"If I will be the treasurer, I promise every Sunday we go to the beach use with school money." Charmel's declaration caused a stir among the class, their faces revealing a mix of surprise and excitement at her promise.

"Wait, you're seriously going to take us to the beach every Sunday with school funds?" Kai exclaimed, disbelief coloring his voice.

"Shut up you corrupt" one of her classmates said. Charmel's offer was met with skepticism from a classmate, who accused her of being "corrupt" for promising to use school funds for personal leisure. Her cheeks flushed with anger at the accusation.

"Excuse me?" she fired back. "I'm not corrupt. I just believe students should have a say in where their school money is spent."

She continued, her voice filled with conviction, "Every student pays into the school funds. Why shouldn't we have a say in how it's used? And I believe an occasional beach trip would be a great way to bond as a class."

Despite Charmel's impassioned argument, the class remained skeptical of her extravagant promise and the idea of using school funds for personal outings.

When the votes were counted, Charmel's name remained noticeably absent from the tally. The results made her frown, disappointment etched across her face.

Kai, who was beside her, nudged her gently, sensing her disappointment.

"Looks like your beach plan didn't get the votes you hoped for, Charms," he teased, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Are you looking for a fight?" Kai chuckled at Charmel's feisty reply, amused by her quick temper. He raised his hands in a mock surrender, his smirk widening.

"Woah, woah, feisty tiger. I surrender, I surrender," he said, feigning fear.
